Slightly shabby but great lake

2 of 5  Slightly shabby but great lake, A TripAdvisor Member, London UK, September 26, 2007

We had a parlour suite which was a huge room, two double beds, two TV's, a fridge, a microwave oven and a sofa area. The bathroom was so small, the basin was situated outside of the bathroom near the bed which made me think of a bedsit.

There were a few crickets sitting about the room which made me a bit itchy. The room felt a bit shabby as it had not been decorated for about 20 years.

The good things about the hotel was the view over the lake. There is a very small beach which you can lay on and watch the speed boats coming in. There is also a great bar and restaurant within the hotel grounds. However, I wouldn't recommend it until the hotel has decided to spend some money on the rooms and modernise them.

5 of 5  Room with Best View!, A TripAdvisor Member, UK, February 27, 2008

Having booked this Location to stay, I then went and checked the reviews.

These left me feeling that I had made a Mistake, but how wrong I was!!

Initial Check-in could have been smoother,as the receptionist was more eager to answer her cell phone that get us Checked In(Very Rude).

I had two rooms booked, and was amazed at the Quality of the Fittings and fixtures. Both had adequate sleeping space 6 adults(Although we were a group of 2 & 3).

The Rooms had basic bathrooms(But functional & Clean),each room a 2(YES! 2!!) large LCD TV's. And amazing comfortable beds

( 2 Doubles and a Double Pull-out).

Rooms were equipped with very generous Storage and clothes hanging space,as well as a Microwave, refrigerator and freezer. There was also a vocher to get 1 free bag of ice per day also.

Both rooms had a Balcony with stunning views of Lake Havasu.

Air conditioning was great, but overflows outside were running onto the concrete floor and posed a dangerous slipping hazard(I called their Maintenance people, who took 2 calls to get them to deal with it.

The Restaurant was clean, but had flies buzzing around, food was good value(Breakfast Only),but was let down by a member of the waiting staff who came across as arrogant and quite rude!

Checking out was laborious and SLOW,and it took a Manager to resolve things after errors in the Bill were found.

Overall a Great place to stay (Especially if you have a Boat or water sports kit)

5 of 5  MUCH better than the reviews, A TripAdvisor Member, Boston, February 24, 2008

We arrived in Lake Havasu late and the day and without a reservation. The reviews here scared us off a bit. I am glad we took a chance and booked the room because we were delightfully surprised. We got a great deal -- a huge room (sitting area with big screen tv, fabulous patio overlooking the lake, large refrigerator and microwave, modern bath, 2 large beds and another big screen tv -- all for $79. We could have easily slept 6 for the night. Everything was clean, quiet, check in was easy and there was a little store within a 1 min walk. The beach was just down the steps from our room. Maybe it was the month (February -- although it was 75 degrees), that made the difference, but this hotel was a great deal and exceeded our expectations.

5 of 5  paradise found, A TripAdvisor Member, UK, August 20, 2007

I enjoy a good moan as much as the next middle-aged grump and I was so looking forward to laying into this hotel. So, what a great surprise to find that this was one of our absolute favourite stopping points on a recent fly drive.

Sure, it needs a bit of investment in the rooms but the place is absolutely vibrant and alive with a wide cross-section of people having a great time. The atmosphere of this place equates almost to Las Vegas! Well, maybe not quite that extreme but still a smashing place to spend a few days. The room had two huge, flat-screen televisions, a microwave, a fridge and a balcony with a magnificent view over the lake. The staff could not have been more helpful.

We left the resort feeling kind of cheated out of a good, British grumble. Choose this place if you enjoy enjoying yourself. It is wonderful and on our list of places to revisit one day.

5 of 5  Where the Action is!, A TripAdvisor Member, Oceanside, Ca., December 4, 2003

I choose this hotel because of Location and this is a great location if you have a boat ..the people here were great. the rooms are fine, clean but pricey but it's worth it because of the beach thats right outside your room ..also a private boat launch and pleanty of parking too!..our Family loved this place

4 of 5  Loved lake Havasu, A TripAdvisor Member, Brighton, UK, May 3, 2006

We stayed here for one night as part of our 'King of the Road' tour and it was one of the most rewarding stops. Yes the hotel is rather tired but the rooms are large and the views over the lake incredible. The plumbing and facilities were fine in our suite. The pool was clean, empty and with towels! The watersports from the jetty were great we loved the jetskis expecially as the lake was quiet and no speed limit. The free breakfast was fine (bagel, coffee, fruit) just make sure you have your voucher. Overall we found Lake Havasu an interesting place and the people very friendly. I agree that the English Village is rundown and tatty and not worth visiting but there were plenty of other restaurants and bars to visit in the city. Overall a great stopoff.

