Great for big family! | Read all reviews
After reading a few reviews I thought this was the place for us. Traveling with 2 adults and 5 kids ages 13 to 6 months I was dreading having to stuff ourselves into one room somewhere and having to pay for two rooms was not very appealing. Homewood Suites was our best bet and a good one at that. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling with kids that would like some time to themselves. It had one very large bedroom with a king size bed and the crib was set up in there for us with a baby quilt (we have traveled a lot with a baby and this was the first hotel to give us a baby blanket, nice touch) we had our own bathroom, desk, flat screen tv. There was a nice size living room with a pull out sofa and a nice chair and tv. The kitchen area was nice and it was nice to have a gull size fridge and dishwasher, the only bad thing about that is they don't give you any dish soap so I couldn't wash bottles myself in the dishwasher. They do run it for you when you leave in the morning, so if you don't need anything that is great. The other room had two double beds and their own bathroom. Full breakfast was great, just like home, the flavored coffee creamers were a nice touch and the microwave popcorn in the room was also a hit. Great place to stay. Only issue front desk person wasn't knowledgeable about area restaurants or whom delivered. We didn't use the pool as it was too cold. About 15 min from Busch gardens. Great place would stay again. Very new and clean and great price!

Wonderful Stay!! The hotel was very well kept. The room was clean and had everything we might need for a short stay - full kitchen, sitting room, separate bedroom, vanity and bath. All were immaculate. Staff was pleasant and the hot breakfast was great. For what we got it was a wonderful deal. I've stayed in much lesser hotels for the price. Great experience. We booked our stayed based on the reviews by Trip Advisor, and were very pleased. The staff was friendly and helpful, and management clearly visible. The room is ideal for a family, with it's separate kitchen area/living room, and bedroom. The two televisions are handy also, especially for parents and kids. What makes this a terrific value is the breakfast and dinner buffets. Although not gourmet, they are plentiful, warm and free, including beer, wine, and soda with dinner. We also made use of the basketball court, pool, spa and fitness center. The only areas that could use a little help are the housekeeping and fitness center. Although the room had fresh beds, clean kitchen, many of the doors, surfaces has lots of old fingerprints from prior guests. The cleaning staff was very kind, but they seem a bit short staffed there. The fitness center equipment was not of the best quality, and could use some better cleaning. A safe in the room would be a great thing to have. We are glad to have discovered the Homewood Suites and will seek out another based on our experience here. We hope this business model continues to work for the Hilton Brand, they definitely have a winner in our view. Recently stayed at Homewood Suites for our visit to Bush Gardens Tampa Fl. The Hotel staff was friendly and offered exceptional service. The suite was clean with plenty of space and the bed is so comfortable. I will stay at this hotel again. Don't miss the breakfast. Great waffle. This was a getway gift for my husband & we both enjoyed ourselves. This was my first time to Florida with my cousins and girlfriends. We planned a getaway. I just want to say, I will be coming back again later this summer. We had so much fun and loved the hotel and what it had to offer. The spa was wonderful and the staff went far and beyond to provide us with excellent customer service. I can't wait until we come back this is good place to stay on getway. Thank you!!! Our family stayed for two nights the first weekend in May for our daughter's college graduation. We rented two rooms because we had additional family members (grandparents, stepparents and uncles) in town for this special day. Everyone on the staff went out of their way to make sure everything we needed was available. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was served each morning (on time) and was well prepared. Nothing was over cooked and someone from the staff was always ready to replace empty dishes when food ran out. To top things off, we did not have a place to celebrate our daughter's accomplishments so the manager allowed us to rearrange the tables in the breakfast area and that is where we had her reception. We have traveled all around the world and stayed in some of the finest five star hotels but, this experience is by far the best service we have ever received. We tip our hats of to the manager and his outstanding staff for going above and beyond our expectation of service. After reading a few reviews I thought this was the place for us. Very new and clean and great price! We stayed