5 of 5  Loved the location, A TripAdvisor Member, Palm Desert, California, October 13, 2008

We booked through Hotwire. Once booked we found our stay would be at The Crown Plaza. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, with marble floors. The staff are very coutious and helpfull. They have an onsite restaurant and longe that serve excelent food. The location is key since they are just accross the street from King Harbour which has several good reataurants and night spots, as well as sport fishing, whale watching, and a great high speed boat trip. Try Tony's on the Peir. There are two.(known to locals as) "Old and New". both are good but old is the best. The "Old Tony's" has a Crows Nest, just a small place upstairs. Awsome vies and very romantic at sunset.

5 of 5  Great Stay, A TripAdvisor Member, Boston, September 30, 2008

This Crowne Plaza was our home base for us and a number of our family and friends while we were in town for our daughter's wedding. This involved 9 rooms with stays ranging from 1 to 4 nights. We preface the above info because we think it's meaningful that we heard NOT one complaint, even from family members who would not worry about sharing their feelings! However, we can only write here about our experience.

From our first conversation with Joseph Russo, who heads up the hotel's rooms division, to our check-out on the last day, we were treated with warm and welcoming professionalism. Our questions and requests were answered promptly, whether it was asking for directions from the airport or another foam pillow in the room. Our room was shiny clean, well furbished in the newest hotel style with great linens and duvets, etc., and, most important after a long trip, the rooms were ready when we arrived. We do recommend asking for a higher floor because the Redondo Beach area is very pretty to look out on. Also the hotel self-parking is a very short walk up a hotel corridor, so not much need to pay the valet charge.

In all honesty, because of what previous reviewers had written, we were a little concerned about staying here. However, we encountered just about none of those problems. The rooms were spacious, clean and kept clean during our stay. Our bathroom was updated and had all the bells and whistles. The corridors had nice carpeting and again, were clean. As everyone does seem to agree about, the lobby is gorgeous. Also several of our friends used Gold's Gym and loved it. A few of us also had several services in the hotel spa and all were unanimous: forget it. None of us ate in the hotel because there are too many good restaurants just steps away.

We don't know what the official "star" count or level is for this hotel. We can tell you that our stay was of a 5-star variety. No, it's not a brand new building or brand new anything, rather a very respectable, updated, conscientious effort, staffed by caring professionals (especially Joseph Russo and his team), who worked hard to make our stay a comfortable, even memorable, experience. It was.

5 of 5  Ideal hotel and location, A TripAdvisor Member, manchester, August 17, 2008

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights as part of 3 week tour of California. We were given an upgrade to an Ocean View room which we found very spacious and clean. Reception staff were very helpful and had a great "can do" attitude which as a hotel manager myself, think is an essential part of a successful hotel. Breakfast was good - I liked the idea of the omelet and waffle station. All public areas were clean and well presented. The outdoor pool was ok if not a little too crowded with kids! Overall we had a great stay here with no problems or concerns.

Redondo tips:-

- Use the car park next door. The hotel has valet but we found it easier and cheaper to park and collect the car ourselves. About $16 per 24hrs

- If you need Internet access use the business centre near reception as the TV Internet in the room is a little ropey

- When you come out the building TURN RIGHT. To the left is the old marina which is not the nicest of areas.

- Visit Bluewater Grill for friendly staff and great food

- Visit the Cheesecake Factory. It gets REALLY busy but it's worth it!!!

- Visit Hermosa Pier for great bars and atmosphere

5 of 5  Loved the Crowne!, A TripAdvisor Member, Colorado, August 12, 2008

Gorgeous spacious lobby upon entering the Crowne Plaza. Fresh flowers everywhere, it was wonderful. The staff was so courteous & professional. They bent over backwards at any request you had. The room was huge (after staying in Motel 6 I was ecstatic to stay at the Crowne Plaza!). I had read some other reviews of people saying the rooms were outdated. Not true! I thought the decor was fine. What do you want? A renovation every week with the latest fashion trends from L.A.? Give me a break. I loved the room and everything about the place. We had a great stay.

The hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants and it is across the street from the marina, beach and a large kids play area with a swim beach.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Also, if you Priceline it you can get the rooms for a great price last minute!

5 of 5  very satisfied, though it needs a refresh, A TripAdvisor Member, April 18, 2008

We arrived late at night, tired and frustrated from airline and airport delays and our first experience of this hotel was a smart happy receptionist helping us locate somewhere that would deliver a pizza to our room at midnight (ish). he did that, thay did that and i have to say that the hotel constantly and consistantly lived up to the early impression.

All the staff are good, no really, very good and very helpful.

We were on the 5th floor which is for priority club members (allegedly) and the room was big and spacious though overdue for a lick of paint, but hey, we were there for 2 nights, we weren't buying the place. If you are a priority club member you also get access to a lounge on the 5th floor with complimentary european breakfast, and a tea time happy hour with free, yes free wine, beer and drinks. Join the Priority club before you go though.

The loction was perfect for us, Redondo beach is quiet (apart from some beach karaoke party on Sunday night which the hotel glazing bloked completely) The hotel car park charges, but there is a huge car park just across the road which, judging by the vehicles in there is either free or cheap and seemed secure, it is also RV friendly.

We ate at the local Cheesecake Factory restaurant which was wonderful and great value (opens at 11:30am so no breakfast) ant there is a Ruby's Dner and other restaurants within a half mile walk - no shops though.

2 minor gripes

One was that the room needed a coat of paint and the other was the room lighting, the switch inside the door turns on one 20watt light, you then have to fumble in the dark to locate the other 3 switches on the desk and wall lights - wery strange.

I would revisit this hotel without one seconds hesitation. it is probably the best Holiday Inn group hotel in terms of service that I have stayed in outside of Asia.

5 of 5  Pleasantly Surprised, A TripAdvisor Member, Ann Arbor, Michigan, July 24, 2007

When looking at the hotel website, it looked like an old hotel, but when I saw it in person, it was a very nice hotel. Although a bit spread out, the rooms are very nice, with an excellent bed and a pretty good view (depending on which room you get). There is an adjoining restaurant that served made-to-order omelettes as well as other items. It is pretty expensive, but the food is excellent. There are other good breakfast places in the area that are much cheaper. The hotel is very close to the pier which has many places to eat. The hotel looked like it would have been a good place to host business functions. It does take a significant amount of time to drive into Los Angeles, but if you decide to stay in Redondo Beach, this is an excellent place to stay.