4 of 5  Cheapest place to stay on the river, A TripAdvisor Member, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, August 4, 2005

Stayed 4th of July weekend 2005. While the Nautical Inn isn't the nicest place to stay on the river, it is the cheapest. Compared to paying $350-$500+ a night at the London Bridge or Queens Bay (and if I could have afforded it I would have stayed at the London Bridge, a friend stayed there the same weekend and it was amazing! Fun and so nice!) The nautical inn will run you about $225 a night. The new naked turtle bar is really nice and they have a great restaurant with good food over looking the river. They have a nice beach to dock your boat on and leave overnight so theres no launching each morning. The rooms are not the greatest but they have two sinks and a seperate vanity table which comes in handy for woman sharing the same room. I would stay at the Nautical Inn again but prefer the London Bridge any day!

4 of 5  Great Get Away In the late fall, A TripAdvisor Member, Fountain Hills,Az., May 25, 2005

We wanted some time away from the normal city and work.We stayed at the Nautical on the island .The beach suites and the executive suites were great. The stay was fun and restful.Make sure to check the calendar for upcoming events, its busy. Quiet isn't a given. The city plans a lot of activites for all ages. The view was like an Hawaii view from our room, also the water is so close to you its soul healing for a weary employer. The staff was extra friendly. Tropical it isn't, however the fun, the small town, the people make it easy to go back.

p.s. Terrific shore play for families. The water is about 25 feet from your room, with a balcony. with daily raked sand!!!!!Very clean .

4 of 5  An oasis in the heat of summer, A TripAdvisor Member, August 17, 2004

Great place to keep your boat; Good sized room, comfortable beds, a few bugs, but heh-this is the desert. Reasonable rates, friendly staff

4 of 5  always love it, A TripAdvisor Member, los angeles, ca, February 8, 2004

I have been going to Lake Havasu for family vacations for over 20 years and started staying at the Nautical Inn every year for the last 7. Now I take my family and the Inn is just great. The rooms aren't fancy but the location and the people are great. You just can't beat being able to beach your boat right outside your front door. The cove is protected most of the time, however I have been there when some wind storms have come up and they can get a bit hairy. Especially when people don't know how to secure their vessel. Overall, a great experience for me and my family. I hope my children grow up with the great memories I did and bring their families.

4 of 5  Great Location, A TripAdvisor Member, Phoenix, AZ, January 12, 2004

It is true, the rooms are far from fancy, however the location is excellent! You are just around the cove from the London Bridge and a great bar for the evening. You can beach your boat on a nice sand beach which is a stone's throw away from you room. Basically, the location is key, you are where most of the cool stuff happens.

4 of 5  OK place, but expensive., July 1, 2002

Stayed at the Nautical Inn for 2 nights. Had a "parlor suite" overlooking the lake. 2 queens and a sofa bed, refrigerator and a sink. Room was not fancy at all and could definetly use a freshining up to modern times. Quite expensive for what I got.

On the bright side I could beach my boat in front of my room so it was always ready for action. The people were very nice.

3 of 5  Not too bad, A TripAdvisor Member, Los Angeles, June 4, 2008

This hotel is a basic lake front hotel/motel. No frills. If you have a boat, it is nice to be able to just pull up to the shore, tie her down and walk to your room and be able to see the boat from there. We stayed in the Bay Rooms located in front of the "boat parking area." Yes, you can hear the music from the bar (turned down or off by 11 pm) and boats coming in and out. But for the most part, no complaints. There was good security watching the boats and keeping the peace. Was there from Wed-Mon. Definitely gets rowdy with a younger crowd on Fri and Sat.

The restaurant offers decent food for a decent price (often "resort" restaurants are too expensive for what you get). I understand that other rooms have recently been upgraded and hope they are planning to do that with the Bay Rooms because they are looking a bit old and tired. It's basically about location.

