5 of 5  Quorum Hotal Tampa-Service with a Smile, A TripAdvisor Member, Texas, October 26, 2008

I stayed at the Quorum Hotel Tampa for 6 days and 5 nights in September 2008 while attending an event in the hotel. The staff was equal to the staff at the Savoy hotel in London. The staff at all levels were extremely friendly and helpful from the housekeeping staff to the restaurant staff. The staff at the front desk could not have been more friendly and helpful from begining to end of my stay. The restaurant is small but the food is excellent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and four fresh towels were in the room every day. I rate a hotel by the thicknees of their towels and the amount in my room. I want at least four towels, two hand towels and two face cloths, to me it is a sign of a hotel with quality. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone. BT

5 of 5  Great Find, A TripAdvisor Member, uk, October 16, 2008

We stayed at this hotel for one night so that we could attend the Tampa Bay Bucc's game.

From arriving to leaving we were happy with the staff and the accommodation.

Our room was on the 9th floor - number 911.

The room was clean and the shower was good.

We dined at the hotel and the food was lovely.

It is more of a bussiness hotel but suited us fine - the curtesy driver was brillient.

The pool need's a little finding due to going down to the gym first - it is nice and clean, just be careful of the hot tub as it is HOT - towels provided.

5 of 5  Loved the Quorum, A TripAdvisor Member, Virginia, October 3, 2008

We stayed at the Quorum for 5 days. Excellent service, cheerful staff and extremely clean rooms. The food at our functions was of very high quality. The staff could not have been more attentive. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in the Tampa area.

5 of 5  Excellent Stay!, A TripAdvisor Member, Miami, FL, September 22, 2008

I visited Tampa on a job hunting excursion and picked the Quorum because it seemed close to where I needed to go. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL. The staff was excellent. I had a slight problem with their computer and they worked on it and fixed it immediately. Room Service was quick! Pricey, but hey, room service is almost non-existent so just to have it was a pleasure. The staff was very helpful, I did have a refrigerator in my room, it was in the dresser. I loved the flat screen tv.

I've told everyone I know about the Quorum and I have every intention of staying there again, and again, and again!

5 of 5  Loved It!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Las Vegas, September 4, 2008

My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Quorum Hotel Tampa and we loved everything about it! It may be designed to be a business hotel, but we were there for pleasure and thought it was perfect! Check in and out was super fast and friendly. They had no problem letting us check in early and check out late, which I've noticed is a rare find! It's near the airport, but also very close to areas of good shopping and restaurants. The complimentary shuttle is a great perk. Bar staff was great. Room was awesome, comfortable bed, nice flat screen tv, refrigerator, nice decor, etc. Great fitness room, pool, jacuzzi! Short drive to beaches, we liked Clearwater Beach the best! Overall a perfect stay and we will definitely be going back!

5 of 5  absolutely lovely hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Winnipeg Canada, September 3, 2008

I stayed at this hotel on the Labour Day Weekend with my daughter when we were on a shopping excursion.

I can't say enough about how lovely, well kept and friendly the atmosphere was. It is certainly an easy four star resort.

The bellhop Daniel was so kind, and drove us around to all the malls in the area and was most attentive and polite.

The swimming pool was sparkling clean, and the surrounding tiles and scenery were very relaxing.

We will absolutely be staying there if we come back to Tampa again.

Signed, 2 very happy Canadian gals.

5 of 5  Very nice hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, July 30, 2008

I booked this hotel on expedia for about 90 $. This is a very nice hotel. Amenities include Gym, Pool, Hot tub. The gym is half decent as well, dumbells and universal machine, with all the standard cardio eqmt. The hotel is also about a 5 min drive from some indoor outdoor mall, which is nice. The buffet in the morning is about 10 $. The only issue I had was no hotel laundry, however the hotel was willing to shuttle me for free to the nearest laundromat. I don't know of any hotel ever offering to do this.