in various hotels in Tampa in the last year. Homewood Suites Tampa Brandon is by far the best hotel in Tampa. Wonderful experience! The first time we stayed at Grand Hyatt Tampa, near the airport. Wonderful, wonderful hotel, we got a great deal during the summer time. Next time we stayed at Hyatt Place next to Busch Gardens. We wanted to stay at the Grand Hyatt again, but the price went way up. Then we had to come back again for a 3rd visit in Tampa. This time we checked the reviews on tripadvisor.com and decided that we will give a chance to this hotel, Holiday Inn Express. It was the worse decision we ever made traveling to Tampa. We came to the conclusion that we will have to switch hotels. So we switched hotels right away and we went to the Hilton Homewood Suites in Brandon. What a beautiful hotel! Switching from Holiday Inn Express here was like going from hell to heaven and I am not exaggerating at all. If you want to have a wonderful time in Tampa, then go to the Homewood Suites in Brandon. It is awesome and the price is right. You have a VERY nice bed were you can actually sleep and rest very well; you have a beautiful closet, granite countertops. They offer you a free breakfast (awesome food) and a small dinner as well (between 5PM-7PM – we saved a lot of money on dinner), you have good parking/it is free, free in-room high-speed internet. They give you free popcorn in your room, you have a microwave and a full fridge in the room with automatic icemaker, you have utensils to cook, I mean a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel is very, very safe, they lock the front door during the night and nobody can come in without a key. The Brandon mall – BIG MALL is about 2 minutes away from the hotel. You have Cheesecake Factory in there – awesome food, and then you have Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden and an awesome steakhouse restaurant, Sam Seltzer (they have a killer desert, called Napoleonī….What can I say, make yourself a favor and stay here. Thank you, Homewood Suites, for a wonderful time that we had here! We will definitely stay here again in the future! We had the good fortune to encounter Homewood Suites on the Brandon "side" of Tampa, Florida. The staff, especially hostess Zulima, was so welcoming and the accommodations so perfect that we were glad to return for a fourth night to our stay. A cluster of new hotels has arisen in the southwest quadrant of Interchange 257 of I-75. For us, the location was half-way between Tampa Airport (TPA) and our friends in Lakeland. Less than 1 km east is a large, busy shopping mall (Westfield Brandon) and several restaurants (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Macaroni Grill, and others). A ten-minute walk west one finds a neat shopping plaza with a florist, pizza, post office, a busy Hooters, and a scruffy McDonald's. However, it is the hotel that is best of all: quiet, comfortable rooms, well-maintained pool, a shaded patio, whirlpool, exercise room, and business center. The hotel has wi-fi, but, without a laptop, I was glad to find two public computer terminals in the business center. The complimentary breakfast selection was wide. Because the hotel caters to business people Monday -Thursday, the weekend rates are attractively lower. We highly recommend this hotel. My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel. I can say that this by far is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The value is excellent and the customer service exceeds all expectations. The room is so comfortable and is very large. The kitchen area is very nice plus the hotel was very quiet at night. They have a great breakfast buffett full of variety. Next time I look for somewhere to stay I will first search for a Homewood Suites in the area. After reading the reviews on trip advisor I decided to try this hotel. I was going to be traveling to the Tampa area quite often for business and wanted a nice hotel that was reasonably priced. That is what I found in Homewood Suites. The front desk staff is very polite and even remembers your name when you leave the hotel. They helped me find places to eat and were always there if I needed anything. The breakfast is nice and included some mixed fruit, bagel, toast, eggs, biscuits, french toast sticks and then they rotate between sausage and bacon. The dinner reception far surpassed my expectations. The night I was there we had stuff green peppers and they were surprisingly good. They also provide beer and wine. Yes, BEER AND WINE!! I couldn't believe it. This hotel really has it all. Not to mention their 1 bedroom suite is very roomy and comes with a very large kitchen area. The whole room is also very sound proof and has a climate control system, not just an in wall unit. Overall I was extremely pleased with this hotel and I would definately stay there again. There was a small problem with the pool being closed when I was there, but Hilton honored their 