3 of 5  King of the Road, A TripAdvisor Member, Essex, September 12, 2007

Stayed here for only 1 night as part of Virgin King of The Road Tour! On arrival my husband refused to unpack the car as the back of these places is definitely 1960s budget holiday camp! However on opening the door and walking through the room the view over the lake is stunning and the rooms although basic were clean and comfortable. Only real gripes were that the wash sink was outside the bathroom and in the bedroom, and the air-con unit was really noisy! Not massive problems but think the whole place could do with modernising. Also breakfast was a half hearted effort with totally disinterested staff! Probably wouldn't go back here ... although that view is stunning!

3 of 5  If you want beachfront access ..., A TripAdvisor Member, Altadena, California, March 22, 2007

Booked the First Cabin Club vacation through Interval International. The beachfront access and view (which all rooms have) was what made our trip. But, be prepared to hear the boaters and their engines long hours of the day. First Cabin Club has an expansive enhancement plan for the property over the coming years - that should they come to fruition make the place highly marketable. I would think any place touting 'conference center' would have internet access - but for those who like that its available in town at the library and even MacDonald's.

Right now, the Nautical is good for 'spring breakers' and people of moderate expectation. The rooms are small - accommodating four - four that you better be very comfortable living with. On the upper floors, you have to invade the accommodations of 2 to access the kitchenette (an electrical 2 burner plate for a stove) and to get to the lanai. Those occupants (in the bedroom with in-room jacuzzi bath) have to invade the others' area to exit the room.

The service needs to be elevated - all the transformation in the world won't make up for service lacks. I waited for return calls for 2 days on one issue. Still most interactions with front desk and other staff were friendly and accommodating. You didn't walk away feeling like a valued guest. The club activities had low participation. Groundskeeping appeared to be well-prioritized.

All in all, we had a wonderful week - utilizing the pool, and languishing on the beachfront, taking walks with our son as he collected small shells. There are many other things to do around - all kinds of boating, quaint shopping, golfing, etc. Our purpose was to getaway and relax - and that we did.

I would stay there again, having an appropriate expectation. As a vacation exchange and not being far very from where we live, the minimal cost makes it a good value. As an Interval exchange, we've had far better accommodations (exceeding average) for the same cost.

3 of 5  It's Ok - Great Location, A TripAdvisor Member, Ocean Shores, WA, November 16, 2005

Good hotel - but in need of a remodel or makeover. Great views from hotel rooms, friendly staff, clean - but older style suite rooms.

3 of 5  Ok for a stop over., A TripAdvisor Member, Northampton, UK, October 16, 2005

We stayed at the Nautical Inn at the start of September 2005 for 1 night as part of Virgin's "King to the Road" tour.

Room was OK and was basically on the beach with a nice view of the lake. The room was a nice size but the aircon was quite noisy. The top deadlock on the door was missing. There were 2 beds, sofa, 2 tvs, fridge, microwave although the beds were not the most comfy I've ever slept in. Also, the sink had only hot water which is interesting for cleaning your teeth especially as it had the added bonus of smelling like rotten eggs at times. Gag city! Also, be prepared for a HOT shower in the hottest place we have ever been.

Our room was on the lower level on the beach which is nice except there are no ramps/lifts to get your luggage down. In 46c heat with luggage for almost a 3 week holiday almost killed us getting to and from the room and we are only 25!! An no we are not fat :)

Overall not bad for a 1 night stop over but not a place we would come to again.

We stayed here for one night as part of the king of the road tour.. my husband said it reminded him of a butlines style chalet.. the room ws very dated, although did have a small living area and we did have a balcolny over looking the lake - however as we were only there one night, during the daylight when we arrived we didnt want to sit on the balcolny as as well as the lake it over looked the bar accross a small bay and lots of young chaps and ladys revving their boat engines and playing very loud music. It did all quieten down by 8 oclock and thankful we slept well.

