5 of 5  Fantastic!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, swansea,south wales, uk, June 23, 2009

Before staying here I was very concerned about the security here. We stayed here for 2 weeks, just got back and have no complaints about anything.

The room was clean, great size bed! They say u get a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. Some people on here said they didn't get any or all of these items. We had them all and also had an iron and board. You can't complain about that, we paid for room only and got these items.

The maids were great and even gave us extra coffee etc.

All the staff here are very friendly and very helpful. The pools were clean and the grounds were kept clean. We ate twice at the motel buffet restaurant which was very nice and again staff were very friendly. There was nothing what so ever to complain about. I wouldnt definately stay here again, loved it!

Its in a great location, not too far from the parks and i-drive has some great restaurants.

5 of 5  Cheap and cheerful - great value for the money, A TripAdvisor Member, England, June 20, 2009

We always stay at the Quality Inn International. Stayed here 10+ times, and each year we go back it is the same. Room is tired, but cheap. Free coffee, fridge, microwave... Cleaned every day. No shortage of towels (sometimes they are late delivering fresh towels to the pool so take the ones from the room or take off the cleaning trolleys). Love the Golden Corral buffet across the road, Sizzlers down the road. Good fish restaurant right next door. Don't ask for a taxi at the front desk, or use the cars parked out front. They agree a price with you - but are more pricey. They add the tip on for you! Phone Meers (free) from your room. They are cheaper. The free transport to Universal goes to about four different hotels before delivering you to Universal, but it is free! Cheaper to stay in Disney hotels when you "do" Disney. By the time you add on transport... We always do 2-3 weeks here then go on to Disney. Restaurant is cheap and cheerful. Suits my 10 year old cos she eats free - but I find it very limiting (I'm a veggie). Tea and coffee is free but if you order a soft drink they charge you for it - and no free refills. Pizza places deliver to the room or pool...This hotel is for people who want to spend money on the holiday and not the room. Rosen Plaza is better - but triple the price! Would I stay here again? Definitely... Shopping - take the number 42 bus to Florida Mall - opposite the hotel. Costs 2 bucks and kids are free.

5 of 5  Excellent - don't believe the bad reviews!, A TripAdvisor Member, Witley, June 7, 2009

I booked an amazing deal here on the day I saw it. I knew the offer would be gone by the next day. I never normally read reviews to decide on a hotel and I probably won't bother again for the inaccurate information some people write.

When I booked the week (which was enough for us) I thought we would probably be out most of the time and indeed we were out every day. On the days we visited a theme park we came back very late. All we really needed was a comfy bed and a reasonable bathroom. Although I have been to the USA before it was our first time in Florida. As I am planning to go for another week next year I have been looking at the choice of hotels available including some slightly more expensive ones. I was shocked to read the many bad reviews on Tripadvisor but now I don't know whether I believe them having read the bad reviews for this hotel.

Our room faced the parking lot and the I4 on the ground floor so I didn't think it had perhaps such a good position as the ones facing the gardens or ones on the upper floors. However it was surprisingly quiet and we couldn't hear the traffic noise. For the price we paid I couldn't possibly complain. The lady at reception said that one can make a request which I will do next time.

Our room and bathroom were perfectly clean and everything. worked including all our lights. We have stayed in more expensive places and it is not unusual to have something not working. We had loads of fluffy white towels, a comfortable bed, a bath with shower, a full length mirror on the bathroom door with a decent hairdryer next to it, regular bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We had a large TV with cable television We used the coffee machine a couple of times with delicious coffee. When we used the sachet of coffee provided it was replaced by two sachets the next day. The maid service was unobtrusive. Sometimes, because we had had some late nights my daughter slept in and no one harangued us to get into the room to clean. When we left it was after the statutory time of 11 a.m. but again nobody bothered us. We were out so much I didn't get round to using either of the swimming pools. The one near us did seem a bit noisy with kids but then one wouldn't expect anything else. I didn't get round to looking at the other one closely. The restaurant was very pleasant. We always sat by the window overlooking the garden with the swimming pool in the distance. The buffet breakfast was excellent with scrambled egg, sausages, sausage patty, bacon, toast, four types of cerial, muesli, bananas, prunes, strawberries, yoghurt, melon, jelly, doughnuts, hard boiled eggs, tea, coffee etc. etc. One had to request the fresh milk. There was a lack of orange juice which is at an extra charge. I thought Florida was famous for Florida orange juice. The security was very good. When we drove in there were two men at the entrances checking our parking permit.

The first part of International Drive which we drove along from Sanford airport seemed to be quite posh. The motel is just in the less green looking area with a fun fair on the other side of the road. However there is quite a good choice of restaurants and fast food outlets within close walking distance. We tried the Perkins restaurant on the other side of International Drive on our first evening which we liked. We are quite critical tourists, particularly my husband. On our holiday satisfaction questionnaire I wrote excellent and my husband wrote good which is high praise from him!

5 of 5  GREAT HOTEL and HOLIDAY, DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE YET AGAIN!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, London, May 18, 2009

Just returned from Quality Inn International for the second time and what can i say it was even better then before.

Stayed for 2 weeks and hired a car and it was the bestest 2 weeks i have ever had.

Perfect HOT sunshine throughout the whole 2 weeks it Hit it's highest temp for April/May 97 degrees was brillant.

The beds are extremely comfortable, i loved them so much i didnt want to get out haha.

TV in the room is great. Great programmes for everyone.

You can pick up internet in the room if you have an I-pod touch that has wireless or even a laptop, which is GREAT.

Fridge, Microwave and coffee maker in room, can go shopping and pick up some microwave meals if you don't want to waste money on takeaways.

Did NOT want to leave at all, was extremely sad to leave :'-(.

If your considering to go here then i suggest you GO for it, that's what i did and i am planning my 3rd trip back to that hotel.

People are so friendly no matter what time of the day it is.

