Great Food | Read all reviews
The hotel has decent rooms, good service and is located right next to the Bremer Messe and opposite the great Park. Good value for money. The best about the Hotel is the food they serve in the restaurant. Also watch out for the special Sushi-Lounges when they serve sushi all you can eat for a fixed price.

My husband uses this as a business hotel and I and our baby daughter often join him. While it is nowhere near the Altstadt (old town) area or the river, it is located directly across the street from the very expansive and beautiful Buergerpark. We enjoyed many duck-feeding opportunities at the lake, playground time, and generally pleasant strolling both through the park, the nearby rose gardens and over to the trainstation on the other side of the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, relatively large (by European standards), and fully equipped. The hotel staff was attentive to our "baby " needs and always had a crib pre-installed. The room service was happy to bring us milk and broetchen (rolls) for our baby in the morning at a nominal charge. The hotel has a very nice pool down in the underground floor, but it is somewhat difficult to access. The breakfast buffet has a very good selection but, like most hotels, is expensive. Nearby at the Hauptbahnhof one can have an inexpensive breakfast at a backerei. We ate dinner one night in the main (fine dining) restaurant WITH the baby and were very kindly catered to. There was enjoyable piano entertainment, and the food and wine were delicious. Also helpful is the underground parking garage. It is expensive (I believe eur 10 per day) but convenient. Helpful hint: first check the side street across from the hotel that leads to the Park Hotel - it often has street parking. Because it is located next to the Messe (conference center), the hotel can fill up and thus morning checkout lines can be long. We only encountered this once or twice. All in all, a nice hotel. Best for businesspeople. Tourists may want to stay closer to the Weser River and the Aldstadt (e.g., at the Hilton on the Boettgerstrasse). We stayed in this hotel near citycentre when we picked up our new car at the Mercedes factory in Bremen. We choose this hotel because it has its own garage and not like the Hilton which is a public carpark garage. We read the reviews before and yes the furniture is darkbrown but of a very good quality wood. I prefer good sturdy sliding doors on cupboards that do not rattle and the colour is less important when you are in a hotel. The beds were very comfortable the room non smoking and quiet. Little presents in the room olives/chocs etc. Nice touch. The service in reception/bar/dining room was friendly and very profesionnel. We got a free welcomes drink and rather than get the usual strange house coctail we were given the barmenu and could choose wahtever we wanted. The dinner was fantastic, especial the desert(s). And we are critical eaters! Having stayed for just one night at this wonderful hotel we couldn't have asked for a better stay. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and couldn't possibly have done any more to have made our visit more relaxing. The hotel has an excellent leisure facility and the food in the restaurant was out of this world. Breakfast was a very lavish affair with a great selection for all tastes. The Maritim is ideally located close to all the sights, shops and rail station. Only draw back to this hotel, like all european hotels, they do not provide proper milk in the rooms for the tea and coffee facilities. This hotel is great! Very well located next to the Buergerpark and the Stadthalle. The rooms are more spacious than average and well appointed. The breakfastbuffet is excellent, and we also had a fantastic dinner in the dining restaurant. Great value for money. All staff was friendly and helpful. Also the hotel offers a secure carpark. We had a very good stay there (room facing the parkside) and will defenitly come back. Convenient, tidy hotel walk to train station (and bus tram routes). No 6 tram from airport takes 15 mins to train station and then a 5 min walk to hotel - easily done. Dark decor - rooms fine - no free internet - helpful staff The hotel was right behind the main train stadion but in the same time in a park street. The Park hotel was across the street. Nice staff, clean, big room (we had a cheep one on the first floor facing the street) no noise from the street. Nice wine in the bar and peanuts and chillienuts free on the tables. We did not eat breakfast, but buy baguets on the trainstadion (there where a lot to choose from and much cheeper than a hotel breakfast or us who dont eat much for breakfast) Would like to stay at the hotel again. Bremen with kids? Take tram 6 towards universitet and visit universum sience senter.. The kids will love it.. We have been there two times!! Bremen is a very nice city:) The Maritim hotel is located in a leafy part of Bremen, and it is only a five minute walk from the main railway station. The hotel has a very 1980s feel! If