5 of 5  great hotel., A TripAdvisor Member, los angeles, ca, June 15, 2007

this is a great place to stay. we just stayed there last night, it's a wonderfully charming place with comfortable room in a beautiful location. i booked it on hotwire, so i didn't know i was getting this hotel. it was rated as a 3 star, but i think it has the comfort of a 4-star hotel. you won't regret staying here!

5 of 5  Great hotel!, A TripAdvisor Member, Maryland, November 12, 2006

My husband and I could not find anything negative about our week-long stay at the Crowne Plaza. It was just terrific! It was a long walk down two corridors to our fifth floor room, but the balcony got the sun all day, and we had a nice view of the water. The front desk staff was cordial and helpful, and the room was kept exceptionally clean and well-stocked. The room was larger than expected, and the bed was comfortable, especially the pillows and the duvet. For a 3-star hotel, it went the extra mile in hospitality, location and comfort.

5 of 5  Great Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, New Jersey, August 15, 2006

Got a great rate with Entertainment Card. Had a minor problem at check-in (only 1 of 2 rooms reserved were in the computer and rate was different) but it was rectified upon presentation of confirmation e-mail. All staff were friendly, courteous, and efficient. Rooms were nicely appointed with comfortable beds. Clock radio has CD player and relaxation CD was provided. Pool area and spa were very nice - plenty of lounge chairs, good size pool, nice spa, etc.

4 of 5  Pretty nice, and great location, A TripAdvisor Member, Springdale, Arkansas, August 5, 2008

Stayed here with a friend last fall - beds are super comfy showers are nice and the location is very good for the south bay - got a great rate on hotwire - around $70 per night. I wouldn't pay $200 for this hotel, but for less than $100 per night its a pretty good bargain for So. Cal.

You can get free parking on the streets to the south of the hotel - sometimes you might have to walk a few blocks but its worth it to save the $$$.

4 of 5  View of the ocean and Palos Verdes, A TripAdvisor Member, Bombay, June 11, 2008

I picked the hotel because it's nestled in the South Bay away from the chaos of the LA and the 405. A 5 minute drive to Palos Verdes and all the action on Hermosa Pier Avenue. Right across the street from Ruby's (awesome breakfast) and the Cheesecake factory.

4 of 5  Not bad for the $$, A TripAdvisor Member, las vegas, nv., June 9, 2008

After reading many of the negative reviews about this hotel I was somewhat skeptical about staying here. Unfortunately, my room had already been booked and paid for through Hotwire.com at $69.00 a night. Check in was a breeze and we were assigned room 2044 which had a view of Beryl, one of the side streets in Redondo. The room itself was nice, not great, but nice. The carpets could have been cleaned or even replaced and some of the furniture was "dinged up". The bed was very comfortable and pillows were abundant. The t.v. was okay, good picture, but not a great selection of channels to choose from on the menu. The bathroom was clean with a nice showerhead but the supplied bath products were just "okay". The water temperature and pressure were both very good. The room did have a sliding glass door which could be opened to allow the beautiful ocean breezes into your room, my room did not have a balcony but I noticed that some others, probably the more expensive rooms, did. A small refrigerator was inside of the t.v. armoir to allow for storing of drinks and small packages of food. The pool, on the roof of the 2nd floor, was fairly large and afforded a great view of the ocean. The pool is salt water and was heated to a comfortable temperature. We did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel, the menu did look quite pricey though for room service so we passed on that as well. The garage parking is $16 a night but is easily accessible off of Harbor Dr. and we experienced no problems. People must remember that this is SoCal, particularly the beach area and payment for parking is pretty much the norm. The location of the hotel cannot be beat, a five minute walk to the RB pier and all of it's restaurants, shops, bars and arcades. In summation I was quite satisfied with our stay and I would stay again if the right price presented itself. I would probably be disappointed if I had paid the "rack rate" as some others here did but as I did not I would recommend this place as a good base for the south bay area.

4 of 5  Excellent location and tidy hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Los Angeles, February 14, 2008

This is a great middle of the road hotel in a great location.

Rooms are large and beds comfortable. Have to say the check-in staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant breakfast was pleasant.

Loved having a pool and as it is on the roof it is somewhat sterile and could do with a few more plants and shelter.

Will definitely be back next time my girlfriends and I go shopping!

4 of 5  Great if you get a discounted rate, A TripAdvisor Member, Toronto, October 25, 2007

I spent one night here and overall was pleased. I found the bed to be comfortable, the room was a decent size, hallways were quiet and the "city view" was lovely. Also it was a short pleasant walk to the Redondo pier and beach.

On the downside:

- room wasn't very clean (carpet was quite stained and I found hairs in the tub)

- internet access is not free (although I managed to pick up a weak wifi signal for an open/free network)

- parking is a total ripoff at $16... particularly considering when I checked out at 8:45AM the garage was unattended with the exit arm raised allowing cars to drive out without paying (had I not informed the hotel on check in that I had a car, I would not have been billed)

- check in time is 4pm. I arrived at 4:05 and after waiting in line for at least 15 mins (there was only one person behind the counter - at check-in time no less!) I was told to "come back in 20 minutes" as they were still cleaning the rooms. I was quite put off by this. I noticed the lobby was filled with departing British Airways flight attendants and pilots. Regular checkout time is noon but I imagine they allowed the crew to stay longer which is why there were no clean rooms available at checkin time for us regular folks. Not cool.

After spending a horrible night at the Best Western Redondo on the PCH (currently rated #1 - WHAT?!?) I bid $67 on Priceline for a 3* in Redondo/Manhattan area fully expecting to win the Crowne Plaza. Even with the parking charge, it was a good value. I don't think it's worth the amount the hotel charges directly however unless you want ocean view (when non-Priceline guests were checking in they were asked if they wanted an ocean view for no additional charge).

4 of 5  Above average in the area, A TripAdvisor Member, west palm beach, FL, September 28, 2007

We used priority club points for our 3 night stay at this hotel so I can't really comment on whether it's worth a certain amount etc.. But here's the rest-

Oddly compared to other posters, I thought the service was one of the hotel's BEST features. Everyone was extremely friendly to us. Bad timing- the hotel's room locks were down and had to be replaced while we were there so security had to meet us at the room every time (only 1 day though). Not their fault, handled well.