100% satisfaction guarntee policy and paid for a 1 night stay. I could not ask for anything more. We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it nice location beautiful rooms very clean The staff was soooo nice they went above and beyond for us We will be staying there again in the future We stayed at this property for 3 nights while visiting Tampa with our child. This hotel is fabulous and the management should be commended. The room was a bit small for the 3 of us but that was no big deal. The free breakfast was wonderful, and the free dinner - well - where do you get a free dinner? It was terrific. The staff are the best I have ever experienced. The head of housekeeping a dream. I travelled with my 2 year old daughter, and the staff gave me the fixings for a peanut butter and jam sandwich for her - in the evening when she was hungry. Many staff made an effort to use our names, and really made us feel very welcome. We thought the spot was good to get around to the major attractions, and there was a number of food outlets and shops close by. By far a great stay. I stayed at the Homewood Suites Tampa/Brandon on December 11th - 13th. It's off the beaten path a bit but well worth it! This hotel is brand new and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy! I found a special treat hidden with the coffee stuff. Microwave Popcorn! :-) Anyway, I highly recommend this hotel for business travelers. Vacationers may want to stay somewhere closer to the action. PLENTY of restaurants in the area. We went to Florida to visit relatives for Thanksgiving this year and needed a place that would offer us the possibility of putting our younger kids (1 1/2 and 6) to bed in one area (they go to bed around 7:30) and us to be in a different area to stay up and read, watch TV, what not. A refrigerator would have been a bonus. The Homewood was unbelievable. Only open for 5 weeks, everything sparkles. From the moment you enter into their very pretty lobby with big plasma screen and sitting area to watch news and/or movies, to their Welcome Home reception in the late afternoon/early evenings (with light snacks and large variety of drinks--all included in your stay!), to their wide selection of food in their (again, included!) continental breakfast, to their lovely pool (too cold for us to use, but a nice big, enclosed space in the back for kids to run and play apart from the pool area)--we just loved it. Oh, did I mention the rooms?? We entered onto a vinyl floor that looked like hardwood--no worries about scratching or damage to it by the kiddies, a kitchenette with full-size fridge, 2-burner stove, dishwasher, microwave, sink and table for two, along with couch and TV. On either side, a suite (one with 2 double beds, one with a king-size bed), each with its own bathroom, chair, table/desk, hi-speed internet connection, TV, dresser..... The rooms were very large, tastefully decorated, the beds were GREAT. Highly recommend--they're wonderful for people with families looking for a homey and comfortable place to stay. Their staff was very friendly too. My wife, 3-year-old son and I stayed at the Homewood Suites for 3 nights on August 5 to August 8. We arrived at 2pm and were able to check in with no line or wait. ROOM - We were given a room on the first floor, in the back corner by an exit door. This was a minor annoyance because it was loud when people used the rear door, as well as when the garbage pickup came (the trash container was in the parking lot right outside the room). There is a small kitchen with a 2 burner electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator and a coffee maker. There is a small table with 2 chairs between the kitchen area and the living room area. The television has pay per view movies available for rental. There is wired internet in the room, but NO wireless. The 3 sliding doors on the bedroom closet and the proximity to the bed made it difficult to get larger items like a suitcase in and out. There was NO safe in the room. The room must have been an “accessible” room, because there was a “roll in” type shower with a height adjustable shower head. (There was no tub in our room.) The toiletries were Neutrogena brand and consisted of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and soap. FOOD – There is a free breakfast every morning. It consisted of juice, coffee, cereals, fruit, yogurt, muffins, bagels, bread, milk, “make your own” waffle station, scrambled eggs, and either bacon or sausage patty (alternated). There was nothing exceptional about the breakfast, but it was plenty for us and saved us from purchasing food. The same is true for the evening “welcome home” reception, which was available Monday through Thursday from 5-7. They usually had one main “entrée”, salad, and one or two side dishes. They had chicken and dumplings, chili, and BBQ (Hot Dogs & Hamburgers), on the nights we were there. For drinks, they had cans of soda, beer, and wine available. After