SO BOOK UP NOW, YOU WON'T REGRET TRUST ME!!!!!

5 of 5  Great Hotel & Brilliant Service.., A TripAdvisor Member, Swindon, England,UK., May 18, 2009

Quality Inn on International Drive.. A great Hotel ideally placed on International Drive. Rooms were more than adequate for the Price, the only thing missing was a kettle, but this can be overcome by putting Tea Bags directly into the Perculator basket. Rooms were cleaned daily and were always left secure. On Site resturant was Excellent, the Food was cooked to a high standard and was always fresh, resonably priced in comparison to the other outlets on I-Drive, Resturant staff were outstanding, always polite and extremely helpful as were all the staff in the hotel from Security to Reception. The Quality Inn is ideally placed as its right in the centre of I-Drive with easy access to Universal and Disney, we didnt have a car and the transport system is excellent (Especially the "Singing" drivers on the I-Ride !!) Although the Hotel is slightly dated in some places it was more than adequate for our needs, if you want a 5 star hotel then you'll have to pay 5 star prices !! this hotel wasn't a 5 star hotel but neither was it a budget hotel.. We enjoyed our stay at The Quality Inn so much we have just booked another 2 weeks in 2010.. and theres 13 of us travelling this time !! All in all, this Hotel offers excellent value for money, the Staff are always polite and offer an outstanding and excellent service at all times, if you going to Orlando, we thoroughly recommend The Quality Inn on I-Drive..

5 of 5  Brilliant!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Bristol, UK, May 13, 2009

I stayed here for a week with my Nan last October, and I thought it was excellent. We were right next to the lobby which was very well kept. I thought that the buffet breakfast was great value, It is right in the middle of International drive with an I-Ride trolley stop directly outside which is very conveinient, and great value for money. I thought the hotel was very clean, so were the pool's, The staff were very friendly and helpfull. I am taking my son to Florida at the end of 2010 and will definately be staying here.

5 of 5  Absolutely Perfect!, A TripAdvisor Member, Dublin, Ireland, May 4, 2009

I stayed here the first time I went to Orlando and I will definately be going back. The location is perfect! As soon as you walk out of the hotel you are in the centre of everything - shops, wet n wild, ripley's believe it or not, restaurants...everything!! Most things are in within walking distance. The hotel itself was spotless. The rooms were well kept and you have a hairdryer, microwave, fridge, tea and coffee, a T.V and a wall safe. The staff are all lovely and friendly. There's also some free buses to places like Disneyworld that pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. Overall it was a great stay..i absolutely loved it!

5 of 5  Just the place, especially if you don't want to drive, A TripAdvisor Member, Essex, April 29, 2009

After reading some of the other reviews, I was a bit worried about staying here in case it was a let down. I needn't have worried, as it was ideal. The hotel had everything we needed. Two double beds, so my son and I could toss and turn as much as we wanted to each night without waking each other up. A fridge for storing the water, fizzy drinks and supply of chocolate. A microwave, which came in handy one day when we brougth back a doggy bag of ribs from Chilli's and felt peckish the next day. A coffee making facility, and hair dryer were also there, and a TV with about 13 channels, so everthing you needed really. Shower was lovely and warm. My 14 year old son said that it was one of the best showers he had ever used, praise indeed! The towels semed to be changed all the time which is great as far as I'm concerned. Down in reception was the restaurant, which we only used once for dinner as I like to go out and explore different places. It was nice though. A set price to each as much as you want. Roast beef, nachos, sausage stew, lots of different desserts etc. There was also a bar next door, which had a pool table and television, and was open until late. Next door was the "Worlds biggest McDonald" although we both preferred Denny's which is just a couple of yards away, but not the place to eat if you're a health freak! Not wanting to drive, but wanting to visit all the theme parks, water parks etc this was perfect. For just $34 (£25) I purchased two 14 day tickets for the I-Ride Trolley. This is a great little bus which actually has a little face on the front of it, that goes from one end of International drive to the other. They don't give change, so best idea to save money and hassle is to buy a 7/14 day pass. At either end of the bus route is an Outlet shoping mall. Premium at one end, Prime at the other. I think my son loved these more than the theme parks, and had soon spent his five hundred Dollars spending money on trainers, baseball hats and other clothes. Even though the Dollar rate is not the best, there's still some bargains to be had, especially if you like converse footwear and Ralph Lauren. The choice of colours, styles are endless and the price is dirt cheap compared to the UK. My son actually bought one pair for fifteen Dollars, about twelve pounds! The Florida Mall is another option, and is superb. We spent all day here when it rained and it was great. You will need to get the Lynx bus there, which takes about half an hour and it only costs $2 for adults and $1 for kids. Definitely worth visiting.

Food wise, the choice is also great. We ate in Chillis, just up the road, Bahama breeze, which is a Caribbean restaurant, and does a mean Key lime Pie, and cocktails. If you want value, then the Ponderosa is for you. You pick a menu when you go in, ranging from about $12 to $25 dollars, and on top of that you get a free buffet menu, which incudes spaghetti, nuggets, nachos, a great salad cart, desserts etc. There's also a Chinese buffet by one of the crazy Golf courses, which is also very good. The crazy golf courses, and there are a few of them are superb, and put ours to shame. A great way to finish the evening, if you still have any energy left! Wet and Wild is also just a couple of stops away on the I-Ride, and is a great water park to have a chill out day. Just don't get there too late if you want a sunbed. if you are going to Universal, the hotel does lay on a free shuttle, but book up the day before as it goes fast. There's only two in the morning, 8.15 and 10.15. If you want to avoid the massive queues then I advise getting the 8.15. We got to the park for opening time, and went on the Hulk , Duelling dragons and Spiderman within the first hour. An hour or so later, we looked and all three of these rides had a waiting times of over an hour!