You can rent bikes and ride up the beach, highly recommend. They also have a salon there that had inexpensive facials and massages which was great. $70 for an hour massage.

Our room was fine, bed above average not divine. bathrooms slightly small and dark. but overall new and a very comfortable place to stay. great ocean view from our room, try to work w/the hotel directly on this if it's important to you.

A bit of a bustling place, so don't count on a quiet visit. The pool was just a pool on the roof, big w/a jacuzzi, nothing special.

I am pretty picky, not the best place we've stayed but for the area I'd stay there again. Not a whole lot to complain about here.

4 of 5  Good situation on front., A TripAdvisor Member, Hertfordshire, England., September 23, 2007

Hotel easy to find as wanted a hotel within easy reach of LAX for our flight the next day. We had a room overlooking the marina at the front which was nice as the rooms at the back the so called city view rooms just overlooked the back car park which was'nt so great. Found the lighting in the room could have been a bit better but the amenties left in the bathroom were very nice. Had an evening meal in the Cheesecake Factory across the road and had breakfast in the hotel in the morning which proved very good. We had a long walk along the beach front before checking out and found Redondo Beach very nice - much better then Manhatten Beach up the road. In fact we wished we had an extra night here to explore a bit further. This hotel ticked all the boxes and we will go back again if we are in the area once again but for longer next time.

4 of 5  wonderful location, nice hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Novara, Italy, September 5, 2007

Hotel is right in front of the Marina and gorgeous beaches are within walking distance. The hotel structure is fairly recent and well kept (swimming pool and tennis court included.) The hotel restaurant (Splash) offers very good food, but personnel are not very friendly and the service is a little slow. In any case, there are plenty of very good restaurants very close to the hotel. Pay some extra money and get a room with a view: the sunset is worth your money!

LAX airport is not too far (20 minutes by car) and Disneyland is at about 45 minutes. If you want to combine sightseeing with beaches, this is the right hotel.

Personnel are not extra friendly, but helpful if you need information or advice

4 of 5  Good location... Signs of aging... Free access to Gold's Gym, A TripAdvisor Member, San Diego, CA, July 19, 2007

The location of this hotel is across from the Redond Beach Marina. It had a great view. The room was a good size and very clean. The bed was the best thing about the stay. Crown Plaza boasts about their new beds and they should. So comfortable! I just didn't want to get up. Had a few problems with the A/C. It kept turning on and off every 10 minutes. The thermostat was set for 65 but the room temp was 71. It never got below 69. Also, the shower was not working properly. The water pressure was low and it literally took several trys before the water came through the shower. I told the front desk about the problem but they never acknowledge that it was fixed. I assumed it never was. You can see some signs of rust on the tub. Not much but enough to take away from the decor of the bathroom. The elevators were also on the fritz at the time I was there. Out of the 3, only 1 would work during the busy times. The concierge would take us through the service elevator to minimize the wait time. Not a big deal but many people made it such. No fitness center at the hotel sight but there is a Gold's Gym right next door. You get 24 hour access to the gym with your hotel key. The Gold's Gym is full with the latest equipment. I like how they face the treadmills towards the ocean. Felt like there was no A/C since they keep the windows open to get the ocean breeze. Can get a little warm inside with all the hot bodies. The restaurant had a wonderful breakfast buffet ($18). Fruit bar (including exotic fruits), made to order omlettes and fresh pastries. Well worth it. The Redondo Beach Pier is a short walk from the hotel. There's a Ruby's, Joe's Crab Shack and Cheesecake Factory right across from the hotel. The spa located in the hotel is very resonably priced. The swimming pool is heated and located on the roof. Another great view. The hotel also provides a shuttle to the Del Amo mall (great shopping). I paid $110/ night ($16 for parking) and stayed 3 nights. Stayed with the kids and wife. Would stay there again.

4 of 5  Great Location, A TripAdvisor Member, Elk Grove, California, July 18, 2007

I stayed at this hotel for a conference that was held in one of their banquet / meeting rooms. The hotel had a so-so appearance upon arrival. For the area, I would think they would have a more attractive look on the outside. Once pulling into the front of the hotel, I was surprised to see that parking is $20 per day for valet or $16 for self parking. I though this was a little steep, but this is Los Angeles on the beach...

The room was adequate - I was moved up to the "Club Level" because of my platinum Priority Club status. The room was supposed to be better and more equipped than a regular room... I had a co-worker staying on a regular floor and the rooms seemed pretty much the same to me... I did get nightly turn down service with chocolates and a bottled water, but that seemed to be about it... Also - Internet is $9.99 per day - little steep in today's market.

The best feature for me was that you have full access to a 24 hour Gold's Gym, which is at the south end of the parking garage. This is a very nicely equipped gym with all the latest equipment. I was very impressed with this full access that I had and would base my next stay at this hotel solely on this feature!

The swimming pool was below average. It was up on the 3rd floor on the roof and was pretty barren - not many decorations or any other amenities to speak of. There was a spa and tennis courts in the same area, but I didn't use either.

In all, I would stay there again and would recommend it to my fellow travelers!

4 of 5  Nice Hotel for the money, A TripAdvisor Member, Thousand Oaks, CA, June 30, 2007

Stayed here for a quick two night getaway. They gave me a great government discount rate so the price was right. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and helpful. Since the hotel wasn't that busy we were upgraded to the concierge level. Had a beautiful spacious, oceanview room. Enjoyed watching the sunset on the small patio. Concierge level included complimentary snacks and beverages (from 5-7p.m.) as well as a continental breakfast. The breakfast was a step up from the usual stale pastries, as it included sliced cheeses and meats (more typical of a European continental breakfast). If you're used to luxurious hotels you will find that the bed linens are not up to par. Other than that the location and price couldn't be beat!

4 of 5  Renovations getting there..., A TripAdvisor Member, annandale, virginia, April 17, 2007

This hotel looks a bit older on the outside but seems to be undergoing renovations. The lobby looks like it was the first to get an overhaul and is very nice with a lot of places to sit, a fish tank, small gift shop, etc. The service staff was very helpful with check-in, re-arranging some reservations, and printing out flight boarding passes.

The room we had was a good size but was worn. The views from the 4th floor oceanside were nice as well. The bathroom had peeling wallpaper but what appeared to be a new sink and new doors. The curtains and bedspread looked new but the carpet was stained. The electronics worked well except for the refrig., which made a loud humming sound.

