My car broke down and I had to stay in Salmon Arm for the day The staff were great. I had a wonderful sleep, the beds are great. The breakfast was busy but still it was enjoyable. The internet made it nice to keep in touch with the family. I will stay again. Great half way stop from Edmonton to Vancouver.

Stayed overnight on a Tuesday on my way through to the Rockies and Calgary. Arrived around five in the evening, no problems finding the hotel or parking. Easy check in with pleasant helpful staff. Room was fine, clean and nicely decorated with good amenities. The free internet access was a bonus. Plenty of places around to get something to eat in Salmon Arm, just a short drive back into town. Breakfast was Holiday Inn Express standard and as such not brilliant but ok given that its free with the room rate! Although I didn't use it the hotel does have a nice swimming pool and hot tub etc. All in all a great place to stop off if youre driving to or from the Rockies, I would happily stay there again. Fantastic, new, clean, organised and friendly. Salmon Arm is a pretty town. Really nice breakfast area and excellent indoor pool with waterslide. We love Holiday Inns! If you plan to stay in Salmon Arm, BC then this is the hotel to stay at -- it's brand new, and the rooms are fantastic! If you can afford it, go for a jacuzzi suite on the top floor. I got one for under $200 with a king size bed. The jacuzzi is huge and sits in the main room (not the bathroom) in the corner which is nice because you can relax and watch TV while in it. There is also a mini-fridge, fireplace, second sink & vanity mirror by the jacuzzi, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Everything looked sparkling fresh & new in our room. The view out the window lets you look out over the town, mountains, and a bit of the water. Downstairs is a large pool and waterslide, and a deluxe breakfast bar is available for free from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM each morning. Parking & internet (wireless or cable) is also included free. All in all an incredible package for the price, and the perfect stop-over from Calgary to Vancouver or vice-versa. What an absolutely beautiful hotel! We stayed here on an overnight through to Vancouver and we were very surprised by the quality of the hotel. The room was spotless and spacious - it comfortably accomodated our family of four. The quality of the linens were amazing. Our children loved the indoor pool with slide - it was a great place for us to relax and the kids to burn off steam! The hotel was easily found and slightly off the main highway so the noise of the traffic was not an issue. This is a great place to stay. We stayed here one night on our way to Calgary and were very pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. It is new and the rooms are good sized, clean and tastefully decorated. The rooms have air conditioners that are the quietest that we've experienced. In addition, the beds are very very comfortable. We made our booking by calling the hotel directly (not through central reservations). It is a fairly large hotel but can get booked quite quickly because it is truly one of the nicest places to stay in the area. The free breakfast is the usual fare. Cereals, hot and cold drinks and breads/pastries. Nothing out of the ordinary but nice to have available. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. The internet made it nice to keep in touch with the family. I will stay again. Great half way stop from Edmonton to Vancouver. We stayed one night here, arrived early, but were welcomed anyway. Enjoyed the facilities of the gym and the swimming pool. Breakfast was great. Good location. Attractive rooms, immaculate. It is just a Holiday Inn Express, but this is a 5 diamond hotel. It is a new hotel, spacious rooms, spotless clean, great friendly staff... Quiet room, nice beds, bathrooms, furniture. Free internet access. We spend only one night on our way to Vancouver and it was a very pleasant night in a very nice hotel. I have a Priority Club Card with IC Hotels Group, I have seen a lot of their hotels and this one is the best one so far. Thank you. This hotel just tops what HIE has to offer! We were treated uncomparably to any other hotel stay. The priority club check in super fast, the room was enormous, with a nice view, great furnishing. The pool/hot tub/waterslide area is large, very clean and a great place to spend the evening relaxing. The breakfast room is great, they even have real cups instead of plastic ones! All of these wonderful things for just 60CAD!!! If you are even near the area, do choose this hotel. You can not be disapponited. This hotel is wonderful. I had my wedding reception at this location and most of my guests stayed there as well. Not only were the staff fabulous but the suites were perfect, clean and bright. The continental breakfast had great variety and I couldn't get over how friendly everyone who worked there was. When passing through Salmon Arm this Holiday Inn Express would be the hotel that I would stay at. I highly recommend this hotel. As soon as we walked in the door we knew we were in for a great stay, especially since they allow pets unlike many other hotels in the area. Check-in was quick and painless with a very friendly clerk. When we got to the suite we were impressed with how clean and well furnished it was and the fact that there was two TVs meant that there would be no fighting over what program was going to be watched. The kids went right down to the pool and waterslide (that was the whole reason we stayed there) and we had to go down and drag them out for dinner, which was a very nice Greek restaraunt across the street from the hotel that the clerk recommended. We had a great sleep on the huge king bed and didn't have any problems with noise. In the morning the shower was great with wonderful pressure and unlimited hot water. And the breakfast, wow! There was so much selection and it was all good, especially the cinnamon buns. The only bad part was leaving. I recently stayed at this hotel. I found the service to be excellent. The staff could not have been more accomodating to my family. It was a very nice room at a great rate. It also included breakfast. I