My recent stay at the Quorum was phenomenal. Service was great from making the reservation to checking-out. The hotel restaurant/bar was a highlight of my stay. The whole hotel was great. The staff was extremely friendly and took great care of us everyday.

5 of 5  Excellent Experience, A TripAdvisor Member, Tennessee, May 7, 2008

We stayed at the Quorum during the Outback Pro Am golf tournament along with (2) other friend couples. The service at the Quorum was super. I liked the decor, the restaurant / bar in the lobby and the hospitality of the front desk. I would recommend the Quorum to anyone traveling to the Tampa area.

5 of 5  The hotel Quorum is a great hotel., A TripAdvisor Member, Broadview, IL, February 23, 2008

The Quarum hotel is most memorable for its service. the people there would go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and they would do it with a smile. The pool, hot tub and work out room was clean and had a nice tropical feel to them. We would deffinately stay there again.

5 of 5  Good Stuff, A TripAdvisor Member, Ridgefield, CT, February 21, 2008

Fabulous experience. Stayed three nights over Presidents Weekend... The facilities were great.... the restaurant/bar open spacious and great... dinners were huge and reasonably priced... the best part was the service... Our waiter made great suggestions and handled our crowd with a smile.

Gabrielle (behind the front desk) went hugely out of her way to secure dinner resrevations for 25... two hours in advance... on a holiday weekend.

One of the best downtown hotel experiences I've had in a long time... Highly recommend.

5 of 5  Great Service, A TripAdvisor Member, Tampa, February 21, 2008

The service and facility were much better than many of the upscale Hotels that I've associated with. I would highly recommend this experience to anybody visiting Tampa, FL.

5 of 5  great hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Salisbury, MD, February 21, 2008

5 of 5  Outstanding Full Service Hotel and Banquet Service, A TripAdvisor Member, Tampa, FL, February 19, 2008

To date, I have had two Homecoming Banquets and receptions with out of town visitors from all over the United States and Canada. The rooms are well appointed and clean, the banquet director and staff are excellent and accommodating, and the food is terrific.

I am General Chairman of a Convention at this hotel in September, 2008 and have had an excellent relationship with the property. They have a real "Can Do" attitude.

5 of 5  Very good restaurant!, A TripAdvisor Member, Florida, February 19, 2008

The Blue Water Grill restaurant is great! Alex is the best and always has a very energetic attitude. The hotel staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean, organized and cater to your needs.

5 of 5  Really nice!, A TripAdvisor Member, Atlanta, December 19, 2007

The Quorum is a really nice hotel in a great location. The lobby is wonderfully decorated, the rooms are clean and neat, the staff is friendly. A big plus is the happy hour with complimentary drinks and chair massages. It also has free parking. It was a very pleasant stay and I would return in a heartbeat next time I am in the area. Highly recommended!

5 of 5  Great Staff at the Quorum, A TripAdvisor Member, Harrisburg, PA, November 17, 2007

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Quorum Hotel Tampa. The desk clerks, cleaning people, restaurant folks and drivers were extremely kind and always willing to go out of their way to help us or to answer any questions we had. They made us feel like guests not just another visitor. The room was neat, clean and comfortable. They have shuttle service to and from the airport which is a 5 minute ride and there are 2 nice malls close by as well as a number of good restaurants within 10 minutes of the hotel. The hotel restaurant serves good food including a nice breakfast buffet. If you are looking for seafood, try Landry's. This restaurant is a 10 minute drive from the hotel. Our overall experience was excellent and we will go back again if we have the opportunity.

5 of 5  Great service, A TripAdvisor Member, Tampa, November 12, 2007

Service and food great. Very clean

5 of 5  Nice Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Akron, September 18, 2007

This hotel is a nice gem. it does have some rough edges but the room is clean, bed comfortable, no mold in showers, close to multiple restaurants and 2 shopping malls. everything you would expect from a Hilton or Marriott. the only drawback was while the AC worked and keep the room cool. I did tend to get warm in the middle of the night with the fan turned to high and the coldest setting. This could just be nick-picking but like i said everything else about this hotel was great.