4 of 5  Great hotel, great location, A TripAdvisor Member, Hartlepool,England, June 25, 2009

Stayed here in june 09 with my husband and 2 children (11 & 8)Absolutely nothing to worry about, great hotel and great location,we stayed on the 5th floor overlooking the pool, had everthing u needed in the room, microwave, fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and coffee maker, room was cleaned everyday and clean towels were left everyday too, decor wasnt modern but room was clean,we walked to wet n wild often which was about 15 min walk from hotel but could have got free bus but we prefered to walk,we also walked to universal studios which took about 30 mins at a leisurely pace, again u could get the free bus which we did on one occassion. It had 2 swimming pools which were ok but we used the waterparks, aquatica was brilliant. There was only one problem...................................................we had to come home :(

4 of 5  Would stay again if the price is right!, A TripAdvisor Member, Guildford, June 19, 2009

Just got back from a week's stay at the Quality Inn International Drive. We got a really cheap deal and I must say i was worried having read some of the reviews on TA. However, I needn't have worried. Yes, the place is dated and the rooms need updating BUT they are clean and it is in a great location and cheap. The pool is also nice and great to come back to after a long day at the parks.

I have said that i wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend as everyone has different tastes but for us and the price we paid it was good and somewhere to go back to and shower and sleep with no troubles.

Personally, I would have no problems staying here again if the price is right!

4 of 5  Fab location, A TripAdvisor Member, Cheshire, June 17, 2009

Myself and my partner went here last September. The location of this motel is fantastic you couldnt ask for anywhere better for location, i would recommend the I-Trolley it really is the best thing to get and the cheapest, you dont need taxi's here.

I would definately recommend ordering your theme park tickets before you go!!! However saying that we did do the bloody mary event at Universal which was fab and very over the top but we loved it.

In relation to the actual rooms, i would agree with some of the reviews on here, the rooms are very basic and there was a strange smell coming from the side of our bed but to be honest we were out first thing in the morning and in last thing at night so we were too tired to think about it because you are hardly ever in the room. The rooms did have everything you needed and the beds were comfy but did need updating!! Our room was facing the pool at the far end of the hotel and it was lovely and peaceful especially at night.

If you get chance i would recommend seeing Kennedy Space Centre, i wasnt that keen on going in the first place but my boyfriend really wanted to go and i have to say it was one of the best experiences ever!!!

The weather was really hot in September/ October, there was rain at night but like i say you are that tired by the time you get back to your room it doesnt ruin your stay.

International Drive is definately the place to stay, there are unlimited bars and places to eat, you definately wont be stuck for choice. We went for two weeks but felt like you need a good month to see half of everything. I must warn you that if you see a Steak House called Charlies it is a fab place to eat but not your usual cheap food, we went for a walk and came across it dressed in shorts, t-shirts, typical tourist clothes to be met with waiters in dicky bow and suits- highly embarassed but something to remember!!!

All in all we did like this hotel but dont think we would stay here again just due to the fact that it wasnt the most nicest place we have stayed but loved the whole experience of Florida and would definately come back to Orlando and International Drive!!!

4 of 5  Great Location/Decent Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Glasgow,Scotland, June 14, 2009

Don't listen to the bad reviews, you get what you, pay for and that was a nice clean hotel room.

We left $2 every morning in room for cleaning staff and that did the trick or room was spotless.Staff were very helpfull. As soon as we arrived,i explained that i have epilepsy and cannot use elevators, therefore i was given a room in the smaller block, which had two floors, facing on to the pool area.

The location is great right next to loads of restaurants, and shops.

BAD POINTS

Don't use the WDW transport they provide it cost $16 per person

when you can easily get the i-ride trolley to seaworld cross the road and get the lynx bus for $2 to the park.

Don't use the onsite shop either there is a wallgreen just down the road and it is much cheaper for everything you will need, soft drinks, milk beer ect.

All in All this hotel is the ideal base for a good holiday.

I've stayed here and the Quality Inn Plaza and much prefer this one

will be back again soon.

4 of 5  We comming back as soon as we can, A TripAdvisor Member, Nicosia, Cyprus, June 9, 2009

Nice hotel, frindly staff, excelent location, as if is in the center of everywhere in Orlando. Deffenetly I will stay again as I did two times allready.

4 of 5  This was a fun place to stay, A TripAdvisor Member, NY, June 6, 2009

We liked the pool and we were able to walk International Blvd at night, which was nice. There are many shops, restaurants and things to see and do. I did not like having to park in the lot, then walk past rooms, across the lawn and then to our room. That, and the fact that you have to book your shuttle rides way ahead of time, or you may not get the "free shuttle". This happened to us. Luckily, we had a rental car, otherwise we would have had to take a cab, as this was our last day in town. The rooms were clean and big, the staff were very friendly.

4 of 5  absolutely fine stay when budget required us to watch our pennies!, A TripAdvisor Member, Toledo, Ohio, May 26, 2009

In orlando for star wars weekend with daughter and grandson, we usually stay on disney property ,but this being our third vacation this year we needed to watch cost....got special from airtran for $39.00 a night which included breakfast buffet daily...daughter who is very picky said she would stay at this hotel again, which is a huge compliment to this hotel...staff very friendly and helpful, rooms older but clean never saw any bugs of any sort, which freaks her out...security present...buffet breakfast very satisying...pools well kept with complimentary towels at poolside...easy access to Interstate 4...walmart within 2 miles...fridge and microwave in room...was worried at first with some reviews but I would definitely stay at this property again...