will definately stay here again. Stayed here on the way from Vancouver to Banff. The hotel is basically brand new. Rooms were a good size. The pool was good and the gym was satisfactory. Breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express and was good value as it was included in the room rate and you could also take something with you to eat and run. The hotel is located on the east side of town and a bit out of the town centre but there are a few restaurants nearby. Holiday Inn Express normally provide comfortable rooms but basic facilities so this one is quite unusual in offering an Indoor swimming pool with water slide and hot tub. My husband and I spent one night at this hotel on our way from Vancouver to Bnaff and we were pleasently surprised. We didn't expect much as we didn't check Trip Advisor first and we arrived around 10:00pm so we didn't have a lot of time to check out hotels. The hotel itself was clean and spacious. The room we had was large and clean and the washrom was quite large as well. The hotel was quite (well at least it was when we stayed) and you got a free hot breakfast which is decent. Even if you're fussy like me you'll manage to find something, you can have a whole wheat toast or a hard boiled egg or oatmeal. They also have great Cinnamon buns. They offer internet but you have to pay for it which I thought was a bit cheesy. if you're staying at the hotel internet should be free. other than that I have no complaints My husband and I stayed here for one night en-route from Vancouver to Lake Louise in May. We booked our stay following the reviews on this website and we were not disappointed. Check-in was swift and friendly and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with two large beds. The hotel itself is located just on the way out of town (heading towards the Rockies) on a hill. Obviously you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but some of the other hotels we saw in the area were nowhere near as pleasant as the Holiday Inn. The public areas are clean and spacious and there is a pool and hot tub for guests which we took advantage of - if only to cool down as we stayed over the Victoria Day holiday weekend which turned out to be record high temperatures! They also have a water slide in the hotel which doesn't look much but believe me, it's fast! I've never laughed so hard as when I went on it.... be warned if you have young children as it's quite scary! :) Breakfast is included at the hotel and is a good selection of breads, cereal, muffins etc. Salmon Arm itself is such a lovely little town on the shores of the Shuswap Lake and the quay area is just stunning. We headed down there at sunset and it really was so beautiful. There are some great restaurants, bars and shops etc. in the town. I'd definitely stay here again on a stop-over. We were extremely pleased with the Holiday Inn Express in Salmon Arm. Clean, modern, convenient, efficient front desk staff, buffet breakfast included with the price, good laundry facilities, close to the Transcanada Highway but traffic noise not an issue. We drove in from Vancouver to attend a wedding in Salmon Arm and were pleasantly surprised at the quality offered at the Holiday Inn Express. Our hosts did not block off rooms, but we still managed to get a great rate due to my government discount (only $89 a night). Plus, my Priority Club card got us a free upgrade to a business suite, but to be honest, this was nothing special - only difference between it and a "regular" room was an extra bed and a dataport that we didn't need. Oh well, still nice to be recognized that way though. The hotel appears to be quite new and is surprising well set-up and designed for the size of town in which it is located. I didn't expect to find this kind of property in Salmon Arm. Contrary to what other reviewers have written, we had a hard time finding the hotel off the highway. The entrance is really just a street off the TransCanada and surprisingly non-descript, making it easy to miss. Signage is easier to spot if you are coming into Salmon Arm from the east. Once we turned around and came back into town, we saw the hotel right away, but still had trouble figuring out how to access it by car. Parking is ample and available free of charge. Check-in was a breeze, with helpful and courteous front desk staff. The clerk asked about our stay in Salmon Arm and gladly provided us with a map of town. The hotel is on a hill, thus giving it a wonderful view of Shuswap Lake. Our room was clean, modern and well-appointed. I loved the hotel brand conditioner they provided... a lovely spiced vanilla (in fact, everything in the room was available for sale, from the bed linens to toiletries). Bed was extremely comfortable and despite its proximity to the highway, the hotel is very quiet, ensuring a great night's sleep. We didn't use the pool, as it was always crowded with kids. There was no reserved adults-only swim time. The hotel has on-site dining, but if you're looking for more variety, you need to drive into Salmon Arm (nothing really within walking distance). Boston Pizza, Tim Horton's and 7-Eleven are all short drives away. Overall, very good value for money. We would definitely stay here again. This hotel seems new or recently remodeled and was nice and clean. We only stayed one night on our way from Banff to Vancouver. Nice that they had a computer off the lobby with free Internet. Only quibbles were that the pillows weren't comfortable (even though they're the new "Simply Smart" pillows labeled "Firm" and "Soft", they still felt like hard little lumps), and for some reason although there was a big mini-fridge in the room, there was no microwave (not that we needed either one - but it seems weird to have a fridge instead of a microwave, or a fridge without one). We had a one night stay at this holiday inn express; easy to find as it is just off the main highway; we had a suite which included a separate bedroom and TV room with pull out couch; the place was extremely clean and all the furniture, linens etc seemed very new. the bed was very comfortable; 4 pillows for each bed; there was a microwave and small fridge along with a coffee pot; a few plastic dishes and utensils were