After checking online about Lake Havasu,we thought it sounds a really good place to visit, whilst on holiday in AZ.Checked into our motelSuper 8,good location just a short walk from London Bridge, resort. The bridge was the only thing that resembled London. The resort itself was dirty, and very run down. The double deck bus wasparked up.It was rusty, dusty and looked like it was ready for the scrap yard. The so called English Pub,was closed, the windows were broken, everything else was boarded up.What a big dissapointment this was.We expected better. On the plus side, great views across the lake towards California. We would not recommend this resort for a visit.

We came from California on a road trip and arrived at the evening after several hours of driving. It was already dark, so we did not take the time to look around all over the place. Maybe we should have done this... Only needed a place to stay until next morning to head out to Kingman. The guy at the desk, an older man, was very friendly, no problem when I gave him my German driver´s license (yes, I experienced problems with this in several other parts of the U.S). Check-in was made within minutes, the entry card for the room worked without any problems. Well, and the room... + room was big enough + refrigerator + A/C worked fine and was not too loud + bathroom was clean with fresh towels and packaged soap/shampoo + breakfast was okay, everything was there, but you should not expect too much + location is close to the bridge, the lake, places to eat, gas station nearby + price was low at US$ 49 + tax - window was blocked and could not be opened (I assume there were people before who left the window open with the A/C running at full power) - the beds had two matresses one above the other, and the lower ones...let´s say, I hope the nasty, big stains on the lower ones were only Coca-Cola, and not something else. Bedclothes and upper matresses were clean, but... - stains on the ceiling, I prefer not to think about from what they came - bathroom was clean, but a bit muggy - furniture looked very worn out - the breakfast area consisted of two tables squished into a corner, with a big, howling fan on a chair near us - there is an entrance door that allows you to directly enter the corridor to the rooms without passing the desk, and it seems to be open all night. Under security aspects, I really have concerns about this. - over all, the whole place felt a bit scruffy and used We only had a short look on the pool, but did not use it. So no judging about it. Not a lot of guest there that day, so it was calm. If you are on a budget and do not get scared easily, it might be okay. Otherwise, stay clear of this location and look for something else (and pay a bit more). My wife and me do not have big demands when we stay somewhere just for the night, so this location was only just acceptable, but not too pleasant. I checked the reviews for this motel here on TripAdvisor, but since we were making last minute reservations for a baseball tournament, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. It is centrally located to restaraunts, the London Bridge, etc which is a positive, and check-in was easy, but you can tell the owners do not take pride in this motel. It is not overly clean, and the door from the outside going in, is open to everyone. You did not need to use your key to get in the building. There were phone books laying in the hallway, the carpets are dirty, and there was soap stuck to the ceiling of the shower. The sheets appeared clean, as did the towels. The continental breakfast was average but they only had two tables crammed into a small lobby. The jacuzzi was cold, and the jets were spraying up instead of into the tub. My boys swam in the pool but did mention there were alot of bugs...but I won't fault them too much for that as this year has brought out alot of creatures do to our rainy winter here in AZ . I would not make this your first choice, and would only use in an emergency!! Basic budget motel, rooms are cleanish, but could do with major refurbishment. Some rooms overlook the lake, and have good views. Best way to describe this motel is "functional". Think Cheap and Semi Cheerful. Stinky, dirty, unfriendly, cheap. My son's knees were black from crawling around on the floor. All the rooms smell like smoking rooms, and the beds were only moderately comfortable. It is as cheap as you can get though within short walking distance to London Bridge. I stay at a lot of Super 8's nationwide - this one gets either a D+ or a C-. I don't have particularly high expectations but I do expect the air conditioning to work. It didn't, and in 109-degree heat. Reported it to the desk, they told me to turn it off for an hour and try again... well, that was the longest hour of my life, and it still didn't work. Demanded another room and got one, as they couldn't rent it with a broken box spring in the second bed. The staff was actually friendly and helpful, but they mentioned they had told the owners the AC has had chronic problems. The property in general appeared undermaintained. It needs a good overhaul. It was clean enough, at least for me. As previously reported, breakfast was pretty