4 of 5  Tired rooms but well located and friendly, A TripAdvisor Member, London, United Kingdom, May 22, 2009

We have stayed here several times on trips from the UK. Many people even on this site get mixed up between hotels as there are 2 Quality Inns on International Drive. This one is locally known as the Low Q as it is lower down the International Drive than the other. The hotel is of a Motel style, with access to rooms being from open communal balcony's. The staff are numerous and excellent and do try hard to take pride in their hotel. The rooms however are extremely tired and are in desperate need of good revamp/lick of paint. Also be warned security is poor as it is possible to walk into the hotel from numerous entrances without being challenged. During our stay two guests were robbed in their rooms at gunpoint, pistol whipped and then the 2 robbers simply walked away. See link below for details.

http://www.wftv.com/news/19460155/detail.html

There are 2 small but clean pools with fresh towels available free of charge poolside. The restaurant is good for breakfasts but not great for evening meals unless you're using the free meal voucher which some holiday companies give out.

There is no real need to rent a car as local trolleys and buses are frequent and well priced. Washing and drying machines at a cost of $1.75 are located throughout the hotel and rooms have wireless internet access and basic cable TV.

All in all this hotel presents good value for money and is ideally located for Universal Studios, Wet & Wild, Aquatica and Sea World, although Disney is a fair distance by car or bus.

4 of 5  Pleasantly surprised with what we found!, A TripAdvisor Member, indycivic, May 19, 2009

I was VERY skeptical of this hotel when I booked it, but it was SOOO cheap. I didn;t expect anything but a place to sleep. I was wrong. We were greeted at the front desk by a very friendly and knowledgeable couple of ladies that allowed us to check in early. In the lobby there is a fully stocked convenience store - it even has fountain drinks. There is also a bar that we didnt hit, but it looked fun. The room was on the second floor - no elevator but its an older hotel and I am sure if I had asked we could have gotten a first floor room. The room is typical old school hotel. Its a pretty good sized room, nice beds and fresh paint all around. Our carpet was clean, sheets looked brand new and the bathroom was old - but very clean. Its not the Ritz...but for the money and location you can't beat it.

Where the hotel really shines is the landscaping - this may be one of the nicest kept grounds of any hotel...especially on International drive. I found a walk around the well kept trees and flowering plants very relaxing...considering we were right between I Drive and I4 - you wouldnt know it. The pools were also well kept.

Good location, clean rooms, and a helpful staff all make this a great hotel for an inexpensive trip.

4 of 5  Good all round experience, A TripAdvisor Member, West Mids, May 15, 2009

We have been lucky enough to stay here on a previous trip and I am happy to say we had a good time on both occasions. It's in a great location for many attractions and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely want to stay here again in future.

4 of 5  Fabulous Cheaper Option, A TripAdvisor Member, Queensland, May 10, 2009

We stayed in this hotel on a 6 week trip to the US. Great Option and would stay there again.

Breakfast was fantastic and the hotel is quite large. Rooms a spacious and clean.

Pools were lovely.

Great option for families.

Only downside is the transport to the park. You have to pay for the shuttle and it can add up daily. You do however save on food etc because there are plenty of cheaper options straight out on the street.

4 of 5  Great Location, A TripAdvisor Member, Hull, May 9, 2009

Good bits: This is a great location for a first visit to Orlando. It is in the middle of International Drive, although sufficiently set back enough from the street itself, which has plenty of restaurants, shops and entertainment, although after about 11 oclock is quiet. The hotel is basic but clean and staff are really efficient. There are three pools at the hotel with free towels in bins by the pools. There is also a launderettes in each block. The rooms are all equiped with microwaves, fridges(we used to buy bottled water and cooled it for the theme parks as water there is really expensive!), hairdryers, coffee machines, showers and safes. In addition to this it is about a 10 min drive to Universal and Seaworld and about 15 mins from Disneyworld. There is a good bus service called the i-trolley which is $1.25 per adult and kids ride free up and down i-drive which is 15 miles long good if you want a drink!!

The bad bits: Initially we were given a room by the Interstate 4 (i-4) , which was like sleeping at the side of the M1, we asked to move rooms the following morning and we were given a much better location facing I-drive, so if you are going to book make sure your room does not face the i-4 as you will not sleep!. The lite bite convenince store attached to the hotel is extortionate avoid it and use nearby Walgreens or if you have a car Wal-Mart on Turkey Lake Road ( by the way this will not be published on any of the tourist brochures!)

4 of 5  Great Location!!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Panama, May 1, 2009

We stayed at the Quality Inn in April from 5 days, it’s not 5* luxury but it is a fantastic. Hotel having access to both Sand Lake road and International Drive, it's really easy to get to the main attractions. We kept our bottles of water, juice, etc in the fridge and I used the coffee machine in the room in the morning. The hotel has free use of in-room safe and they do offer free transportation to some

parks. We get the Lynx bus. From International Drive you get a number 8, change at SeaWorld for a number 50 which takes you right into Disney

4 of 5  Great location with good food, nice staff, but really dated rooms!!, A TripAdvisor Member, New Brunswick, April 30, 2009

We stayed at the Quality Inn on International Drive for 10 days both this year and last. We arrived late from a 42 hour bus tour and was checked in within 15 minutes. We were on the third level by the highway overlooking the pool. We enjoyed watching the disney fireworks in the distance from out our window but the highway could get noisy with all the sirens. The breakfast buffet was really good but we also enjoyed the buffet at the nearby Sizzlers which was cheaper. The plus side of this hotel is the location. You have a Walgreens open 24 hr across the road. Wonerworks, A huge shopping complex, and a great little mini golf. There is also the trolly, which for a few dollars takes you where ever you need to go on International Drive. That has endless restaurants and shopping centers, including my favorite all the outlets and my fiance favorite the Bass Pro Shop.

The only problem we had this year was the main pool by the entrance was smelly for a few days and towels & toilet paper were not replenished everyday, but if you called house keeping some would be sent.

4 of 5  Location, Location, Location, A TripAdvisor Member, Glasgow, Scotland, April 28, 2009

This is a no frills hotel, if your looking for luxury then i suggest you move on if, however you are looking for a base to explore the delight that is Orlando then you have found the right place!