5 of 5  Quorum is one of the best, A TripAdvisor Member, Daytona, August 27, 2007

I stayed at the Quorum for a week while I was in Tampa on business. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel had everything I needed and more. The restaurant and room service was great. My stay felt more like a vacation rather than a business trip. I loved every minute I was there. Wish I could have stayed longer. The Quorum is definitely top knotch!

5 of 5  Fantastic Experience, A TripAdvisor Member, Ecru, Ms, August 26, 2007

Qorum Hotel in Tampa, Florida.

August 2 thru August the 6, 2007

My husband and myself planned a short vacation to visit our son and visit Universal Studios as well as Bush Garden. We stayed 4 days in Tampa in th Quorum Hotel. The service, food, and room was magnificent. The employees were great. Excellent service all the way around.

The room and the atmosphere was so confortable that in th nights we stayed in the hotel and enjoyed the magnificent food and service instead of going out. The numbers of TV channels avaliable were great

There we 2 double beds, very confortable. One day we decided to go shopping but we did not wanted to drive, the shuttle bus from the hotel droped us off and picked us up when we finished.

We strongly recommend this hotel to every one who is plannig on visiting Tampa in the near future. Next year when we return to visit our son it will be your Hotel that we will be staying at during our visit and vacation.

Sincerely,

Ms Ivonne Whitehead

5 of 5  Loved it!, A TripAdvisor Member, Tulsa, July 7, 2007

We were very, very impressed with this hotel! We would definitely stay here again! I honestly cannot think of a single negative thing to say.

We were impressed with how helpful and friendly the staff were. The hotel itself was so clean and nicely decorated. The room we stayed in was immaculate, spacious, and smelled great. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. I loved the "Davies Gate" toiletries that came with the room. The pool was enchanting and very clean.

The hotel is located just up the street from International Plaza, where there are lots of retail stores and some great restaurants (Cheesecake Factory-yum!).

The hotel offers free chair massages on weekdays, which I think sounds neat. Since we stayed a the hotel on a Sunday night, we missed out on that.

This hotel is a so nice and such a great value. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

5 of 5  A Hotel that knows service!, A TripAdvisor Member, Michigan, June 14, 2007

We came in from Detroit on a long weekend get-away. From the beginning of our stay - the shuttle from the airport to the hotel, we were impressed with the service. The staff continuously went out of their way to accommodate us. My boyfriend had a hurt his back, and one of the employee's offered him his own wheelchair (he had broken his leg a couple of weeks prior) out of his car for the remainder of our stay. That is the type of service this hotel offers.

One of the days we ate at their restaurant for lunch, it was fantastic. A huge spread of every kind of seafood and salads you could dream up. The rooms were lovely, and spotless. This was one of the nicest stays we have had at a hotel in a very long time. I highly recommend it for your stay in Tampa!

5 of 5  The Quorum Tampa, What a Great Place, A TripAdvisor Member, Washington DC, June 3, 2007

Date of stay: 11 - 14 May 2007

Reviewer: Businessman from Washington DC

The Quorum is an absolutely fabulous place to stay! The staff was extremely professional, courtious, and helpful throughout the stay. The rooms were very generously sized and the amenities were great. The resturant service was very good as was the food. The location of the hotel is central to many attractions in Tampa. I will recommend the Quorum Tampa to my business friends and expect I will return again.

5 of 5  Nicest hotel in Tampa, A TripAdvisor Member, Cape Coral, FL, May 30, 2007

Upon entering the hotel I was gretted and offered a bottle of water as well as fresh fruit. When checking in the staff could not be more friendly. Everyone is very professional and more than willing to go out of there way to help. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Soaps and shampoos are provided by bath and body works, continuing to give you the upscale feeling. Also, upon check in you are rewarded w/ a free drink coupon for every night you are there good at the bar/restaraunt built inside the hotel. Pleanty of meeting space is available as well as a parking garage for covered parking. Any time I am in Tampa I always stay in this hotel. Also, ask about club floor accesss upgrades it is worth it !