you don't mind lots of mirrors and glitz in the restaurant, then do have breakfast. It is outstanding - the best on our 11 day trip to Germany. For those of you who like a lie in, then don't worry, breakfast is served until 2:30pm at the weekend!! Our room was spacious, although in keeping with the hotel a little dated. Service is excellent and the staff are friendly. If you have the time take a dip in the pool and use the spacious wellness area. We were disappointed to find that the main restaurant was closed for dinner in August, and the only menu on offer was the same as room service. It meant a 25 minute walk into the centre of town. However, it didn't spoil a comfortable stay. We stayed here before picking up our new Mercedes from the factory - another wonderful story - the hotel is etched from the beige era of the 1980's. But it is clean, the staff are wonderful. It is a little noisy and when we were there it was full of senior world tournament ping pong players - boy can they eat. Don't try to muscle in front of the little old lady from Japan - she may look frail but.......The food was really good and imaginative. Service was secondary to none. I have travelled to many countries and hotels over the years - this will never be a highlight - but believe me it is not a place to say never again - it was good. Unlike my next review ....namur...... just exactly what you expect from a good business hotel. very friendly staff, easy parking, walking distance to trainstation. nice park to jog in just opposite the street, convenient opening times of the small fitness/sauna area, bar, good roomsize, clean. personally i do not particularly like the colors in the hotel, the kind of shiny floors, dark-red wood and brass is not my taste. nothing to objectively complaint, nothing to get particularly excited about. something to considert: he day i stayed the rate difference all in ( breakfast, parking) was fairly small to the park hotel (15 euro) , which is just opposite end of the park, and a different class. I stayed at the Maritim in 2006 and thought it to be very good - maybe on a second visit a year later you notice things that you don't first time round! The reception area is impressive and the staff on the desk very efficient and helpful. It is possible to sit here and enjoy a coffee or something stronger - but expect a long wait for service and an expensive bill. There is a piano/cocktail bar - but again this is attracts heavy smokers and drinks are expensive. The breakfast brasserie was good with an excellent choice. Smoking is not discouraged in any of the public areas and even though my bedroom was classed as non smoking it was impossible not to notice the whiff of old cigarette smoke. All rooms are of an excellent size (including sitting area) with views at the front overlooking the main road and the Burgerpark or at the rear the view is the concrete walls of the AWD Dome. My room was in the latter category but it had the advantage of being really quiet. The pay TV in the room is not worth the extra money as many of the advertised channels do not work. There is a mini bar for those of us that can afford to use the contents! Disappointingly no tea/coffee making facilities. My room was made up very efficiently but colleagues staying on different floors had to wait until 5 or 6 pm until their rooms were cleaned. On the ground floor there is a clean well maintained Spa with large swimming pool, sauna, steam bath and solarium. Treatments are available for a charge. There is a handy bridge link to the AWD Dome Conference Centre. The hotel is not located in the centre of Bremen. A brisk 5 minute walk to the railway station (here there is a convenient well stocked supermarket) It is 10-15 minutes to the main shopping area. Taxi to the main square about 7 euros. We spent three nights in Bremen at the Maritim at the beginning of May. The rooms are large but dark, and the location is not ideal unless you are in town for the convention center. The "three minute walk" to the train station is actually a little longer, and to get to the main Bremen attractions you've got about 15 minutes more of walking just to get to the town square. I'm a New Yorker so the walk didn't bother me, but if you're visiting Bremen for a few days (and you don't need more than two days to pretty much see it all), I'd recommend the Hilton, which is right in the center. If location isn't an issue, stay at the Park Hotel Bemen. It's right across the street from the Maritim and much more senic (in the large Bremen park). FYI, almost all attractions and a lot of restaurants are closed on Mondays. And breakfast buffets are all the rage in Germany. The Maritim's spread was large and delicious, but I imagine other hotels do the same. Rooms and lobby dark brown furnished, very 80s style. Bathroom is pretty small. Beds arent too good either. The room definitely is more like a 3-star hotel, absolutely nothing special. Location is pretty good though. Walking distance to the railway station and the "Burgerpark", across the street from the Park Hotel.