It looked like the place was about halfway through being fixed up when we stayed in Jan07. There were a lot of painters and other construction workers about. They were quiet and out of the way, however.

The only real drawback was expensive parking, and not much of it. Overall, I'd give it an above average and it should be even better once renovations are complete.

4 of 5  I agree with the last review, A TripAdvisor Member, Shelby Township MI, April 9, 2007

I just returned from the Crown Plaza for a one night stay with my husband and son. For a Crown Plaza this definitely was not worth the money. The lobby was decorated very nice and appeared up to date. However the room was not so great. The carpet was in terrible shape, large stains and cigarette burns all over, the doorwall looked as it had not been cleaned in weeks.

We had a king size bed with tiny twin size pillows. At check in we were told we had to pay $ 15.00 for a roll away, $ 14.00 for parking.

They were charging to use the business center, internet access in the

room was also pay per use.

I am a priority member and was told I could use the business center for 30 minutes or get a 1 hour bike rental, never found the bikes and

the desk reception was less than helpful. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi are used by local gym members (gym is attached to hotel). We attempted dinner at the restaraunt but the menu was so limited we skipped it. The room service menu was very extensive. My son ordered room service, staff was prompt and very friendly.

This is really not a "beach town" more of a marina. The boardwalk across from the hotel is dirty and shabby. We rented bikes and rode into Hermosa Beach which is where we should have stayed.

Overall I would not stay at the hotel again nor would I stay in Redondo beach.

4 of 5  Good, basic hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, San Diego, CA, March 5, 2007

I just returned from a 2-night stay for a business meeting. While this is a full-service hotel, there was nothing spectacular about it. Even the location in Redondo Beach is just OK, as it is really a harbor and pier area, more commercial/industrial than beach vacation-like. However, I will say that the hotel has an excellent staff. They were very helpful and always professional and friendly. As far as the rooms go, the bathroom was very clean, but the rest of the room was so-so. There were bits of paper or tissue or something on the carpet when I checked in, and the carpet could use a cleaning. The view was nice and having a balcony and sliding door for fresh air was great. Kudos to the hotel for their conservation efforts; when the sliding door is open, the thermostat is off, so that neither the heat nor air conditioner will run while the door is open. If all hotels had this feature, who knows how much energy we could be saving. As far as value, I paid $149 conference price and I thought it was a little overpriced. Also, $10 for 24 hours of wireless internet is ridiculous. Registered guests should be able to access it free. The parking was $14/day with in and out privileges. I would not mind paying $149 if the parking and internet were included. Overall, however, I would stay here again and have no major complaints.

4 of 5  good hotel very good location, A TripAdvisor Member, mississippi, December 9, 2006

The hotel is good but is start to show its age. I would not rate this as a crowne plaza level hotel - probably should be a HI Select. The location is very good. There are numerous restaurants across the street. On the Rocks is a good sports bar wwith decent food and lots a screens. There is a boardwalk close by where you can get lots of seafood. Taxi ride from LAX is about $25-$30 with tip and Super Shuttle is about $18 with tip. Rooms were clean and beds seemed very good. .

4 of 5  Good hotel to stay, A TripAdvisor Member, Princeton, NJ, December 2, 2006

Pros:

1.Staff: Very friendly. We paid a heavily discounted price for the room but were still able to get a room with the ocean view, which is stunning. We also made a few odd requests and all were met with satisfaction.

2.Location: Right on the ocean front. If you are able to get a room with ocean view, you are going to spend a lot of time on the balcony. Just within 5 minutes of walking distance, the pier has some stores that sell great sea food.

3.Room: Beds were comfortable. The $9.95/day wired Internet access was very fast. We got daily more clean towels than we could possibly use.

Cons:

1.Amenities: I have definitely seen better shampoo, conditioner and soap. The soap smells and feels terrible. I like Hilton’s amenities a lot better.

2.Parking: Pricy. Cost us $14/day

3.Cleanness: we found a few stains on the carpet. The hallway could also use some sanitation work.

4.Layout: The walk from the elevator to our room is very long.

Not a bad place to stay overall.

4 of 5  Nice location, A TripAdvisor Member, Manchester, October 15, 2006

Very nice hotel in a nice location with good facilities, pool area is nice. Staff are very nice and helpfu, except for the concierge, the hotel doesn't come up on sat nav systems and neither does the toad which this is off, the concierge was less then useless and directed me to the OTHER end of the Pacific Coast Highway, about 10 minutes away by car!

In the end got a very helpful member of staff (Ben) who knew exactly where I was and got me there no problem, checkin-in staff made sure my room was ready and pre-checked me in as well as upgrading me to a bigger room free of charge!

Generally very good experience just problem with finding it.

4 of 5  Worth the stay!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, New Jersey, July 28, 2006

My family and I recently spent a night at the Crowne Plaza. It's across the street from the Harbor and a short drive to the area beachs - Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan. (You are going to have to drive). Hermosa Beach was nice, lots of young people playing volleyball and small shops and the like. There are several restaurants at the Harbor which are walking distance from the hotel. We tried Joe's Crab Shack and were happy. The Hotel has a convenient self-parking garage ($14 a day with unlimited access). The hotel and room were above-average. We would recommend the hotel for people staying at Redondo Beach.

4 of 5  Nice property, great stay, A TripAdvisor Member, Iowa City, Iowa, June 11, 2006

I just returned from a week at the Crown Plaza in Redondo Beach.

The property is very well maintained, the staff is very pleasant and helpful, there are seveal great restaurants within walking distance (Bluewater Grill is excellent, Cheescake Factory is about a block away), the rooms were adequate to above average (nothing special but very clean and updated).

Enjoyed a massage while I was there and it was among the best that I've had. The spa did not seem very busy, however.

The only negative is the minimal activity at Splash, the hotel's restaurant. But they have very tough compeitition from off property establishments. The food at Splash is average at best.

4 of 5  Good value, location, A TripAdvisor Member, Seattle, WA, May 16, 2006

Concur with what many others say here...good location, little dated. I thought my room was decorated tastefully and had very comfortable bed. Walking distance to many good restaurants. Breakfast buffet at splash is above average.

The best was the outside pool/spa area. Very big and clean with little cabanas. Tennis court also. Beach view. Great to relax at the end of the day with a drink.