5 of 5  a breath of fresh air, A TripAdvisor Member, savannah, GA, May 29, 2007

stayed at the hotel for an on site business meeting...very pleased with the excellent staff. The desk clerk actually came around the desk to talk to me about my room privately to maintain good confidentiality. The van service was a pleasure. The staff was uniformly helpful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It is a short trip from the airport so that it took no time to head back for the flights when the trip was over. This is a good choice for business travelers, especially.

5 of 5  Absolutely Wonderful Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Benton, AR, May 29, 2007

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Quorum Hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and freindly, the food incredible. The beds were so comfortable; I actually looked to see what kind they were and plan on purchasing one in the future. I would definately recommend the hotel for anyone traveling to the Tampa area....although families with children might feel slightly out of place, as its more of a business hotel. But still, a wonderful hotel!

5 of 5  Lived up to the hype!, A TripAdvisor Member, New Jersey, May 1, 2007

Thank you to all the reviewers who recommended this hotel. The Quorum lived up to the hype and exceeded our expectations. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. From recommending activities to making reservations, they were always there when we needed them. The hotel is clean, modern and well located right next to I-275. Very easy access by car to any point in Tampa or St. Pete. Not much within walking distance, but everything you need is close by car. Free parking, usually in a covered garage, was a huge benefit. The complimentary chair massages (every day except Sunday) were priceless and just what was needed after a long day.

The one thing I didn't like was the softness of the beds. If you've got back issues and need firm support, you won't get it. The pool was under repair while we were there, which was a bummer, but we weren't expecting to spend alot of time there anyway. We only used the bar and restaurant once and were happy with the food and service received.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Tampa/St. Pete area and would definitely stay there again.

5 of 5  Most Outstanding Service Ever, A TripAdvisor Member, Florida, April 20, 2007

I recently stayed at the Quorom Hotel Tampa Westshore. As a weekend business travelor to the Tampa market I have stayed in every hotel in the area. I decided to stay at the Quorom on this weekend and found out what I had been missing.

Not only was it an immaculate hotel, but the staff gave me the best service I have ever had. They were friendly and accomidating. I had a couple of special request and they acted like it was no big deal. They helped me with a few problems and treated me like royalty there. I highly reccomend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. not only will you have a wonderful, clean, upscale room... but the kindest staff in the area.

I hope you decide to stay there, you will enjoy it!

4 of 5  Well priced, super service, A TripAdvisor Member, Freeport, Maine, October 27, 2008

Stayed in room 728 for three nights. King-sized bed, quiet side of hotel. All dealings with staff were great. V. friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant a little slow, but people were nice. The free shuttle is a wonderful service - the only bummer is that it does not start operating until 6am, too late for early-morning flights. The room was well kept and pretty clean. The bathroom could use a little love and some touch-up painting - and a light over the shower. Good-sized flat screen TV. Room service menu adequate and v. well priced for room service. I got a cup of Starbucks coffee and a yogurt parfait one morning for less than $9. Room service is usually such a rip off, it was a nice surprise. My floor was pretty loud Saturday night - lots of doors slamming and people yelling. Also had a fire at the hotel, which put us outside from 1:30-2:30 am. As helicopters circled and fire engines blared, it would have been really nice to have hotel staff circling the building telling guests what was going on. I was also surprised that no one was making guests get away from the building. It turned out to be a small fire, luckily. The price of this hotel is very fair considering all the amenities and service. I paid average of $113/nite with AAA.

4 of 5  Nice visit, A TripAdvisor Member, virginia, October 14, 2008

My sister and me stayed here in August a few days before our cruise and really enjoyed our stay. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed lying by the beautiful pool.