eating a large lunch, the food available during the reception was plenty for us to eat for dinner and saved us a considerable amount of money had we had to eat out. There were also chocolate chip cookies available at the front desk. RECREATION – There is a small outdoor pool, fitness center, and small basketball court. OTHER – There is a small “suite shop” that sells snacks, drinks and frozen meals. Bottles of soda in the shop are $2.00, but they are only $1.25 in vending machines that are located on alternate floors. USA Today is delivered to your room, with the Tampa Tribune and the Tampa Bay Times available in the lobby. On our second day, housekeeping didn’t come by until around 4:30. The hotel location is good from a distance perspective. Busch Gardens, Lowery Park Zoo, MOSI, Aquarium etc are all under 20 minutes away. There are restaurants nearby, and a mall less than 1 mile down the street. One issue with the hotel location is that it is near a busy highway and there must be train tracks nearby because we heard a train horn a couple of times. There is also a fire station down the street, so you occasionally hear the sirens. None of this was severe enough to affect our sleep or prevent us from going back. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Having stayed at the Homewood Suites near Universal, Orlando a few years ago we were sufficiently impressed to book them for another visit - this time at Brandon, nr. Tampa. The free hot & cold breakfast is not only good, but very convenient. The proximity to the shops and restaurants is very helpful. A 5 minute drive - you can't walk, no-one does - and everything you could want is there! What a great find! The hotel, as expected was clean, with all the amenities we wanted - in-room internet access, fridge, microwave, and it was quiet. Much better than staying in Tampa. We stayed one night in this hotel on our Florida trip and were very pleased with our choice. The property is in a very nice area, somewhat secluded off the main road but it can be accessed quickly. The main highway has all types of stores and food available, just about every place you'll need. Christina at the front desk was very helpful and supplied us with area info and even gave us extra attention with finding driving directions to our event. The breakfast in the morning was plentiful, many items to choose from. Our room was very nice . We were very pleased ! Keep it up Homewood Suites!!!!!! I have stayed here 3 times this year, all with positive experiences. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Decent hotel breakfast and they have food/drinks at night, but I usually chose to eat out. The minor maintenance and cleaning issues I experienced were quickly attended to once I mentioned to front desk staff. They do not have wireless internet, but do have free high speed in the rooms unlike other nearby hotels. I'm in Tampa almost every month for business and will return to this property soon. Hotel is located jus off I75, about 20 minutes from the Tampa Airport. It is fairly new. The staff is extremely friendly and check-in was quick. The rooms are spacious and very well maintained. I had a studio with a large bed, sofa, good TV small kitchen and bath. A hot complimentary breakfast is included as well as a small dinner. There are many restarurants nearby and a very good upscale shopping mall within a 5/10 minute drive. Orlando is only 75 minutes away. This hotel is brand new. Hilton is also building an Embassy Suites right next door. A little out of the way for beach or Busch Gardens. Everything during our stay was what we have come to expect from Homewoods- above average rooms, good pool (they also have a basketball court), and an OK hot breakfast in the morning and OK hot meal in the evening (Monday-Thursday). The kids love this place. If you stay here be sure to go to the Tampa Electric Company, they have a Manatee viewing center at their power plant. This may sound weird but you will see manatees there (and it's free) they come to bask in the warm water the power company puts in the bay. We needed a hotel that was reasonable and not too far from Busch Gardens. We used Hilton Points to book it. The hotel itself is in a good area right next to I-75. Right up the road is a mall, and a few restaurants. We literally just slept here, checked in at 3:30, left 7:30 the next morning. The hotel is practically new, and the room was great. The kitchen has a full refrigerator, dishwasher, dining room table and two stove top burners. The room itself looked brand new. Breakfast the next morning was nothing special, but fine for a light bite. They also offer dinner at night, but we passed as we had dinner reservations. I believe this hotel is somewhat far from downtown Tampa, as we had dinner in westchase and it took us about 25mins to get there. Hotel is also conveniently located off I-75, so for us worked perfectly as we had to be back early in Sarasota the next morning.