I had a room on the back facing the street. Very loud if you have the slider open. I would make sure I had balcony next time facing either front or to the side - I think worth the extra $$ to get rid of noise. I have stayed in all the other hotels in the area because I travel there on business - this is the best.

4 of 5  Nice, good price but terrible bed, A TripAdvisor Member, Los Angeles, CA, April 23, 2006

Can't beat the location, the hotel is nice - slightly older but nice, clean, friendly staff.

We had a king deluxe ocean view room (Entertainment Card rate $119 per weekend night). Room was spacious, bathroom nicely appointed and large. Self-parking is $14 per day. Walking distance to good restaurants and pier

My only complaint was the bed in our room 2096 - most uncomfortable, overly soft hotel bed I've ever slept in. I woke up each morning with a backache. Not sure if all of the rooms have beds like this, as they are promoting their special sleep program and the signs in the lobby claim that the beds are all new. I kind of doubt the bed we had was new, I have a feeling they haven't gotten around to replacing all the beds.

This hotel is large, so I suggest you request a room closer to the elevators if you don't want to be walking forever to your room.

3 of 5  Nice place!!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, north carolina, October 29, 2008

This hotel was pretty nice! I was worried after reading the reviews here. The air conditioning situation did kind of suck. It WAS really stuffy in the room at all times BUT I didn't notice that the air went off!!? There WAS a sensor but it pretty much stayed on all the time! The staff was very curteous and nice! Especially the concierge. I dealt with Jesse alot and he was GREAT! Also there was a lady that worked the conceirge desk during the day and she was great too (but i didnt get her name)! DO NOT go to the spa. It is a waste of time and money and it didn't seem very clean to me. I have had better pedicures ANYwhere than there. Overall, the room was nice. It DID reek of smoke in the bathroom the entire time we were there (we had a non-smoking room) and we didn't smoke. Not sure where that was coming from but YUCK! The beds were GREAT! Nice and fluffy, etc! DO NOT waste your time going to Splash (the restaurant inside the hotel). It was VERY overrated and VERY expensive for what it was. There are much better restaurants within walking distance at half the price! I would reccomend staying here! I enjoyed my time! It definitely is NOT a 5 star like one other person noted on here but it IS a very nice 3!!!!

3 of 5  Crowne Plaza, Redondo Beach, A TripAdvisor Member, california, April 2, 2008

This was a good hotel for our stay in Southern California. It was centrally located for our itinerary. We went down to Laguna Beach, over to Disneyland, up to Santa Monica, and saw a Lakers game. We also spent time at the Redondo Pier. The hotel lobby was nice and the staff friendly. You do have to pay to park here, which wasn't great. The pier was great for the kids and the restaurants were located conveniently. The hotel room itself is somewhat dated. It was nice, but on closer inspection was in need of repair. Nothing too distracting, but rust on the bathtub, torn wallpaper, dingy carpets. The housekeeping did a fair job, but was lacking. I travelled with three 17 year old young men and it worked out well. If I were travelling with my husband, I would not stay here, but with three boys, it was a good buy.

3 of 5  OK place to stay, but no LAX shuttle, A TripAdvisor Member, Utah, November 14, 2007

The room was clean and quite nice. No complaints about the room quality. Hotwire's 3 star rating is accurate.

Our room, #3026, was right above the hotel's loading dock. No need for a wake up call in this part of the hotel. You'll be awake by 6:30 am. The delivery/garbage trucks were very noisy.

There is no LAX to hotel shuttle and a taxi costs about $25 one way. I rented a car for less than a taxi ride including the hotel's $16.00 per day parking charge. Our$69 rate was really $85. After taxes and parking it was a $99 room. We stayed only one night.

You pay extra for things like internet access too.

The staff was friendly and efficient. We really only needed a place for the night before our trip to Maui. We didn't take advantage of the hotel's amenities.

It is a short walk to the marina and the many shops there. There were also a few restaurants there too. It was a good place to get a fresh fish lunch.

Hotwire says it's 5.5 miles from LAX. It's really 7.5 miles. I would recommend the hotel at Hotwire's price, if there were a hotel shuttle to the airport.

3 of 5  Good Enough, A TripAdvisor Member, Miami, Florida, October 14, 2007

This is your average Crowne Plaza. We arrived at around 11PM. Check in was easy enough, and the gentleman checking us in was polite and answered all our questions. The room was clean & the beds were comfortable enough. We had a non-smoking room, but they have smoking rooms on the same floor, so the hallway reeked of cigarettes.

They charge $16 per day to park in the parking garage which is also open to the public, so sometimes it was quite difficult to find a spot. Also, it is quite a trek to our room. They also have valet for $20.

They also charge for internet. The more you pay for a room the more the nickel & dime you. The Best Western across the street offers Free internet, parking & breakfast!

3 of 5  Basic hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, San Francisco, CA, August 25, 2007

This is a pretty basic hotel. The lobby is new enough, but the rooms are dated and bathrooms rather shabby. The small pool is on a vast concrete deck that lacks charm. The location is so-so, being a short drive to the main drag/downtown area - not walking distance. The staff were friendly.

Nevertheless, a comfortable stay.

3 of 5  OK, A TripAdvisor Member, Cambridge, England, June 28, 2007

Have stayed here a few times, as the location is pleasant. Across from the pier, where there are a few restaurants and a good jogging track.

The best thing about this hotel is that you are able to use the Gold's Gym next door, which is excellent. Otherwise rooms are very ordinary, bathrooms even less than ordinary. Staff ok. Last time I was there the restaurant was being refurbished and so breakfast was served in a conference room.

The hotel is large and so some rooms are a long way from the elevators. The pool area is very uninviting - all concrete on a flat roof. The jacuzzi is cold. The tennis court is the best thing.

Never had any problems, but I would certainly not recommend this hotel for a special occasion. Probably good for families.

As another review stated, it does not seem to be up to the same standard as other Crowne Plaza hotels.

3 of 5  Great Location - Relaxed Atmosphere, A TripAdvisor Member, London, May 5, 2007

We have stayed here many times and have always found the hotel to be just about right for the price.

Great location at Redondo Beach and close to some really good restaurants.

The pool is ok and the rooms are a decent size, but the bathroom is very small.

It is a middle of the road hotel, but very pleasant.

3 of 5  Nice views from the balconies, A TripAdvisor Member, Brooklyn, NY, October 29, 2006

Stayed here for a wedding in Palos Verdes. Our room was okay, nothing special, but comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking a marina and the Pacific Ocean.

