Great Hotel! | Read all reviews
Spent a wonderfull weekend in Berlin with my wife! This Hotel is exellent. It is situated at a small, quaint plaza with shops, bakeries, cafes and restaurants, and less than 100 meters from the underground, thereby giving quick and easy acess to the rest of the city. Our room was exellent, breakfast was good, and valuewise it was hard to beat. We will be back!

We have just returned from a five night stay in Berlin. I booked through the internet having reviewed the hotel through Trip Advisor first. We were not disappointed. The hotel is in a very quiet and pleasant area with an excellent Italian Resturaunt nearby which is very affordable. The staff at the hotel were most helpful and pleasant. The rooms were quite spacious , very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and very substantial especially if one is touring the city all day. It is about ten minutes walk from the Ku. Dam but the taxi service is excellent when and if one is too tired to walk. I would certainly stay at this hotel again Stayed with my daughter and granddaughter in a spacious suite. A travel cot, complete with pretty bedding, was thoughtfully provided for my granddaughter. The suite had a large bedroom, with a small balcony, a beautifully furnished living room, well-equipped bathroom and a kitchenette, with fridge and cooker. Everything was immaculate and cleaned every day. Extra little touches such as leaving chocolates and 'gummi bears' on our pillows each day, were more than welcome! Unusually for many hotels in Germany, the reception staff at the Ramada were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff were also good and my granddaughter received quite a few chocolate Santas during our stay. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful - with many and varied choices of food and drinks. The hotel reception was beautifully decorated for Christmas, with a tree and various delicacies such as Stollen and Fruits, Nuts, etc. were laid out for guests to sample. The hotel is also very well situated, with U-Bahn Station, Guntzelstrasse a few minutes walk through Prager Platz and then two stops on the train to Kurfurstendamm. I would very much recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a luxurious and comfortable stay in Berlin. Although pricey, it is well worth the money. It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. This hotel is the best I've been to in Berlin. It's my 4th time in this hotel and its been great every time. The staff is amazingly patient, at one time that I got a room far away from the elevator I talked to them and they gave me (no extra charge!) the suite for the rest of my vacation! The only problem is with location. Although its really close to the main Kudam St. in the West, it's really like 30 minutes drive to the east (Alexanderplatz for example). It doesn't bother you during the day but at night, when you return from a party (and most parties are in the east), it can get annoying. I have stayed at this hotel twice, in July this year and in February last year. On both occasions I found the hotel to be excellent. The rooms are nice and clean with lovely bathrooms and nice big showers. The staff are very professional and friendly. This hotel is ideally located to see the best of what Berlin has to offer. It is 2-3 minutes walk from the underground. The station is only 4 stops from the main Zoo station, and 2 stops from the Kaffurstendamm so getting around is easy. We stayed in an executive room on both occasions and I found them to be bigger than average for a city centre hotel. If you are going to Berlin I highly recommend a visit to the Pergamonn and to the main German Historical Museum on Unter den Linten. A visit to the food floor at the KaDeWe is a great experience, we had great sashimi at one of the sushi bars. Spent a wonderfull weekend in Berlin with my wife! This Hotel is exellent. Our room was exellent, breakfast was good, and valuewise it was hard to beat. We will be back! The hotel was easily accessable by U-bahn. My room was immaculate with comfortable down covers. The only problem was the bathroom. Only a tub/no shower. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. we had just spent a week in the Munich area. and after a week of 85 degree temperatures, it was so comforting to check into the air conditioned Ramada Plaza. It was a very short taxi ride from the zoo train station, and from the moment we checked in, it became apparent that these people were there to make our stay a most pleasant one. we had a beautiful room overlooking a park - with a big wonderful modern bathroom. I should also mention the location. the ramada plaza is located on the cutest little park called the prager platz - which was one block from the subway ( two stops to the Ku-dam). did I mention the service staff? They booked restaurant reservations, sold us metro passes, let us use their laundry facilities for free, and just could not be more friendly or accommodating. I will definately stay there again - especially in the summer as it gets hot in Germany in the summer! Jay gitter, bloomfield, n.j. This is a truely lovely hotel which is made even more so by the lovely staff who couldnt do enough for us. Like another reviewer we booked through Expedia and had the same trouble when we arrived (the hotel being overbooked) but the hotel sent us to another hotel which was also a 4* and was approx 5 minutes from the Ramada Plaza and was a very nice hotel. The next day a taxi was sent to take us back to the Ramada Plaza and because of the inconvenience we were upgraded to a suite for the remainder of our holiday (6 nights) which was FANTASTIC. I will certainly be returning to Berlin if only to spend another week at this lovely hotel Our first visit to Germany, stayed at the first class Ramada Plaza-Berlin. Excellent leafy location, first class hotel, service and staff. restaurant very good and reasonably priced. One of the best hotels we have stayed in anywhere, will definitely be back. Explore Berlin a city amongst cities!! VERY nice new hotel. Good location, only a block from the subway (U-bahn), which is only two or three stops from the city center/trainstation area. Pleasant staff... this is one of the nicest properties I have seen in a while. Overall good accommodation, efficient staff and nice residential location a bit out of town but with good links. Hotel: Clean friendly hotel, with efficient staff. We had access to the Executive room on the 6th floor where there were DVD players, sofas and breakfast in the mornings (croissants, fruit, bread, juice, etc). Didn't realise we had that until we arrived! Accommodation: Nice suites with bedroom (with travel cot provided on request), lounge (TV with few English channels, no DVD player), kitchen (oven/hobs cannot be turned on unless you're there for >7days!, fridge that was on, no crockery/cuttlery), balcony (with table&chairs), bathroom (no bath, good shower), large gym/pool next door (didn't use it though). Location: leafy relaxed residential location with nearby local shops, supermarket and restaurant. 