I stayed here on a girly holiday with my best mate. We had an excellent time and i would most definately consider using this hotel again in the future.

As has been said before this isn't a hotel out of the ordinary, it's a very run of the mill hotel but for the price what can you really expect?

Our room was large, over looked the pool and was cleaned by the maids daily.

The staff on site are very helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.

The restraunt is great and the food delicious and cheap. Great for a breakfast before hitting the parks!

The pool is cleaned daily and you have free fresh towels by the pool side.

As two single ladies we felt very safe in this hotel, there is 24 hour security.

The location is just fabulous and really the best thing about this hotel. Right in the heart of International Drive, it's brilliant!! There are so many places to eat and things to do on IDrive that you will never be bored after the parks have closed.

All in all we had a wonderful holiday and this hotel suited us just fine.

4 of 5  No fills hotel, for adults, A TripAdvisor Member, ESSEX,UK, April 26, 2009

Check-in: There was a long queue when we arrived but we were dealt with quickly. We were given a map (was [--]) to help us find our room.

The room: It was located on the top floor overlooking the pool. The room was brightly decorated in blue and yellow. The room looked and smelt clean. TV, Hairdryer ect all worked. The bathroom was not as hygenic.. I would buy/bring Bleach or something next time. The sink area was interesting with a microwave and hair dryer next to it. I would not recommened this hotel to families for this reason. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The rooms were cleaned every day, the maid was very helpful. We also tipped $1 eac time we had our room cleaned. From outside the hotel room you could view the swimming pool and also see universal studios.

Facilities: The only facility we used at the hotel was the FREE shuttle service to universal studios. You do have to book this but is well worth it. Our hotel was the last pick up and then its a quick 5min drive to the parks.

Location: The hotel is situated in a excellent location for driving and walking. They are lots of shops/ resturants on international drive. But I did feel slightly unsafe of a night. I would of not walked alone as a female.

4 of 5  Fantastic Holiday., A TripAdvisor Member, Sussex, April 25, 2009

We have just got back from a fun filled two week holiday staying at The Quality Inn International and are already looking at booking for next year, yes the rooms are dated but when you are on holiday in Florida you are only in them to sleep anyway. We found the staff friendly and helpful and the hotel restaurant was great for the kids to have an earley breakfast before hitting the parks. My only tip for families that opted for not driving in Florida is that you will be given the hard sell to purchase Mears travel to and from the Disney Parks at a round trip of $16 per person ,we puchased one round trip and it was horrendous, it took two hours to get back from Animal Kingdom because what they don't tell you is that a couple of larger hotels have paid Mears to have their guests dropped off first. We were approached by an excellent licensed shuttle driver who took us to the parks for $8 per person and always turned up and was never late.[King Soloman]

4 of 5  Cheap, clean and vey accessabile, A TripAdvisor Member, sheffield england, March 24, 2009

if you are looking for something central on international drive this is the place to stay. travelled with Virgin for a 2 week holiday. Rooms were cleaned daily, pool area always clean (towels provided poolside), staff were helpful, there was a restuarant which served all you can eat breakfast($5.99) & dinner ($15.99) very reasonably priced. there's a lounge open till 2am were snacks can be purchased. lobby area clean & inviting. travellers make the most of the shuttle services to & from the parks. considering florida again at the end of 2010 & will definately be booking again, it also helped having a fridge & mircowave in the rooms

3 of 5  Worth the price paid but not more, A TripAdvisor Member, North Dakota, June 18, 2009

I chose this hotel because I was on a tight budget. The location was great but the hotel is in need of some updating. The doors are directly to the outside and we often had people smoking right outside the door which would seep into our room because the doors didn't seal well. Also it was quite a walk to get off of the hotel grounds because you had to walk through several sections of the hotel. There was no elevator on our section so we had to carry our suitcases down a flight of stairs. Since we spent little time at the hotel and the beds were very comfy and the maids did a good job of keeping the room clean we were satisfied with our stay but if I had the money to pay an additional $30-$40 more a night and stay at a better hotel next time I would.

3 of 5  NOT Quality!, A TripAdvisor Member, Lancashire, England, June 17, 2009

Booked into here for our 14 day holiday trip to Orlando. This hotel was basic but clean, service was good in reception and maid service was great from our maid Marie. The pool was okay, although there were too many loud obnoxious Brits around it! International Drive was like Blackpool - cheap, loud, bright lights, crap tourist shops and far too many fast food joints!

3 of 5  OK for the price I got, A TripAdvisor Member, Anchorage, June 17, 2009

We got a deal with Spirit Airlines for $29.95 a night, I wouldn't have been very happy if I'd paid much more. The rooms are in serious need of an upgrade & they need to be cleaned better, stuff still on the carpet & hair in the bathtub when we checked in. The beds were comfortable (stains on the bedspreads though), we had a microwave & frig, the pool was nice for the kids and no bugs in the room so those were the good points. The shuttle to Universal was on time, had no problems there at all. If you're not super picky it'll do for a night or two.

3 of 5  Basic Hotel in a great location, A TripAdvisor Member, Tyrone, N. Ireland, June 15, 2009

After reading the reviews here I was dreading what we were going to! We got a great deal on the holiday and thought if it was really that bad we'd go somewhere else! We checked in and after inspecting the room I have to say there was nothing to complain about. Yes it is a little dated but it was clean, there was a fridge, microwave, hairdryer, iron and board, we only used fridge. The shower was fine, our towels were changed every day, there was a problem with the toilet - it kept filling - but we reported it and was fixed that day. The location of the hotel is excellent so near to Universal & Discovery Cove, Disney Parks are about 15-20 mins away. We actually slept very well considering we were in a strange bed, but after a day in the parks all we wanted was to shower and sleep ready for the next day!