The bed was of average hotel quality, with lots of pillows. The bathroom had a very strange door that was difficult to close (it was like window shutters rather than a real door), and an odd array of toiletries (just shampoo and mouthwash).

My friend stayed in a suite and it was a gigantic room with a dining table, 2 large sofas, and a tv. Very comfortable and nice. Oddly enough, the flat screen tv was broken, but rather than remove it, they just placed a tube tv in front of it.

Overall a decent place. I'd stay there again if I were in the area.

3 of 5  Clean enough. Comfortable enough., A TripAdvisor Member, San Diego, California, September 7, 2006

Stayed at the hotel for seven nights while at a conference.

The beds are of typical hotel quality (a little hard), but featured four pillows per. The room also had a CD player, TV with cable and HBO. Fee-based wireless internet is in every room but was slow. Also, local telephone calls were not free.

The balcony on ocean-view rooms is small but features two chairs. Balcony on non ocean-view rooms (facing the rear of the property) are too small to stand on comfortably, much less put chairs.

Overall, a decent place to stay with a good ocean/harbour view. My biggest complaint was the lack of attention in room maintenance. The wallpaper had tears and the carpet stains. Nothing horrible, mind you, but somewhat frustrating for the price.

2 of 5  Hot room ruined stay, A TripAdvisor Member, ca, September 2, 2008

I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and some of the lower end hostels in the world. So I generally have a high tolerance for what I expect from accommodations. I have read the reviews of this hotel, most of them being good, and discounted the “whiners” posting bad reviews.

I have never written a bad review of a hotel, and generally eschew writing bad reviews of anything. I was taught, “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything.” I have generally followed that advice, but I have to make an exception here.

Everything that anyone says is good about this hotel is true. It’s in a good location – so is the Best Western, just across the street with free wifi. The staff is friendly. I didn’t eat in the restaurant, and you do need to go outside to get there. But at $270 rack rate, I would expect the room to be comfortable. Thankfully, we received enough discounts to make it comparable to the Best Western across the street.

“What ruined my stay was the motion sensor Inncom thermostat that unless it sees motion turns the air conditioning off as several others have stated having a hot room.” This says it all. As long as you keep moving between the room and the bathroom, past the motion sensor, the air conditioner stays on. It is set to 70 degrees, which is fine for me, as that is generally where I set a hotel air conditioner when I go to bed. However, once you stop moving past the sensor, it turns off completely – like when you go to sleep. I am the type who can and will sleep through anything. Not here. We arrived late and retired around 1:30 am. By 6:15 am, it was 85 degrees in the room and stuffy. This was after I had awoken several times and got up to turn down the thermostat!

Seriously, 85 degrees and less than 4-1/2 hours of sleep is not my idea of a vacation; on the other hand, we got up and out early. The second night, we found the sensor on the sliding glass door. Did I mention that if you open the sliding glass door that has no screen, it turns off the air conditioner? I can understand that if the air conditioner stayed on if one didn’t stand in front of the sensor waving one’s hand, but it doesn’t.

So here’s the E-ticket. Push in the sensor on the sliding glass door with folded up paper. Set the fan on the air conditioner to low instead of auto. Leave the sliding glass door open while you sleep. It was 68 degrees the next morning, and we only had one moth in the room due to the lack of screen door. I think it is too close to the coast to breed mosquitoes, so you should be fine. Don’t get the bigger room at the corner, as the generator is on the first floor and goes off every half hour. This would be fine if you didn’t leave the door open, but if you need it cooler that 85 degrees to sleep, you will need the door open.

Other than the room temperature, a very nice hotel. Would recommend it for people who are always cold.

2 of 5  Stay Elseware! Oceanview is Roof View. Old Property, A TripAdvisor Member, Orange County, CA, August 11, 2008

Very disappointed with property. Booked an Ocean View room only to find out that what you predominantly see is the roof. Ocean View is limited and only when you are on balcony. Air Conditioning has a motion sensor so goes off when you are (1) not in room and worse (2) when you are sleeping and don't activate the sensor. Room is hot.

As the property is old, room had a very musty smell. Also, bathroom has some thin somethings that they pass off as doors that due not fully close.

Check-In is at 4pm - somewhat late for a major chain.

Front Desk and Valet staff very nice.

We were part of a group and even with the discount, room was expensive for what it is.

2 of 5  Great location, but they need to clean a little better., A TripAdvisor Member, Las Vegas, June 23, 2008

This hotel is right across the street from the Marina. The Pier is just down the street with an arcade and lots of restaurants. Great place for families. The hotel lobby was nice. Big aquaurium in the entrance. The staff was friendly. The rooms themselves I wasn't impressed with. We were traveling with a 1 year old. The bottom of the tub was rusted and decaying and the floors were disgusting. For location and ammenitis, this hotel is in a great spot, maybe if they just updated their cleaning schedule, they might make a better hotel.

2 of 5  Find another hotel !!!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Texas, May 18, 2008

Well where do I start.....??? The resturant staff could use some lessons on customer service for sure but the desk staff was ok though. The room was just ok but what ruined my stay was the motion sensor Inncom thermostat that unless it sees motion turns the air conditioning off as several others have stated having a hot room. If you don't toss and turn in your sleep to set off the motion detector then expect to sweat all night long. If I pay for a room I want it at a temperature I select not what the hotel selects. The hotel is in a good location but needs updating bad. You must walk outside to the resturant etc.... I really don't have any good things to say about the hotel.

2 of 5  Keep looking, A TripAdvisor Member, Oregon, April 15, 2008

When my wife and I made our annual pilgrimage to the Los Angeles area last summer, we ran into a lot of competition for hotel rooms - the calendar plopped the 4th of July holiday smack in the middle of the week, which meant that all sorts of people were creating long weekends on either side of the holiday, while others (like us) were kicking back for the entire week. My wife did a lot of searching before she managed to get a reservation for Saturday and Sunday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, adjacent to the marina in Redondo Beach.

We've experienced mixed results at Crowne Plaza properties in the past, with the negative (or at best the "ho-hum") outweighing the positive. However, during a crowded holiday week, we didn't feel like we had the option of being too picky.