Room did have a connecting door so if any of the party goers hd been staying in the next room the noise would have carried through very easily

2 of 5  Run down, but great location, A TripAdvisor Member, Arizona, December 10, 2007

I booked rooms here for our baseball team's tournament in Lake Havasu. The staff was friendly but the rooms are in serious need of remodeling. My first room had no heat and we had to be moved away from our group. They did not offer any discounts for the inconvenience and I was billed incorrectly when I checked out. The lake views are great and if the rooms were updated and remodeled this would be a fabulous property. The Naked Turtle Restaurant had good food, but is very expensive. For the Sunday breakfast buffet (which is small, but good...the gentleman making the omelettes was great!) it cost my son and I $28.00!! The coffee, orange juice and milks are not included and drive the cost up substantially.

2 of 5  Not Bad, but expected more., A TripAdvisor Member, San Marcos, July 28, 2007

We stayed here for one week; we go to lake havasu every year. In the past we stayed at a hotel off the lake at the end of town. It was much cheaper there, but we wanted to stay closer to the water this time. They allow you to leave your boat on the shoreline. Seemed great, but the waves against the shore filled my boat with water each night. The rooms we average, but lacked privacy. There were two separate sleeping areas but no way to close them off. The lake view was great, it seems that all the rooms have lake views. The parking lot side of the room was loud. They are selling timeshares here I think it will be great if the plan comes to reality. Since this trip we've gone to the London Bridge Resort, so far of the three places we been to we've liked the London Bridge the best, it has Boat Docks, the one and two bedroom are seperate room from the living area. and is walking distance to many restaurants and the movie theater. We haven't stayed above the Bar at the London Bridge yet, it doesn't sound like fun. And we have never been in Havasu during Spring Break, I imagine it's crazy everywhere.

2 of 5  Ok for a stop over, A TripAdvisor Member, England, August 24, 2006

We stayed here as part of Virgin's "King of the road western tour" on the 13th July 2006.

The English village was very run down all the pubs were shut or had gone out of business, and the bridge was the only impressive thing to see.

Our room was big and confortable and the view of the lake was great! The Naked turtle beach bar was nice and the staff were very freindly, But we did feel like we were the only two english people in the whole of Lake Havasu. I can't understand why they would send us to an all American tourist destination were you felt like aliens???

The free breakfast was a discrace all I got was a muffin and the staff were very rude we didn't even get water and it was 40c outside.

Lucky for us we only stayed here 1 night as a stop over to Veags.

2 of 5  Only other competitor is London Bridge Resort; Mediocre service and staff, A TripAdvisor Member, Gilbert, AZ, January 24, 2006

Me and a few others stayed here over Memorial Day weekend May 2001, it was a while back but thought Id write a review anyhow. The only good things about this hotel is its right off the lake,, great view, and the club/bar at this hotel was pretty fun. That's it. I made a reservation a couple of months in advance- of course booked a larger room since there were several of us, I believe it was supposed to be a "parlour suite." I made a confirmed reservation with my credit card a couple of months in advance. We knew since we were arriving on a Friday nite it would be a late check-in and I told the front desk we were going to be late. I even called a couple times on the way there saying we were on our way. When we arrived after 10pm,there were a bunch of people in the lobby trying to check in, etc. The people in front of us apparently reserved a room through a website that wasn't authorized to book for the Nautical Inn. Well, even though they didnt have an official reservation, they were given our room since we supposedly didn't show up on time. I repeatedly called the front desk stating we were on our way and would be arriving. I even saw my name on a sticky note!!I was furious! We asked how could they give our room away when I had a reservation. Apparently they have a policy that if the person doesn't show up by 10pm or so, the room can be given to someone else, even though the person I called frequently, said I would be ok. Well after arguing with the staff (and no manager on duty to talk to)we were not going to leave without a room. Nautical Inn offered to "call around" and find us a room somewhere else and we all know how booked everything was for Memorial Weekend. We refused to leave- there was 8 of us, and we had just driven 4 hrs to be treated like this. After arguing for a while, they finally opted to give us a smaller room. We had to accept, though nothing was discounted, we werent given any perks for what we went through. After our stay, I was given the contact information for Mr. Skinner, the hotel manager at the time. I emailed him not once, but twice and never heard back. I was told from some residents of LHC that the Nautical Inn doesn't have alot of competition for lake-side hotels, except for the London Bridge Resort. They can basically treat guests any way they want and they'll still get reservations. We went back to LHC for Labor Day weekend, and ended up staying at the Holiday Inn- much better treatment from them and they appreciated our patronage. I will never stay at the Nautical Inn again.