provided. Also had iron and ironing board. Looked like a great pool and hot tub; a separate fitness room, although small, had new equipment. A continental breakfast fairly standard with all the holiday inn express hotels was available in the morning and was included in the price. Had dinner at a pub up the street from the hotel called Setters pub; the food was really good. Overall, enjoyed the short stay at this holiday inn express. Stayed one night in this hotel on our way to the Canadian Rockies. Check-in was fast and efficient, our room well maintained and clean. Free high-speed internet was offered as well. The free breakfast buffet was decent. At the end of the breakfast period an announcement was made that buffet was now closed and that guests should feel free to take their trays to their rooms - quite rude behaviour at the end of an otherwise flawless stay. This is a newish, well-designed hotel that has a good set of amenites for the size of town in which it is located. The price is, of course, higher than an ordinary motel, but we felt we got something for the extra expense. The rooms, lobby, entrance, and hallways are all above average. In fact, they felt very much like a big-city hotel. The indoor pool with waterside was a hit with the kids. Travellers with a lot of luggage in the car can make use of one of several luggage carts. Situated on a service road just off the highway, road noise was not a problem. You can't walk to downtown Salmon Arm, a kilometre away down a steep hill, but there is a decent family restaurant and a good-looking pub just up the service road. The air conditioner was noisier than it should be. The complimentary breakfast had good variety and enough for everyone. However, the breakfast room was too small to accommodate a full hotel. Also, why does a hotel of this quality insist on providing only paper cups and styrofoam cups, bowls, and plates?

Overall, we were disappointed in the hotel. We booked the hotel based on others reviews and found the suite rooms to be small compared to standard rooms and very over-priced. We also found the customer service to be lacking. i had booked our accomodations 6 months in advance. We were travelling in from 'vancouver and I wanted to make sure we had a space to stay around the kids bedtime. The day before we travelled i called central resrvation to confirm my reservation and everything was fine. When we arrived to the hotel at 7:30 the following night we were told that our reservation had been terninated because they did not have the right credit card information. After waiting for 15 minutes they called central reservation who indeed confirmed my valid reservation. The guy at the front desk told me that there was nothing they could do for me because all of the room were full and that we wouldnt be able to find accomodations there at all. I asked to speak to the on duty manager and she did not even have the courtouesy to come out of her office. She told me over the receptions phone that they could do whatever they wanted becuase they were privately owned so it didnt matter that central reservation still confirmed my room, she siad they had every right to bump me.I was not offered an apology or given any help in finding some accomodations elsewhere, they didnt even offer. Instead, because there was a festival in town we had to drive over 200km to find lodging. We did not arrive to our new hotel until after midnight. We were forced to travel into the mountains on unfamiliar roads with a six month old and 2 year old. which was the whole point in booking 6 months in advance so i didnt have too. We wasted close to 2 hours in salmon arm while they tried central reservation and the staff talked amongst themselves. I have never been treated so inconsiderate and callous. I booked with them becuase of the name and i have stayed in holiday inn express before, albeit not this one. I will not be staying in one ever again. Since my business was not important back then it shouldnt matter that my business, my companies business, and everyone else I knows business doesnt happen in the future. I even wrote a letter of complaint with no response. If i can save even one fellow traveller from my nightmare and a rather upsetting start to our family vacation ill be happy. Do not take your reservation and confirmation number for face value. Especially at this location. its a shame too becuase it looked like a nice new building. Word of warning to all travellers: The Hospitality Inn Express in Salmon Arm is not so hospitable! The credit card I used to book my reservation a month before I went on my road trip exceeded its limit while I was travelling. I wasn't aware of this fact until I showed up at the Hospitality Inn in Salmon Arm, B.C. at 10:30 pm after 3 hours on a ferry and 6 hours on the road with two teenage girls in tow. I was curtly informed the room had been released because my credit card had been declined. What a surprise, since I had used it only an hour before to purchase dinner. I was told the only room available was a suite for $71 more than the room I had booked. This was a significant difference and not one I was prepared to accept. I was left stranded. The desk clerk showed little sympathy for my plight, in fact chuckled as I walk away. While the hotel certainly was within its right to cancel my reservation when my credit card was declined I never did receive a satisfactory response when I asked 1.) why they assumed I would be a no-show, 2.) why they assumed I would use that particular card rather than another credit card or cash 3.) why they could not have given me a suite for the same amount or slightly higher amount 4). why they didn't contact me to let me know there was a problem (I had given them my cell phone number but they didn't bother recording it, only my home phone number, go figure) It was all business with The Hospitality Inn. There was no interest in helping me resolve a problem I wasn't even aware existed. It left a very negative impression on me and had can't help but think that the way the manager of that hotel handled the situation does little to support all the marketing this large international chain does. I would have received far better service from any other hotel, I'm sure!