Our visit did not have an auspicious beginning. After a long day of driving, we arrived at the hotel around 5 pm on Saturday evening and were told that our reserved king room was not yet available and that it would be another 30-45 minutes before it would be ready. We looked around the rather featureless lobby and told the reception clerk that we'd just schlep our bags to the seating area and wait until our room was ready.

The smart thing for the employee to do at this point would have been to offer us a couple of comped drinks, or direct us to the lounge, or something... anything to acknowledge our inconvenience. He did nothing. We waited. After 45 minutes I went back to the reception desk and inquired on the status of our room. It was ready, and from the clerk's reaction (a different clerk), evidently had been ready for some time. No one bothered to notify us, although we were seated within plain view of the reception desk.

Anyway, we grumbled and hauled our bags to our 5th floor room. Upon entering, it was clear that our request (and payment) for a water view had been overlooked... or had it? At the extreme right side of our small set of windows, a guest, standing on tiptoe and peering in just the right direction, might spy, through a maze of wires, over a busy boulevard and a rooftop, the glint of water reflecting among the sailboats moored at the Redondo Marina.

A brief call to the front desk confirmed that ours was indeed a "water view" room. Rooms actually overlooking the water have some other term and a higher price. Speaking of price, this isn't a cheap stay. Our Saturday night cost $219 (plus $20 for parking), and Sunday was a bit better at $199.

While our room wasn't overtly objectionable, neither was it in any way memorable. The Holiday Inn chain has invested in comfortable beds in all levels of its properties - not a bad concept at all, in my opinion - and the Crowne Plaza beds are about the best of the bunch. Ours was soft and supportive, topped with a feather duvet that was too warm unless we cranked the wall-mounted air conditioning unit to its highest level.

The rest of the room was a faded reflection of early 90s semi-luxe: with the exception of the bed, the furnishings were worn and tattered - not in an egregious or obvious way, but in a more subtle and, ultimately, more depressing way. Linens, furniture, and accessories were all functional but outdated and tired. Beyond the value proposition (which, at north of $200/night, is pretty dismal), there was a palpable feeling of shabbiness at this hotel which we were happy to leave behind when we checked out.

Housekeeping is sketchy - our room was indifferently made up, and every time we walked the hallway to our room I noticed random bits of debris... a scrap of paper, old room service items, various trashy odds and ends. It was not as if the hallways were overflowing with crud, but neither did they come remotely close to conveying the sense of spit and polish one associates with well-maintained properties.

Service was equally blase - again, not overtly bad, but more or less perfunctory. Let's say I did not go broke tipping folks for their exemplary service.

Overall, the Redondo Beach Crowne Plaza is not a property that I'd recommend. It's in serious need of upgrading in almost all respects. If your travels take you to the South Bay region in Los Angeles, I would suggest there are many better lodging options.

2 of 5  Not the Best, A TripAdvisor Member, Niceville FL, February 9, 2008

Happenings at the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach Hotel

1. Upon arrival there was no room reservations for the wife and me* Was told to have a seat in the lounge area, and they would deal with our problem later. Forty five minutes later we were still waiting no one really was concerned! This is not acceptable.

2. A room was finally found. We tried to enter the room and it was occupied.*

The front desk found my wife’s name as an occupant of this room.

3. Another room was found and we checked in.

4. Our room was not cleaned on the third day. Someone had placed a do not disturb sign on our door and housekeeping complied. In fact they left a voice message on the phone indicating they were ready to clean the room when we returned. I tried to retrieve the message using the instructions on the phone and could not. I called the front desk and they sent a person to help. He could not or would not explain how I was to know that by pressing 55 on the keyboard I could retrieve the message. Anyway house keeping came by left us some clean towels, coffee, and soap. I mentioned the dial 55 mystery to the front desk along with an inability to set the clock radios in our room. The response--, yea we know. No one can set the clocks and maybe we should say something about the 55 issue.

5. 2:00 AM 1 January. Fire alarm. Drunks in the hall.*

6. 2 January returned to room around noon; couldn’t open door. Housekeeping said we had checked out. Front desk said all 100 on tour were scheduled for checkout on the 2nd. Re-keyed my cards, house cleaning cleaned the room and life went on.*

7. 3 January 4:20 AM. The bell man started picking up luggage. Scheduled time was 5:00 AM* Luggage was taken to the lobby, segregated by floor and not moved to or loaded on the bus.*

The hotel is a beautiful facility at an ideal location. Although we enjoyed our stay it was far from outstanding. A redefined focus on the customer as someone other than a money source might help! .

2 of 5  24/7 Gold's Gym Redeeming Perk Amidst Rat Traps, Potheads, and 74 Degree Rooms, A TripAdvisor Member, Washington, DC, October 15, 2007

The Crowne Plaza has so much unachieved potential that it is truly sad. With the proper management, it could be turned into a solid 4 star property, but with its current phantom staff, it rates about a 2, including generous bonus points for free Gold's Gym access and the lovely Maria Elena, its stellar chief concierge.

The property is situated across the street from the Redondo Beach marina, so it has more of a sailing vessel than ocean ambience, with rather distant Pacific views from the 2nd floor pool terrace and some rooms without obstructions on higher floors. You have to walk about 10 minutes to hear the surf at the marina boarwalk, south of the hotel, as there is a barrier wall encasing the marina.

The lobby of the Crowne Plaza is rather ornate, with a fish tank and large floral arrangements adorning tables with huge mirrors. The bellhops and outdoor staff might as well be mute, however, and they seem to have their eyes permanently cast towards the ground. The room to which I was assigned on the third floor on the southernmost part of the building was overlooking the pool and had an ocean view from the balcony. However, the rat trap and hundreds of cigarette butts sitting in the balcony's foliage immediately turned me off to sitting on the rather old, cheap chairs outside.

I subsequently felt a need to monitor possible rodent entry when I was forced to open the unscreened balcony door to cool down the room. It was typical LA fall weather, with warm, sunny days and cool nights, but the Crowne Plaza keeps its "auto" override to any thermostat setting you choose at a constant 74 degrees, rendering the room rather stuffy and uncomfortable.

The bathroom doesn't have a fan, so I had to leave the balcony door open in order not to get a sauna effect when I showered. The room's furnishings were worn, the towels rough and thin, the beds weren't very comfortable, and the carpet appeared dirty, with dust accumulations in all the corners. The double bed I didn't use had a very apparent blood stain on the bedskirt. The Zenith TV was outdated, though the movie selection was very good. The rainforest shower was installed so low that I had difficulty positioning it at 5'9"; I only wondered what sort of contortions a tall man would suffer to use this improperly placed upgrade. A retractable clothesline was a nice touch for sink-laundered gym clothes and bathing suits, and I noticed a sign for a guest laundry on the second floor.