2 of 5  Avoid this hotel and Lake Havasu, A TripAdvisor Member, London, England, January 24, 2006

The Nautical Inn looks and feels like a 1960's holiday camp. It is in desperate need of a complete renovation or re-build. The views from the window are excellent but the boats are very noisy. The staff are rude and unfriendly and the free breakfast offer is a conn, before ordering ask exactly what you get free. I would recommend that you eat at another restaurant in the town although be advised that there are not many restaurants in Lake Havasu. Just Wendys and McDonalds. As a whole Lake Havasu is very run down I actually wrote to their tourism board when I returned informin them of this. The British Village and park are a disgrace and like the hotel need completely renovating. If you can do the extra mileage go straight to Vegas or Palm Springs and try to avoid staying here. If you do stay makesure it is just a stop over for no longer than one night.

2 of 5  Slightly better than it looks, A TripAdvisor Member, North East England, November 15, 2005

Stayed here for 1 night which was enough. Upon arrival it looked like a 1960's holiday camp which had not been decorated for years!! However, inside the basic rooms were clean and the view over the lake were glorious.

Plastic cups in the room for coffee set the trend for the quality of the place. The pool had 2 sun lounges next to it and no towels. The pool itself was filthy and smaller than an average size bath tub.

Lake Havasu itself wasn't worth the stay either, wish we had passed it by en route to the Grand Canyon.

Staff were very curt and off also.

Won't go back.

2 of 5  Acceptable, A TripAdvisor Member, UK, July 19, 2005

Only stayed at this Hotel for one night, thank goodness. Beds were clean enough, but the room was a bit dark and basic. Room was large and did contain a fridge, and an ancient sofa which I wouldnt sit on for fear of catching something. More of an old fashioned holiday camp chalet in need of redecoration.

It is okay if you are not that fussy and just there for the outdoor life with your boat and use your room as a sleep station, but I would not recommend it if you like comforts.

Wonderful view outside the room

2 of 5  More Port than Resort!, A TripAdvisor Member, Riverside, CA, June 27, 2005

Mediocre rooms with subpar bathrooms (we found a 3 inch bug and cobwebs in ours!).

One positive is that the in-room air conditioners are loud but definitely work well, and ours was cranked up when we arrived. The fridge works too, although it had no temperature adjustment. A second positive is that the convenience store on premise is terrific, well stocked with a friendly staff.

The restaurant was useless for food. We got takeout our first night and they managed to charge us over $50 (before tip) for boardwalk food consisting of a small pizza and two sandwiches. We tried to eat out on the patio but could not manage to order 3 burgers after waiting behind a single guy for at least 10 minutes at the "drink station". I didn't even want to know how long it would have actually taken to get those burgers -- so I gave up. I hear they have rentals but the line to get one was at least 10 people deep so I gave up on that too. And they have this neat water thing for kids but it looks like it is only good for older kids and is setup like an expensive babysitting service, not really as a feature of the resort (i heard they charge like $10/hour per kid).

The bay beach is rocky. The other beach was a bit nicer but covered wall-to-wall with docked boats with the exception of the area set aside for the kids playground baby sitting service. They also refused to extend checkout to 12, required that you checkout in person at the registration center, and I got an offer to hear about their conversion plans to condos for a well-deserved room discount but was told that if my spouse didn't attend they would be "breaking state law" to extend the offer to me individually. Uh-huh...I'm sure that's not the only fib they were ready to hawk me on that deal!

Probably the best part of the trip for us was visiting the local B&B brewhouse for food and homebrewed beer and taking the ferry across the river. Yes, the best part of our trip had NOTHING to do with the Nautical Inn. That should tell you something. There was a regatta this weekend but I hardly saw a single sailboat from the Nautical Inn's location.

Oh and if you get a good offer for a weekend through their website or email program FORGET ABOUT IT. You'll have a better chance of getting through the White House to George Bush than getting to the reservation desk to take advantage of the offer. By the time you do get to them, it'll be sold out. Trust me, I had tried several times over the last year. If I had known more about the place, I wouldn't have bothered!

