This is a basic motel with lots of amenities. It was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was a lot better than comparable chains. They also give you free newspapers and the staff is friendly. I'd definitely stay here again.

Booked this hotel bcause it is quite close to Busch Gardens, it is in a very nice area with quite a few places to eat nearby. Breakfast is limited and busy. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have showers only. A very nice warm pool and towels are provided. I made it a point to stay in this hotel again after staying here two years ago, and it is still a great place to stay while on vacation. The breakfast is adequate, and we all had a comfortable and quiet sleep the entire trip. I will continue to stay at this location. I stayed here mostly because of it's proximity to where I needed to be in the morning which was business-related. This facility is located in a cluster of a few other hotels close to the interstate so convenience is a plus. My room on the first floor was comfortable enough and clean. I especially liked the large stand-alone shower with dedicated lighting. I also liked the comfortable mattress. The breakfast buffet was adequate, if minimal. There was only one other guest present at 7 am. There is a Bob Evans within walking distance however, other dining options are within a few miles drive. Overall, this hotel is a good option for someone on a budget if you want to go to Busch Gardens, which was the reason of our trip to Tampa. It's about 10 minutes from the park in a quiet area surrounded by a couple of other hotels, conveniently close to I-75. The rooms were not bad, but you can tell the property is not new. What makes the rooms interesting is the big showers (no tubs), which contrast with your typical tiny hotel tubs. Bed was not bad, but you could tell it did it had its years of use. The sheets were clean but also not new or the best quality. Staff was nice, however I believe that only when a problem arises, you can put to a test the staff's hospitality. This was the case with us; I'm a super light sleeper. My room had a "new" air conditioning wall unit which automatically shut itself off completely once the desired temperature was reached. Going from the nice humming to an absolute silence every 20 minutes was something I could not sleep though. I tried looking for a switch to override the automatic fan and make it a continous fan, but it seems these new units don't have that, at least in an accesible place. Since we had arrived very late (midnight), the front desk girl offered to come herself and take a look.... I declined, noticing by our conversation that she was pretty clueless. The next day, the front desk clerk gets me the manager since she (another attendant) also didn't know anything about the a/c units. The manager, a guy who seemed Australian by his accent, wasn't the most polite and helpful person. He went into technicalities about why the units shuts off and how "customers have broken my a/c units beacuse they leave them running continously". Only after saying that there was no way I could sleep 2 more nights with such an intermittent a/c unit, he offered to move me to a room with an "older" a/c unit, which indeed had the override switch and I could have it in continous fan and finally get some sleep. Problem solved, but, it seems almost all rooms in this hotel have these automatic a/c units. Are they all like that, or were they rigged by this manager so that "they don't freeze and get damaged", who knows. Anyways, he does need some serious hospitality training. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Staff was extremely helpful/courteous. Rooms were clean, though you could tell it was a older hotel. Pool area was nice. The only con was that the room service woke you up at 8:30 for check-out when you had to be out by 11. Over all, had a great stay for the price we payed! I recommend hotel! This is a basic motel with lots of amenities. It was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was a lot better than comparable chains. They also give you free newspapers and the staff is friendly. I'd definitely stay here again. I stayed at this hotel for several nights while waiting on housing in the area. It's in a good location. The hotel is in a safe, quiet area, right off I-75 and near 275 as well. That alone made me want to stay here as many Temple Terrace/Busch Gardens area hotels are in bad neighborhoods. Allow me to make a list of Pros and Cons. If you pay around 50 dollars a night, which I did at first, you get a decent value for your money. However, it's a different story if you must pay more than that. Allow me to make a list of Pros and Cons Pros -Free Breakfast (more on that later in Cons) -Free Wireless Internet Access -Free Local Calls -A few rooms have microwave/minifridge (not many) -Interior Corridors, unlike the $35-40 a night dumps on the other side of Fletcher Ave. and surrounding area. -Rooms have desks for a work area. Cons -Free Breakfast ends at 9 am!! And it only consists of juice, a couple different kinds of cereal, white bread, and biscuits. Sometimes they have waffle batter out, and packaged bagels, but those are picked over quickly and the staff doesn't restock very well. -Checkout is at 11 am, but the maids start to bother you much earlier, sometimes at 8-9 am. You get the feeling you're being driven out. -The place is OK inside, but you get the impression it needs a bit of a renovation. Some carpets are stained, door knobs loose, etc. It's usually just little things, but it's noticeable. -Most rooms do not have a hairdryer, iron/board, or coffee maker. -I also believe not all rooms get as many TV channels (like HBO) as others. If you care, be sure to ask at check-in. So despite all of the drawbacks, this place isnt't that bad. It really depends on the price you pay. In the 50 dollar range, it's a good deal. However, once you get in the 60 dollar and up territory (which the rates can frequently climb into), nicer hotels can be had for the money. This Sleep Inn has a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a budget hotel, or is it a nicer hotel catering to the business traveller? It ends up falling in the middle.

This used to be a great place to stay, but lately it hasn't been so great. We have been staying there since the mid 90's, but we will not be staying there again. Basically, the staff and management will tell you anything to shut you up, but will not address the problem. We complained about a loose shower head for 3 days before anything was done. We were told our bill would be adjusted at check-out, it wasn't. We were told we would receive a free night at the hotel, we didn't. We have complained to Choice Hotel Int, but nothing has been done. So much for the 100% satisfaction guarantee! This suite should not have been rented to us. We checked in & then found the tv, micro, refrig missing rom the suite. An opening with hinges but No door seperating the bedroom/living room. Also, renovations on hallway leading to the pool, resulting in going around outside to the back of the building to reach the pool. As a result, we didn't use the pool (neither did we notice anyone else). We would not stay there again & would not recommend it to anyone.