4 of 5  Great for business travel, A TripAdvisor Member, pittsburgh, October 1, 2008

Recently stayed for one week at the Quorum Hotel in Tampa. The staff was pleasant, helpful, and resolved any problem that arose. Hotel is situated near airport, and two malls with numerous eating establishments around.

Rooms are above average with flat screen television. Bed very comfortable, and quiet, so able to sleep.

Hotel also has wireless in lobby that they advertise, but didn't use it so not sure how it worked.

Pool, hot tub, and exercise room with machine weights, some free weights, and tread mills.

All in all, Quorum worked well for a week a business travel. Slept good with no complaints.

4 of 5  Very good stay, A TripAdvisor Member, Oklahoma City, May 20, 2008

I stayed the weekend (3 nights) at this hotel and had a wonderful time. I picked this hotel for the good government rate and airport shuttle. The airport shuttle service was excellent. The staff at the front desk was good. When I made the reservation I requested a refrigerator but did not have one in my room when I got there. The front desk said they would find one and have it sent to my room but I never got one. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The room had a slight odder as if someone had smoked in the room even though it was suppose to be a non smoking room. I told the cleaning lady about it and she said she would spray the room down and it helped a little. I kept spraying air freshener and the smell was gone by morning.

Overall the hotel stay was great. The extremely comfortable mattress had to be my favorite thing about the hotel. I would recommend they buy refrigerators for every room. I travel to Tampa on a regular basis and I will probably stay here again one day.

4 of 5  Rough Start but Beautiful Finish, A TripAdvisor Member, Littleton, CO, May 7, 2008

After an arduous day of business travel from Denver to Tampa I arrived at Quorum to find my reservation had been "mishandled". The hotel took full responsibility and held themselves fully accountable. Quorum secured accomodations at a nearby hotel at no expense and little inconvenience for the first night as they were fully booked. When I returned the next day to complete my stay in Tampa, Quorum stepped up and created a wonderful experience for the remainder of my visit. In our day when corporations, CEOs and staff dodge responsibility and accountability it was refreshing to experience Quorum. I believe it was Casy Stengler that said "Tough times don't build character, they reveal character"...Quorum revealed character.

4 of 5  Great service, convenience, A TripAdvisor Member, hazard,ky, March 27, 2008

We booked the Quorum via Expedia for a weekend stay prior to cruising out of the Port of Tampa. Very close to airport, malls, restaurants, etc. Clean, comfortable room and my wife and daughters enjoyed the Bath and Body Works toiletries. Nice pool and fitness center, great breakfast and a decent selection of books available to quests. We found the complimentary shuttle service very useful. They will take you anywhere inside a three mile radius - two malls, wal-mart, k-mart, etc., call them and they will come back and pick you up! Although we did not book the stay and cruise package, they did offer to take our family to the port for only $20.00, half off the taxi price. Excellent service from staff, very friendly and professional. We'll be back next time in Tampa.

4 of 5  Great for the business traveler!, A TripAdvisor Member, Boston, MA, February 23, 2008

The Quorum is a great business traveler hotel. They are very focused on customer service, which was evident the moment their shuttle driver came to pick me up and called me by name. That was a first for me!! As we were driving back to the hotel, he told me everything about the hotel services, including a happy hour every evening, free chair massages, and a cigar rolling demonstration on Wednesday evenings- very business traveler focused! I checked in really early with no problems at all and found everyone at the hotel to be friendly and accommodating.

The room itself was nice, not great, but nice. I loved the fact that there were Bath & Bodyworks products in the bathroom! It's kind of feminine and floral, but as a girl, I loved that! I found that I kept catching whiffs of my lotion and thinking, wow, I smell good!

I'm a hotel gym snob and this fitness room was great! It's a little on the small side but they had everything you could possibly need. 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 2 bikes, weights, balance balls and mats. The cardio machines had TV monitors built in, plus there were 2 big screen TVs in the room and the room faced the pool, so there was a lot to distract me while I was sweating.