All and all, if I had a boat, this might be a decent place to crash if it weren't so expensive. But it is, and I would suggest if you want a resort experience that your money will go much further elsewhere.

2 of 5  in dire need of a makeover, A TripAdvisor Member, marketbosworth, August 26, 2004

We stayed at the Nautical Inn in mid-August 2004.

We were somewhat apprehensive, having read the various reviews before our stay. Our findings were that the room was much better than expected-alot of space, well equipped and with an excellent view over the lake. The staff were generally very friendly and efficient. The grounds are well looked after, almost manicured in parts.

However, the grounds apart, the whole fabric of the place is in dire need of refurbishment. It was built in the 60's and really looks the part, but not in a nostalgic way.The buildings are really ugly.Parts of the resort are also really tatty...a rusting bar-b-que by the pool,a host of weird blue waste bins (everywhere),which have been painted white gloss, but with the paint peeling off, poor quality fittings and fixtures in the bedrooms......

For a resort with alot of space the pool is extremely small...and also not well cared or provided for...only 3 sun loungers for the whole resort !

The restaurant was not to be recommended...poor food and devoid of any atmosphere.

All in all,not bad accomodation and perhaps a reasonable stopover place for one night maximum(in our case between Grand Canyon and L.A.),but certainly not to be recommended for a longer stay (unless you are there for the lake and boating)

2 of 5  what a rip off, A TripAdvisor Member, rancho , ca, April 29, 2004

well if you stay on the older side its a dump,it really bad, now the newer side is nice, but wild lots of partys, nosie thoughout the nite. room rates are way over priced!! over all c-,used to like it when the rates were 149.00 now 349.00 you can rent homes at that rate..

2 of 5  What a weird construction, A TripAdvisor Member, Gloucestershire, UK, March 13, 2004

What a weird place! The room was lovely on first inspection; decent bedroom area, large bathroom/vanity area and a lounge with two TVs, a fridge and a microwave, a balcony and stunning views of the lake and sandy beach. Then someone upstairs flushed the toilet? It sounded as if the water was flowing down through the wall cavities and not in pipes!

Emptying of the bath/shower was even worse. The restaurant was OK, nothing special. I'd imagine that in high season the place would be unbearable, but when quiet it's very pleasant.

1 of 5  Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed In !!, A TripAdvisor Member, CA, September 2, 2008

This hotel was so awful, we almost checked out the same night we checked in. The only reason we didn't, was because it would be a 5-hour drive through the desert at night, so we drank our way through it. And I don't drink. First of all, they tacked a $15 "resort fee" onto the price of the hotel that they failed to mention during reservation. The fee covers, among other things, the Water Park, but they only allow you to use it for 1/2 hour. You may "purchase" more time in the water if you so desire. However, we didn't have that opportunity because there was a chain across the entrance and a sign stating it was closed. Great. The entire "resort", to use the term loosely, was crammed with about 2,000 screaming partyers. Every boat had different music blasting from it -- rap, country, rock, etc., all competing against each other. The room itself was a dump, which looked like it was spit out of a way-back machine from 1972. Very depressing; old, cheap, stained, really ugly stuff they threw in there. Upon unwrapping the handsoap, it crumbled in my hand, so apparently it had been there since 1972, as well. There was a sign warning about the water being brown. Lovely. The msg machine was blinking and had 5 old messages on it for a previous tenant. This is a hot town, 100- plus degrees in summer, and there was not a tree or bush in sight, accept for some shadeless Palm trees. The place is all cement blocks and pavement. The buildings are strangely painted in bright, gaudy colors. But the worst thing about this place was when I checked out, the woman told me to wait while she radioed a staff member to check my room to see if I'd damaged it during my 1-night stay. I pretty much told her to shove it and took my receipt. She said she'd notify me if they found that I'd trashed it. I'm 60 years old. All this fun cost me $210, unless they try to blame some old broken down faucet or stain on me. I'll let you know.

1 of 5  Horror Show, A TripAdvisor Member, chicago, May 27, 2008

This place is a dump! I stayed there with my two year old after being reassured that it was a family friendly establishment. This couldn't be further from the truth. The hotel allowed college kids to pile into a single room & party into the wee hours. When I complained, they informed me that it was Spring Break and I should have been prepared to deal with rowdy behavior. The rooms have not been updated since the 70s and they have a very pungent smell of beer and cigarettes. unless you're 20 and interested in splitting the room rate 10 ways, I would advise steering clear of these appalling accomodations.