We had got all our passes except Disney as we only needed a 2-day and you can only buy a 5-day in UK, asked at the desk in the hotel and was told a load of rubbish, I wouldn't recommend going to them, if you don't want to queue at Disney the day you are going there is a Disney shop in the Prime Outlets at the end of International Drive and the stafff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. This is also great place to shop, picked up some great bargins!

3 of 5  Not as bad as I thought!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Missouri, June 11, 2009

We were traveling with 6 teenage boys on their senior trip. They were all responsible for paying for this trip and using much of their own money. When I booked the room I talked with the reservation agent and she was able to get me a tremendous rate on 2 rooms, one with breakfast.

Of course after reading reviews, some good and some bad, I too was skeptical. Let me just say that we were pleasantly surprised.

First, the location is great for many activities and restaurants within walking distance or to catch a trolley. After you sit in traffic on I-drive, walkling is a good idea. Its close to all of the amusement parks, Universal, Disney, Sea World and major shopping.

Second, the grounds are very nice and well maintained (for hotels age). Both pools were comfortable with towel service and plenty of lounge chairs. Plenty of parking and security at two entrance gates as well as frequent walk throughs by security guards. One thing I really liked was that the laundry facilities were on our floor and very convenient. They were clean and easy to use and did a good job.

Third, we had breakfast with our room and it was buffet or you could order off of a menu as well. Typical buffet fare, was decent nothing special. Good coffee and OJ tasted fresh squeezed. There was always clean tables available and the buffet was well attended to.

Fourth, staff was pleasant and attentive to needs. We didn't have any issues during our stay so I can't vouch for their problem solving skills. Everyone was well groomed and wore a uniform so they were very distinguishable.

Fifth, our room was fine. You must keep in mind this is an OLDER HOTEL, not the Ritz. Our hotel was cleaned everyday, clean sheets and towels. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft not scratchy and stiff. It did have a little musty smell, but most hotels in Florida do. It is damp, humid and rainy most of the year. I did wear my flip flops all of the time because the carpet seemed a little worn and dirty, but I do this when I stay at Hilton or Marriot as well. Our room faced the pool side and it was quiet at night. And the most improtant thing to me, that for our entire stay, I did not see one BUG in our room. Not even clues left behind that bugs had been there before. Can't say that for even some of the more expensive places I've stayed.

I was very pleased with our stay . If you decide to stay here too, request a room facing the courtyard or pool and on upper levels. You'll have less noise and the view is much nicer than the parking lot. They have good elevators that work. Go with an open mind, you are not at the hotel very much and for the price you can't do much better. I've paid more and stayed in worse.

Advice to the property owner, Update your rooms decor, new paint, flooring and bedding would make a huge difference. You have a really nice place it is just very dated which makes it seem dirty when it really isn't that bad.

3 of 5  Pretty nasty, A TripAdvisor Member, West Sussex, June 1, 2009

Some champ of a travel agent from Thomson sent us to this hotel for the first 5 nights of our Honeymoon - god love him!

THE BAD

This is very budget, the rooms are in blocks resembling a nasty council estate, complete with urine smelling staircases and dodgy lifts. The room was really dirty, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, the bathroom had mould around the tub and up the walls and there were some really questionable stains on the carpet.

The toilet got blocked every other day and when we reported it we were given the impression this was the norm.

As you come into the room from your council blockesk balcony walkway it means there are no windows that can be opened and no net curtains meaning the room gets stuffy and unless you pull the curtains at all times you have no privacy - which apparently doesnt worry some people!!

THE GOOD

Location is really great with free shuttles to Universal and IOA (although there is only one bus at each time slot and they will just keep squeezing people in whether there are seats or not, incl kids, old people, or pregnant ladies - you will be expected to stand in the aisle or sit on a strangers lap).

The reception and foyer are in much better condition than the rooms and have all you need.

Although the rooms were dirty and really outdated the beds were both clean and really comfortable.

We were in a room facing into the complex onto the pool and although the place is rammed with screaming kids and really noisy during the day it was so quiet at night it was unbelievable - couldnt hear any road noise at all which was suprising - whether this is the same for rooms facing the road i wouldnt like to comment but would be worth requesting a room facing a pool. Possibly some of the better nights sleep i have ever had in a hotel.

In one sentance this hotel is very rough around the edges but if all you want is a clean bed to get into after a busy day then it will do the job (just dont walk on the carpet in bare feet!)

3 of 5  If it wasn't for the discount, I wouldn't stay here, A TripAdvisor Member, Tampa, Florida, May 31, 2009

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Quality Inn and the reason that we decided to stay here was because they were offering a special at the time. Let me clarify that the only way that I will stay there is if there is a hefty discount compared to other hotels in the area.

The staff seemed incapable and inconsiderate in handling simple tasks. Even checking in, even though we had reservations, proved to be a problem. Eventually we got our room only to be disappointed with the room's questionable cleaniness. To summarize the cleaniness, there was a distinguishable hairball hanging on our shower faucet. The rooms were also typical budget quality and the TV didn't work correctly; although we didn't stay in the room much. If it wasn't for the fact that we only used the room to sleep in, the stay would have been worst. I think what really annoyed me was the staff's lack of professionalism, apathy, and incompetence. Perhaps some training and empowerment could improve the staff.

The security on the premises is sub-par and simply consists of checking if your car has the appropriate permit to park. It seems like they're more concerned with making sure people don't park there than they are in maintaining a vigilant presence.

The good thing about the stay was the hotel buffet. It was really good and really cheap. Location is also pretty ideal. I would stay here again if there is a discount and I would try to minimize my time at the actual hotel.