The spa on the 2nd floor was staffed by nice enough non-English-speaking women who just didn't have the proper manner or touch. Privacy is a real issue, as the staff person had to escort me in a flimsy robe across the main hotel corridor to the pool locker rooms to shower off a body polish. Services seemed inexpensive, but the quality of the staff is way below what one would expect at a good spa. Exfoliation scrubs felt like sandpaper, and the uncomfortable massage I received left me with bruises. Plus, the masseusse used my session to complain about the greedy owner, rendering the session way less than relaxing. She didn't even thank me when I wrote an 18% gratuity on my credit card receipt, as if she deserved more for her less than professional service.

The Gold's Gym next door adjacent to the parking garage is the best part of a Crowne Plaza stay. I took three classes while I was there, all gratis, and the broad range of equipment is great for individual workouts as well. The best feature is that it's opened 24/7, so that jet-lagged easterners can use it on their own biorhythms while they adjust to Pacific time. You can even get a class schedule online to plan your visit, with classes ranging from step to yoga, power sculpting to spinning. They had a kid's waiting room as well.

The concierge, Maria Elena, was knowledgeable and very friendly, but when she wasn't on duty, her staff ranged from curt to inept. The concierge desk also maintains tennis racquets, and the gift shop sells cans of balls if you wish to utilze the court adjacent to the small pool on the second floor. The small jacuzzi was dingy and uninviting, and like the pool, in need of a painting. A huge sundeck had strappy white chaises and lots of wasted space, as it sits on top of the garage.

Nearby is the pier and boardwalk, with a small beach amidst mostly ships. I was encouraged to walk towards Hermosa Beach for a better beach-walking experience, but I never found the time. Across from the hotel is a Ruby's [California ice cream diner], a Cheesecake Factory and an Italian restaurant. There are more at the pier.

On the last morning of my stay, I smelled a very odiferous stench of marijuana when I walked by the room next to the elevator, and when I alerted the front desk, I was told security would check into it, but the clerk seemed thoroughly unmoved by the disclosure. Considering small children were having to linger next to the elevator bank, this situation was neither pleasant nor classy. I got the hotel through my rock bottom priceline bid. If I had paid the $189 rack rate quoted to a walk-in couple I overheard, I definitely would have felt taken. An abundance of airline personnel stay at the property, and many local parties are conducted in the ballrooms, both of which must supply steady sources of revenue.

The general staff members were unfriendly and underwhelming in all respects, and I was charged $3 for a couple minutes in the business center, which I found was the 15 minute rate. They do not charge for printing boarding passes, however. Oh, and the $16 a night parking charge was a bit outrageous, but there is really no convenient alternative on the street, as the hotel, parking garage and gym consume a huge block, and marina parking is monitored.

The travel time to LAX is probably under 15 minutes, and I got to the USC campus, just south of downtown, in about 35 minutes most attempts. However, there are many better priceline values at true 4- star choices downtown and in other LA areas, so I would explore those before staying at the Crowne Plaza ever again.

1 of 5  Room never cleaned!, A TripAdvisor Member, Wash DC, October 16, 2007

2 night stay, $200/night and room NEVER cleaned. Called the front desk and was actually ASKED if I wanted my room cleaned! NEVER asked how my stay was at checkout.

Go to the Best Western across the street.....at least the WiFi is free

1 of 5  Overpriced, lousy service, A TripAdvisor Member, Los Angeles, September 19, 2007

Stayed here as part of a hotel package. I travel a lot and even with the discounted rate, I feel that this hotel is overpriced and provides zero service.

We had a "view room" that looked straight down on multiple dumpsters. If you stood on your tiptoes, you could see the edge of the water through a fence surrounding tennis courts.

The entire time we where there they were unable to make us a second room key (even though everytime we asked over the course of TWO DAYS they said the problem was going to be fixed imminently). I think its pretty telling when a hotel of this size is not even able to make copies of keys for their guests.

We called room service to orders pizzas for a wedding party group and the kitchen told us one pizza served one person and that our four pizzas would be up in 25 minutes. 45 minutes later we called and they said that actually the oven would only cook one pizza and it took 30 minutes per pizza. Upon receiving these, they fed 2-3 people each and we were left with two throw away pizzas (that with service charges cost about $30 each).

We called down to the front desk to get small items that our room did not include -- iron, bottle opener, and everytime they made us walk downstairs to retrieve these ourselves.

$16/day for parking is ridiculous in Redondo Beach and the garage is very poorly laid out. A trip from the top floor of the garage to our room involved 3 flights of stairs and two separate elevators.

We had friends staying across the street at the Best Western. While their rooms are dated, stay there instead and don't waste your money on this place.

1 of 5  Not worth the price, A TripAdvisor Member, Torrance, CA, August 4, 2007

Some of the staff members were not helpful and at times, were downright rude. I was shocked at how incredibly rude one of the front desk workers was. I would expect much better service from a hotel that charges as much as this one does. Also, as a resident of southern California, I am embarrassed how badly these hotel workers represent California to vistors from around the world.

This hotel is also starting to fall apart. Carpets everywhere are dirty, (lots of black duct tape in lobby floor), and the walls inside the room weren't clean either. And $16 a day to park is a rip-off! Don't stay here!!!!!

1 of 5  Not Good at All, A TripAdvisor Member, Newcastle, Australia, July 22, 2007

We booked a family holiday on the West Coast of US and stayed at Crowne Plaza Garden Grove, Caesars Las Vegas, Crowne Plaza Union Square San Francisco and Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach LA. I am a Priority Club member that is why my preference for Crowne Plaza. There were 7 of us in two rooms at each hotel.

The location is great but the stay at the hotel went downhill from the time we unloaded from the airport shuttle. No assistance with 16 bags as the staff were too busy standing around waiting for airline staff who were checking in or out. We struggled to our rooms and it set the scene for the hotel. Once again, Redondo Beach is a great place with plenty to do but look to stay somewhere else. We checked out early and ask to store our bags until we had to leave for the airport - once again rude response from staff who just didn't want to help. This is the service a Platinum Member of this hotel group gets so don't expect too much.