1 of 5  Don't waste your money on this hotel!, A TripAdvisor Member, Saskatchewan Canada, April 3, 2008

We originally booked for 2 days as wanted a beachfront place with access to pool and hot tub. We were very dissappointed with the cleanliness of the room . The main sink stopper was broke, the bathtub took about 1 hr. to drain after filling, coffee carafe was cracked and had a dangerously sharp edge. There was a caution sign about the water and how it might run brown but not to worry just leave it off for 15 minutes and don't run any hot water.....then on top of this caution they have the nerve to charge you $5.00 if you drink the two small bottles of bottled water in the room. The swimming pool was disgustingly dirty and not heated. The hot tub was so low on water that it was sucking air and the water was really dirty. When brought to the attention of the mgr. security came over and barricaded it off admitting that there was no chlorine in the water and that their pool person was obviously not doing their job. As far as I'm concerned this pool and hot tub has been like that for several days maybe weeks and obviously management was not doing their job either not to notice it. We got our money refunded for the 2nd night stay and moved over to the Algave Hotel overlooking the London Bridge. A very nice, clean hotel with beautiful view comfortable huge beds, whirlpool tub etc. and all for less money than we were paying at the Nautical Hotel.

1 of 5  Terrible stay..., A TripAdvisor Member, Denmark, August 6, 2007

We booked a room, and when we arrived, we had to pay extra fees for various things. Things like icecubes, ½ hour in a waterpark, using a golfcourse, and oter stuff we didn't ask for, and didn't use!!

The water was poisoned, or at least not drinkable. And the people form the staff, that we taked to, was absolutely not friendly! -DON'T GO THERE!

If you compare the hotel to a college dorm room built in the early 60's and not really updated since, you're there.

If you're a college student now and headed for spring break, you'll be in familiar surroundings.

To call this place a dive would be an insult to other dives. The views are nice, but every hotel in Havasu has a good view.

The walls were thin, it was very easy to hear the people next to you, whether it was drunken college boys on spring break or a crying baby. We had one on either wall.

Linens are nearly vintage, and fixtures as inexpensive as they come. The bath tub was a drop in fiberglass beauty. The carpeting looked like it served a previous life at an airport or maybe a casino and was rolled straight over the cement slab floor.

There were no ceiling lights, just old, ugly lamps with 25 watt bulbs. No true kitchenettes, they had a tiny sink, a bar fridge and a small microwave. The beds were old and felt like cardboard. The linens were clean.

Two bottles of water were supplied with the room, and the notes on them cheerfully told you that if the bottles weren't easily seen in the room, you'd be charged $3.50 for them. Same with the towels. There were no ice makers, not in the rooms, not at the inn. You could get ice at the check in desk or the gift shop. When they're open. For $1.50.

One 2nd floor broken window showed clearly that this Inn has completely disregarded AZ safety glass regulations. Big shards capable of killing those below were lying about, more available in the window.

One large, plastic drum was available outside each front door for easy trash collection. Or vomiting, whichever ...

The restaurant was closed for remodeling.

The Naked Turtle was cute. The bar type food was decent, the staff helpful. Their "Turtle" themed drinks were lovely, but loaded. Buying a bucket for the table more or less guaranteed the need for either a designated driver or pizza delivery later that evening when the club closed.

They'll try (really hard) to sell you on the time share presentation. Supposedly in the next 3 to 5 years this hovel they're shilling as paradise is to be ripped down for time share replacement condominiums.

A good move on their part.

Stay at the Hampton Inn or at the London Bridge Resort.

Not here. It's awful.

1 of 5  Noisy, bug infested and run down, A TripAdvisor Member, Harpenden, August 11, 2004

Only reason for staying here would be if you have a boat - otherwise stay away!

This place is a complete dump. Dirty, smelly, has bugs, and God knows what else. The best thing about this place is leaving it knowing you don't ever have to come back. If you must stay here, don't pay more than $35 for the room. Oh, and don't let the "remodeled!" pitch fool you. My review above is that of a "remodeled" room.