3 of 5  (low) Quality inn, A TripAdvisor Member, dublin, May 28, 2009

i stayed here a couple of times as the location is second to none a few minutes to most parks and shopping malls and countless restaurants and shops within walking distance and a trolley stop at the gate, the room are basic and the decor looks like something from the seventies as our kids got older we need more space so are unlikely to go back,

3 of 5  Time for this hotel to have a revamp!, A TripAdvisor Member, Cornwall, Canada, May 5, 2009

I have just come back from a two week holiday in orlando. We stayed at the quality inn on international drive. this is the second time we have stayed here the last time was in 2006. Although our room was okay the bed linen was clean and the towels changed everyday, the rooms need to have a good revamp. I think most people travelling with children would prefer a double bed and two singles instead of two doubles.International drive has lost some of the shops but there are new ones going in all the time. food is not cheap anymore breakfast for three adults and one child was around $32.00 at sizzlers and $21.00 at ponderosa, that makes a total of $448 for two weeks on breakfast alone. One of the best things i bought was a kids eat free card from virgin holidays rep did save money with that you just show it to the cashier as you order. The weather was fab and is now, pity i couldn't bring it back.Had a evening meal at the planethollywood cost $70.00 for pretty basic meal with only coke to drink, em the money just keeps totting up on food alone.Love all the theme parks went to all but wet and wild. If i ever go back to orlando, i think i would looking for somewhere else to stay maybe a disney hotel or a villa dont know any way any questions just drop me line

So to sum up the hotel okay but needs a revamp, people where really helpful in the lobby

3 of 5  Ghosts in room 1170!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, florida27, May 3, 2009

Do not stay in room 1170. I booked a room at a great price. Our keys did not work the 1st time. Went to front desk to get the keys to work. They did not work. We had security help us to get in. Once we were in all this things started to happen. Knocks on the wall when noone was staying on either side of us. A dark shadow in the corner. Foot steps sounds in the room. A big bang on the day inside. At one point one pillow looked like something was pokingin it. A great room if your a gost hunter!!

3 of 5  Great as a base to explore, A TripAdvisor Member, Manchester, May 1, 2009

While the rooms in this hotel are a little basic; as a base to explore Orlando and surrounds, you won't do much better.

The on-site shop also has a great range of goods, and with the hotel having access to both Sand Lake road and International Drive, it's really easy to get to the main attractions.

Access to the site is controlled by 24-hr manned security.

While the rooms are a little basic, the cleanliness could not be faulted.

We (two adults, two girls, 12 and 9)tended to make a late start, making liberal use of the magnetic (Good Idea) 'Do Not Disturb' sign, and we weren't disturbed. The only day the room wasn't cleaned and made up for us was the day we forgot to take the sign off the door when we left for the parks.

We kept our bottles of water, juice, etc in the fridge and I used the coffee machine in the room nearly every morning. Good job I didn't just want hot water for a cup of tea, but I suppose if I was desparate I could have used the Microwave in the room.

The hair dryer got some use, but the real hit was the free 24-hr Disney Channel on the in-room TV.

I would have no hesitation in using this hotel again. It is ideally situated as a base to explore Orlando and all you really want is somewhere to get your head down and store all the junk you take with you anyway

3 of 5  good Value - just what you need as a base for exploring Orlando, A TripAdvisor Member, Edinburgh, Scotland, April 27, 2009

We stayed at the Quality Inn International inMay/June 2008 and found it an ideal base for exploring Disney etc. It is basic, but that's what you expect for the money you pay. Staff were helpful, taxi rank right outside reception with great town cars at a reasonable price and because of it's location, great access to the restaurants on Idrive. Bus stops right outside as well as a safe road crossing. Secure site - cars can only enter after stopping by a security booth. We had a great view from our top floor room, which was clean and just what we've come to expect from hotels in this area. We didn't use the restaurant on site because of all the others on idrive but it was always busy and seemed a popular choice. The shops on site were great, but it was cheaper to use the supermarket down the road....Only downside was that some of the payphones weren't working and the pool was always REALLY busy. But we were too busy to be concerned with laying by the pool anyway.

3 of 5  DID THE JOB, A TripAdvisor Member, uk, April 26, 2009

we just returned from this hotel it did the job to be fair. it had 2 heated pools with free towels. the rooms where cleaned every day if a bit outdated the bar was like being in a english pub and did pizzas til midnight. There was a supermarket , resturant and small games room for the kids, very central location on international drive and near the motorways to take you to disney. Yes it did the job for us as we were always out and about all day as you say you get what you pay for..

3 of 5  Good value, excellent location, A TripAdvisor Member, Essex, UK, April 19, 2009

Booked hotel as part of a package holiday. Had some reservations about staying after reading reviews on this site. However, all was fine. The room was clean and the service from the hotel's maintenance department when the tap in the bathroom wasn't working was exemplary. Location is perfect for all the attractions. We had a room facing the fountain and had no problem with noise. Had one meal in hotel which was fine - there are plenty of other places to eat, and in the end we hardly spent any time in the room as we were too busy!

3 of 5  Very good if your on a budget, A TripAdvisor Member, plymouth,england, April 13, 2009

Stayed here back in October last year and while the hotel wasn't the best i've stayed in, you really can't fault the price and the location. The rooms were always pretty clean with a fridge and a microwave for quick snacks, i had a good time here and if im ever back i would consider this hotel.

3 of 5  Give it a chance, A TripAdvisor Member, Mackinaw City, Michigan, April 12, 2009

We stayed in two rooms at this location. The exterior is not as appealing but the rooms are actually nice. The bedding and towels are all new and the housekeepers keep the rooms very clean. The only thing I did not like was the bathroom. It was really small and the shower/ tub was very narrow. The hotel is centrally located amongst the amusment parks. The lobby is packed full of information and helpful faces. There is a very nice courtyard in the middle of all the buildings with a cute little fountain. They have a restaurant located just off the lobby and the food is amazing. if you are taking a trip to Orlando, the price is right for this hotel.

3 of 5  Getting a bit dated now, A TripAdvisor Member, madaboutdolphins, March 24, 2009

I have stayed at this hotel every 2 years since 1998 and on our last visit we decided that the next time we return we will stay somewhere else. Sorry to say but in the last 10 years the only things that have changed are the bed spreads and a lick of paint. The staff have always been very friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is in an excellent location on International Drive near to all of the parks and many restaurants. I think if the hotel was updated I would certainly return.