I didn't take advantage of the hotel restaurant, but I did grab coffee from the bar the first morning. They offer Starbucks coffee, but I found that there is an actual Starbucks about 3 blocks away and it saved me almost a dollar just making that short walk. They do put out fruit and water in the afternoons for guests.

Their shuttle service will take you to the airport for free but it will also drive you anywhere you want to go within at 3 mile radius! Perfect if you don't have a car and just want to head out and grab a bite. The Westshore mall is only about a 5 minute walk away and also has quite a few dining options. Overall I was impressed by the Quorum and definitely recommend it!"

4 of 5  Quorum was great., A TripAdvisor Member, vermont, February 6, 2008

I booked this hotel for my boss relying on Tripadvisor, and he was very happy with the room, the hotel staff, and the proximity to the airport. The pool was great, the place was quiet, the people were friendly - it was a positive experience.

4 of 5  Is there such a thing as a 'Priceline room'?, A TripAdvisor Member, Milwaukee Wisconsin, April 10, 2007

I have to agree somewhat with the reviewer from (I think March 24)"Not a 4 star"

Pros: Priceline = $97, including taxes

Front desk staff

wireless in lobby and 2 free internet access computers

VERY quiet floor

shuttle which we couldn't use owing to our 6:00 A.M. flight

location close to airport

kids liked the outdoor pool; we didn't end up going in

beds and bedding

CONS: Maybe this is a "Priceline room" but it definitely would have killed me to have paid any more. The carpet was badly stained everywhere, unravelling against the walls & lumpy. The furniture looked like pressed wood & quite dinged up for this style of hotel.

Bathroom very average & tub is aged.

Restaurant: egads--couldn't have been worse. I don't like to eat in hotel restaurants and try not to. I like to find the great restaurants where the locals go when in a place I'm visiting. But it was Sunday so we stayed in (us & our 2 teens). The waitress (I used to be one & am infinitely patient) was wholly incompetent & quite breezy about it. She knew nothing about the menu -- sd. the soup of the day was "red, but I don't know what it's called because I don't like soups". Two minutes after we said we'd have to leave if the food didn't come in several minutes or so, she finally served all 4 of us entrees that were another tables' orders. They actually got up, looking disgusted & left without eating. There was more to hate but I'm running out of room. There were only four tables occupied during the whole 2 hrs. (yes, TWO hrs.) we were there and our table of 4 was the largest. We each only ordered 1 course, at an average of $17 per entree. My reserved husband, who NEVER does this, spoke to the General Manager & politely provided the laundry list of problems. Much to his credit he said he would rescind our credit card purchase and sure enough the credit showed up--thank you to management!

In sum, don't book at the rack rate or, really, anything over $130 from my experience with the quality of the room. Try Priceline.

3 of 5  Not the best, not the worst, A TripAdvisor Member, Colorado Springs, CO, February 27, 2008

My wife and I came to this hotel for a conference. This was the final meeting of several quarterly meetings, and after being at luxury hotels like the Four Seasons Chicago and The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island, the Quorum was a bit of a shock and setback. The lobby, pool area, and work out facilities were very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the lending library service. The room was poor, with older decor, cracked sink, small tv, and antiquated a/c unit. Bed was comfortable but only three bad pillows. Free wifi in lobby but our room required payment, so that was an annoyance. The hotel did offer newly renovated "club level" rooms but as the hotel was full and we were at our per-diem amount, we stayed with our standard room. Perhaps the extra $30 for club level would be worth it.

3 of 5  Close to the Airport and Malls, A TripAdvisor Member, South Florida, February 8, 2008

Just completed a two night stay for a group meeting. The hotel is clean but certainly just a three star facility. It is convenient to the airport and two malls. The staff were almost all pleasant but there is no panache. OK stay but be careful not to pay the posted rates.