much package donuts... not unusual for Super 8's though. Strictly basic. We frequently stay at Super 8s, and this was one of the poorer ones. It sits in a bare parking lot with no landscaping. Seems to have been built on the cheap----whenever a door is closed the whole building seems to shake. The advertised breakfast is a bad joke, unless you like fatty donuts as a main course. Not even any cold cereal. Night desk guy was helpful, but the apparrent owner next morning was not. The best thing you can say for it was that it is fairly new (everything is in Havasu), but it will age rapidly. Carpet in halls stained. Screens falling off windows. Wasn't sure if sheets were clean. Stingy with towels. Continental breakfast consisted of Van De Camp donuts, bagles and coffee. Good boat parking. Room edges have not been swept in months. Probably would look for another place to stay in Havasu. It felt dirty. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in. I did not even want to touch the sheets...so I slept in my clothes and thankful I brought my pillows. The rooms are small, outdated, and dirty. We did not stay for breakfast since it was disgusting and dirty. Staff was rude at checkout when asked for a receipt. We got up at 8am and left as soon as possible and moved to another hotel down the street. I will NEVER stay there again! This place is filthy! Walked into the room with a dead cockroach laying on its back in the bathroom. Gave us another room worse than the last! Spend the extra 15 bucks and stay somewhere else! We were invited up to Havasu by friends at the last minute - and they were staying at this hotel and managed to get us rooms there. When we walked upstairs to our room, I mentioned to my husband that it was like the worst college dormitory every. The carpets were SO gross - stained, sticky, and with unknown substances ground into it. The beds are tiny and uncomfortalbe. The whole hotel smells weird and the rooms aren't any better. The water out of the faucets smelled so bad it was gagging me while I was trying to brush my teeth. Thankfully, we were on the lake nearly all day the two days we were there, so only had to contend with the rooms at night. We had planned to be on the lake early, and had hoped that the continental breakfast would be up and running so we could scarf something down before leaving. However, when we came down at 6:00 a.m. - they weren't even close to even making coffee. The next morning, we came down an hour later and the coffee was made and that was it. Thank goodness Mickey D's is just down the street. And even though I expected it to be noisy (we were there Memorial Day weekend) if you're going for quiet and relaxation you're at the wrong place. There are drunks fighting and yelling all night. Running up and down the halls, and our friends had several strangers bang on their doors throughout the night. Needless to say, we are headed back in September for Labor Day and we're staying at the Travelodge. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed walking through the parking ot was that the pool was green. I'd say it hadn't seen any chlorine in a few months, or a scrub brush for that matter. We reserved 2 rooms, and only one was ready at the check in time. They told us our room still needed towels. It's a good thing we brought our own from home, because after 4 phone calls to the front desk telling them that we needed towels and 1 trip downstairs, we never got them. Then when we finally got a chance to shower, the tub would not drain out, and when maintenance was requested, the response was, "We had a maintenance person but now we're looking for another one because he quit." (Gee, I wonder why) The front desk person finally came up aroung 10:30 at night with a plunger and a screwdriver to attempt to fix it, and finally told us that it would just take time for it to go down. There was still water about 2 inches deep an hour and a half later. 1 hr. after check in time when the second room was ready, the smell was so rancid from cigarettes and what I assume was throwup from the previous nights guests, that we had to request air freshener, which they never brought us, so we had to go to the store to buy our own, and leave the window open most of the day to air it out.The bathroom door, had a hole in it the size of a fist, and the comforters on the bed were so stained they should be thrown away and burned. I've paid a lot less for nicer motels in Las Vegas. I would definitely think twice before I stayed here. If you're planning on staying more than the weekend, I would suggest looking at houses for rent. We went last minute, otherwise we would have rented a house. My brother goes down there every summer, and it costs him $1000 to rent a house for 10 days. This hotel had the most rude staff. They gave us a "non-smoking" room that was obviously "smoking." The room hadn't been vacuumed in a week. The coded key would never let us in the room. They laughed when asked if they had a continental breakfast and then joked about our question amongst themselves but within earshot of us. Their arrogance was completely unwarranted! They called 10 min. before check out time to "remind" us. The most awful hotel I've seen.