2 mins walk to underground, or 30mins walk to Zoo and main shopping area/restaurants. 25euro taxi to Tegel airport, or take bus to Zoo and then walk, or take 5min tube from Zoo to hotel. Overall, the property is bordering on a 4 star in my opinion. Rooms were spacious, bathrooms are enormous, a great selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate available in the room, pretty much everything was nice in the room. (The hot chocolate in the room was to die for.) The location is central to many grocery stores, the U-Bahn and neighborhood eateries. Some of the staff was nice; some not so nice. Special requests were met with icy glares and not followed through. There is a great 'Doner-kabab' place on the same block at this Marriott - great food for 3 Euros. Is an excelent deal of 3 days including an excelent breakfast (valued at 18 euro per person) ,one night dinner 3 course (aprox 40 euro) and 2 welcome cocktails (aprox. 20 euro) for 349 euro.If you make the calculations you get the room for 60 euro a night ,a real super bargain. You can order the deal just from Ramada site and it is only in german. They forgot to program my wake-up call and in general the reception people been not very nice. I get a superb 3 room suite and it was one of the best deals ever. We stayed at the Ramada in August 2007. Very nice Hotel. The rooms were beautiful and large. They were kept very clean. Now this Ramada is a bit out of the way of the main sights but the rail lines are very easy to use.. There was so much history in Berlin. Take the walking tours. They are great and are definitly the best way to see Berlin and take in all the History. One thing at the hotel, They told us what time breakfast was in the mornings, but did not tell use the cost. Well it ended up being 18 Euro.. Very expensive, so do eat breakfast outside of this hotel unless it is included in your room rate.. Overall this hotel was perfect. In a safe and Quiet area. I would definitly stay there again. Great hotel. location fine. yet there are a lot of hotels closer to town. Our problem was that we choose it so that the kids could swim in the lovely pool but when we arrived they told us that kids under 16 were not allowed and adults had to pay a daily charge. Our breakfast was extra £64 euros and we had paid 235 pounds for 2 nights for 2 adults and 2 kids sharing a sofa bed with no breakfast and no pool. Nevertheless the hotel was lovely and the underground was very close and we did enjoy it. The hotel staff upon arrival were so polite, their english, luckily for us, was brilliant. They were helpful, showing us places of interest on a map and how to get there etc. The room was lovely, it was spacious, clean, everything we could possibly need. Although we had to be out of the hotel by 11 the next day, we had all day until our flight and the hotel allowed us to keep our luggage there until we needed to leave for the airport. so we had a luggage free walk around town. A big thank you to all the staff and we will definitely be going back ...the bedding. Before I go there, let me point out the good aspects of my stay. *Clean, new hotel in a nice area *Two minutes from Guntzelsraβe U-Bahn station giving excellent public links to/from the rest of the city. *Surrounded by local shops and amenities *HARIBO gummy bears on the pillows instead of the usual chocolate mints - ok, small things make me happy ;) The hotel has a lot going for it. It's part of a new complex which also includes cafe's, a bakery, a deli, and a Aldi store (excellent for cheap snacks, toiletries and bottled water etc). It's also adjacent to a wholefoods store, and a Japanese canteen style restauraunt. There is a 24/7 Shell garage/store at the U-Bahn entrance on the corner also. Nearby public transport brings you everywhere you would want to go. The staff were efficient, if not over friendly (common enough in Germany, and not meant as any slight - everything is just businesslike), while the rooms were spacious and generally spotless. The downpoints for me were first and foremost, the beds. Both mornings of my stay I found myself in horrible pain. The matresses were like concrete slabs, and the pillows (which look soft, fluffly and inviting) collapse at the merest touch of your head and feel like you are resting on a bag of potatoes. So much thought has gone into the creation of this hotel and the decor - but comfortable bedding is something any hotel worth it's salt should have sorted out before opening. I've slept in more comfortable beds in basic chains like Travelodge previously..so a 4* Ramada Plaza surely should surpass their level of comfort. A final criticism was that the hotel tried to bill me for my stay upon check-out, despite the fact that I had pre-paid for my stay when booking. I do dislike when that happens because it makes the hotel look a little unorganised and unprofessional, and it leaves you with a lingering worry that 4/5 days down the line you're going to see a bill on your card for something that was already paid for. All in all - the Ramada Plaza has many good points, but really, it could do a lot better in some aspects. Would I return? Possibly, but only if the price was VERY right.

I booked my stay at this hotel (and paid it in full) through Expedia. We also confirmed our stay. When I arrived, I was told that the hotel had "accidentally" overbooked due to a computer problem and did not have a room for us. They told us they would find another hotel of the same class, but the hotel which they found for us was old, the reception and lobby was dark and dreary and the hotel did not have any amenities (such as a pool). When I called the Ramada Plaza to tell them that the substitute hotel was unacceptable, they simply told me that there was nothing they could do as that was the last room in all of Berlin that they could find for us. While the staff at Ramada was very nice about helping us and paid the taxi ride to the next hotel, I find it unacceptable that the Ramada Plaza overbooked its rooms in the first place.