3 of 5  Decent place, A TripAdvisor Member, inverness, fl, September 28, 2007

Decent, clean, quiet, room with comfortable beds. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar are one and the same, an open area off the lobby. We didn't eat there ....a bit to noisy for our tastes with prices. on the high side. There is free parking, lot or garage and airport shuttle service. Their regular rate is around $199 per night. However, if you or your traveling companion qualify for the government rate of $88 per night, you have a very good deal going for the area.

3 of 5  Staff, A TripAdvisor Member, Tampa, August 24, 2007

I pass thru the Quorum almost everyday. I work in one of the close office buildings in the area. The food in the restaurant is so fabolous, thats why my co-workers and i continue to eat there for lunch. Recently we started noticing a change. The attitude of one of the male servers is absolutly negative. When my co-workers and i were waiting for our lunch to come, we heard him being so rude, degrading to his female employees. At one point he was yelling across the restaurant while eating food off the lunch buffet. Thang god that day we all ordered off the menu. If i see him working, we decide to go to subway instead. Never have i seen this before in a restaurant that i enjoy coming to. I just thought that his attitude needs to be addressed immedietly, before something else like this occurs again.

3 of 5  OK Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Atlanta, GA, June 12, 2007

This hotel has been rated pretty high in Tampa, but my feeling is that it's just OK. The furniture is alittle old and worn in the rooms and the building itself is pretty old as well. Seems like a hotel for the young crowd (haven't seen any kids). The workout room is mediocre as well. Not sure that I'll stay here again, but I guess I can't complain for $160 per night.

2 of 5  Lacking Basic Amenities, A TripAdvisor Member, Jacksonville, FL, October 28, 2007

I stayed at the Quorum for one night for a business meeting. The personnel at the front desk were efficient and friendly. However, that is the best I can say about this hotel.

The room was small and did not fit the website's advertised "spacious, well appointed acommodations" description.

While the hotel was supposedly recently renovated, the carpet was filthy and old. I would not walk on it unless wearing shoes. The bathroom was small, the bathtub chipped and worn, the rubber bathmat gray and old. Even the faucet in the shower was old and covered with some sort of deposit.

The TV remote was sticky as if someone had spilled soda on it.

To make matters worse, when I attempted to shower after working out in the very mediocre fitness center, black sludge came out of the faucet (luckily I ran the water before stepping in) and the water never reached a temp other than lukewarm.

When I called to report this problem, I was told that they had been having difficulties with the water the day before and that the black sludge was just something that was leftover in the pipes. Now that inspires confidence. I was asked to run the water for 15 minutes and they would call me back.

Fifteen minutes later and no luck. I was told to try again in the morning and that someone from management would call to see if there was an improvement.

In the morning, the water had one temperature: scalding. I could not take a shower. I never received that promised call back from management, and since I had to hurry to my meeting I did not have time to call them back.

Even in a one star hotel you expect a basic amenities like a decent shower and clean water. I would expect considerably more from a hotel that touts itself as a "business resort."

I will be filing a complaint with the appropriate health officials regarding the health hazards associated with the sludge in the pipes.

There are many lovely hotels in Tampa. I travel there for business quite often. If you have business at the Quorum, I suggest you stay across the street at the Marriott.

I always check out the Trip Advisor reviews before booking a hotel in a new place, so imagine my disappointment and surprise when I arrived at this run down, slightly seedy place on a business strip outside of Tampa. Not at all what I expected. I'm stuck here for one night, but I've already made a reservation for another hotel for the second night of my stay--If you care about a comfortable bed, decent food (I asked room service for a green salad, they asked me what I meant) and a towels that look like they might be less than 10 years old, then this is not the place for you.

Very disappointed considering how expensive the room was.

Ordered room service only to find out an hour later when I called down wondering why it had not been delivered to find out that they forgot the order. No wake up call on the morning I had to leave for the airport, despite my calling the front desk the night before and asking for a wake up call. The paint is peeling on some of the doors in the hallway. The linens on the bed are in poor shape.

Althought he lobby and bar are nicely appointed, the rest of the hotel is not uch different from a microtel, except it costs three times as much to stay.