2 of 5  Will not stay there again, A TripAdvisor Member, Rio de Janeiro, April 26, 2009

I was forced to stay at this hotel because of a package holiday. I wasn't expecting much, but I was still disappointed. Our room was very dirty. A previous guest left nails on the floor next to the bed, and they remained there throughout our stay, even though the carpet was supposedly shampooed.

The only good things about the hotel were the location and the free wi-fi in the lobby.

2 of 5  Won't be returning., A TripAdvisor Member, North West, UK, March 31, 2009

Having previously stayed at the Quality Inn International (or Quality Inn "Low Q" as it's known locally), I had no hesitations about staying there again. The rooms are basic, you get what you need although the free safety deposit box in room was a nice touch. However, the last time we arrived, the room we were allocated was grubby, damp, had a very noisy air con unit and the room generally was in need of a huge overhaul with regards to the decor; the walls had brown damp stains on them, the bath had obviously been painted white at some point and the paint was peeling. We did think about complaining but as our relatives, who came with us but were in a different room, had similar issues, we concluded that it would be a pointless exercise.

It's a real shame the management can't keep on top of general maintenance. Nobody wants to stay in a room which doesn't look clean and looked after. This hotel is in a prime location (probably the most central one on I-Drive) but that's all your paying for. The staff are extremely friendly though but unfortunately this isn't enough to make me want to return there.

1 of 5  AVoid AVOID AVOID!, A TripAdvisor Member, London, June 9, 2009

Staff in the Restaurant, Shop, Bar and Front desk were extremely nice and helpful.

Staff at Guest services and the General manager were extremely rude and arrogant! Do NOT book your excursion tickets through them they are a rip off!

We had 3 rooms all were filthy, bathrooms stunk after cleaning, decoration was from the dinosaur era even dinosaurs would not have been impressed. Everyone suffered some sort of rash from the bedding, which was filthy and extremely irritating and itchy in the sun! Air conditioning was ineffective and broke down more than once! The noise from the motorway was ridiculously loud! On the second week the hotel decided to start putting new tarmac in the car park which our room was facing which meant not only was there limited parking spaces but also they started work at 7AM in the morning. When you pay over £4000 pounds for a hard earned holiday you DO NOT want to be woken up at 7AM EVERYDAY by a group of workmen on tractors and steamrollers! We were misinformed that it was a 3star, Management were "sorry" !

Would have rated it zero if it let me!

1 of 5  Avoid Avoid Avoid!, A TripAdvisor Member, Edinburgh, June 7, 2009

I can't believe that Thomas Cook SIGNATURE offer this 'hotel' to their paying customers. Nasty, ugly, 1970's decor, desk staff and manager very unfriendly - no concept of the meaning of SERVICE. I can't begin to explain all the problems we experienced during our stay. Do yourself a favour, spend a little more and stay elsewhere on International Drive. The only good thing about it was the close proximity to Pointe Orlando.

I only gave it a 1 overall because it won't let me choose a lower rating.

1 of 5  Disgusting, Feces Stained Mattress, A TripAdvisor Member, Warren, MI, June 7, 2009

This place was the most disgusting, dirty, old, neglected and pathetic motel i personally have ever experienced. The outside walkways were neglected, trash filled and dirty. The room continued that theme with old stained carpeting, worn mattresses (more on THAT later in the review) dressed up with dollar store linen and bedspreads. The TV reception was horrible and the free wifi was nonexistant.

With all this being said we were in Orlando to see the sights not hang at the hotel so I suppose it met some low standard of acceptable or so i thought.

When looking for a missing article in the room i lifted up the mattress and found the most disgusting unsanitary surprise of my life. There was a huge poop stain on the mattress. I'm talking probably 2 feet by 2 feet. Management at this "not-so" Quality Inn probably thought long and hard about what to do about this issue before the light bulb came on. We'll just flip the mattress....problem solved!!!!

Checked out immediately and went to the Fairfield Inn on Canada Ave where the public areas were acceptable the the mattresses poop-free.

1 of 5  Only stayed half an hour - that was enough!, A TripAdvisor Member, Scotland, April 22, 2009

We booked into this hotel as it was nice and central for theme parks etc. Was a little worried it wouldn't be nice but thought it would be OK. It seemed fairly clean, however, it was dark, dingy and the furniture and fittings were ancient. I didn't feel at all safe, we were on the ground floor on a corner and I didn't like the idea of being there on an evening. Outside area felt a bit like a concentration camp, the whole place was just awful. We stayed for thirty minutes then left and booked a hotel and then a villa for the rest of the holiday. Yes, it's cheap and you don't spend much time there but I couldn't bear it another minute! Not recommended!

1 of 5  Please dont book!!, A TripAdvisor Member, WARRINGTON, UK, April 1, 2009

2 audlts and 1 child. I read the reviews did my homework. Basic no problem only sleeping there. Turned up it was worse than a chalet in butlins back in the 70's. Smelt of damp, bathrooms old dated and got knows what lurked in the cracks (speaking from a nurses point of view and infection control. When we arrived my I was in tears, looked like a council flat estate somewhere rough. Concrete stairs, lifts full of dust. Bedding and towels changed daily, friendly staff but when virgin gave it a rating of 3 I expected travel lodge basic not squadies basic. Cockroaches, problems with locals at night. Evenutally got move to marriott just behind international drive, much nicer, quiter and even get carpet. Now my daughter can sleep at night and apparently price is similar to stay here. Not a snob live in a 3 bed ex council house semi -detached but everyone needs to fell safe and comfortable at night. A tent would have been prefrable.!!! And the location on international drive is like being in blackpool!! Try the other end its lovely.
