Pay careful attention to the hotel pictures. The hotel and room was clean but had a worn and outdated look and feel. The bed and bedding was clean but worn. The bedspread is a dark color which allows an active imagination to conjure up negative thoughts. Rooms advertised with a lake view actually have a view of the hotel swimming pool and boat launching facilities, with the lake and mountains in the distance. While the prices are low, I would advise that you may not feel you are getting your moneys worth. We booked through a website lakehavasuhotels.reservetravel.com. They imply that they charge a $5 deposit but it is actually a non-refundable fee. We should have known better and used the more reputable web sites. The hotel does not have its own site. They also advertise wireless internet available - but it turns out it is only accessible in the lobby area. I would use this place only as a last choice.

5 of 5  Great Stay, A TripAdvisor Member, california, March 8, 2008

Stayed over the WPA weekend and enjoyed the hotel very much. The rooms weren't modern but very clean and had a great view of the lake. Pool was heated and we used the complimentary Gym membership. A lot of long terms guest were staying at this hotel for months at a time, shows that they must be doing something right. Restauarant was pretty good and the bar was fun for karaeoke at night. Overall nice stay and only a block from the London Bridge and Restaurants.

5 of 5  Best of havasu highly recommended, A TripAdvisor Member, Ridgefield, WA, June 30, 2004

The Island Inn in Lake Havasu is great, great food in the hotel restaurant, great rates, great service, The only complaint I had was the only coin operated laundry in the hotel was broken while I was there. The rates were great, a king room that was very large by hotel standards with a view of the lake cost me about $79 a night with AAA discount. And this was during spring break! , Can’t beat that in Havasu. This was my first time staying at the Island Inn; I frequently visit Lake Havasu and would recommend anyone going to Lake Havasu stay at the Island Inn.

5 of 5  Best in Lake Havasu, A TripAdvisor Member, Omaha,NE, February 23, 2004

The absolute best value in Lake Havasu. Every other hotel in Lake Havasu that is comparable in size and ellegance will cost you much more. I refuse to stay anywhere but the Island Inn and strongly suggest you do the same. Friendly staff, upscale service, and resonable prices.

4 of 5  Great value and location, A TripAdvisor Member, Williams AZ, March 23, 2007

There were a group of us playing golf the area and wanted a reasonable but good hotel in the area. The hotel is located on the island, just over London Bridge and within easy walk of three nice restaurants and the bridge. Rooms were excellent - clean, modern and large. The staff did there job, but didn't go out of their way to assist. The pool was large warm and very clean as was the spa. The only letdown was breakfast - cool coffee and a few packets of cakes and bagels and a loaf. Skip breakfast and go over the bridge to JBs. Bar/grill was closed - perhaps would be open in a few weeks when spring breakers arrive!

Owner response, Lake Havasu City, arizona, July 31, 2007

I want to first say thank you to all our guests and I hope you have enjoyed your stay with us at the Island Inn.

Since February of 2007, I have been fortunate enough to take over as general manager of this property. My main purpose was to turn this property around to the "Resort" property it once was.

Since my take over, we have brought in a new restaurant and bar to our property. We are also in the process of putting in a Sushi and Saki bar which should be completed by September.

We have installed wireless internet, a free gym membership with the London Bridge Racquet and Fitness Club, and 24 hour security. And with the state beach 100ft in front of our property and 2 launch ramps within a 1/4 mile, we can truly offer you unbeatable accommodations.

Our main goal at the Island Inn resort is to provide our guest with a resort style stay at hotel prices. We can guarantee you that we will beat any price of any hotel on the island. If we don’t, I will personally pay for your room.

With our friendly safe, great location, and fun environment, we can promise you a great say at our resort. So bring the whole family, even the dog sparky, cause we know he's family too.

I wish you a safe trip to Lake Havasu and I look forward to your stay with us.

4 of 5  Great Pool, A TripAdvisor Member, Kansas City, Missouri, February 19, 2007

We were at the Island Inn for 5 nights in Feb. We found the hotel to be very clean. Rooms have new carpet and have just been repainted. Service and staff were top notch. Pool area outstanding. The hotel does need new carpet in the halls but over all this is a great hotel. Our rate was $60.00 per night. Not bad for a resort area.

4 of 5  Highly recommended, A TripAdvisor Member, WI, January 20, 2007

The staff was really nice & friendly. The motel lobby, pool and our room all were really nice and clean. It would be nice to see a few more amenities offered but it was a nice place for the price.

4 of 5  Enjoyed my stay at the Island Inn, A TripAdvisor Member, San Diego, CA, January 11, 2004

I visit LHC often, but this is the first time to stay at the Island Inn. I stayed in the off season so the price was very reasonable. My room was on the third floor so I had a beautiful view of the lake, city, and mountains all from my balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a lounge and restaurant with live entertainment that we enjoyed. The Island Inn was quiet the weekend we were there, but considering the excellent location, I'm sure they are very busy in the spring and summer months.I will stay at the Island Inn again and I will recommend it to my friends. From a Frequent Happy LHC Visiter

4 of 5  Very Nice Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, October 8, 2003

Very nice clean hotel! We will stay again. The staff was great the rooms are nice for the price. Boat lanching is real close and that makes it nice too!

4 of 5  Great Bargain, A TripAdvisor Member, Mesa, AZ, April 29, 2003

Have stayed at the Island Inn several times in the past few years. For our bi-yearly boat trips to Havasu, this is the best place to operate from. We used to stay at the Nautical Inn but since the 1970's, the prices have steadily increased with no real change in services. Only good point is having your boat in the lagoon at Nautical. Anyway, the Island Inn has good, clean accomodations, the food is great and they have plenty of parking. A good view of the island also. Launch at Site Six, it's free and well protected.Enjoy.

2 of 5  not great, A TripAdvisor Member, phoenix,AZ, November 2, 2008

we had a 3 night stay at this hotel and I booked our Lakeview, pool side, one king room about 3 -4 weeks prior to stay. 1st I called to add a night and the desk clerk could not find my reservation. Got that handled. when we got there to check in clerk was a mess and again he couldnt find my rez. finally, got my room which we could not see the pool because a wall blocked our window, and it had 2 beds. we called down 2 be switched, were told they had no kings left but moved us closer to the pool. We moved and it still was blocked and the tv was very old and very small. desk help the whole weekend was terrible. No ice machines on our whole floor. the restaurant was open food was good priced a little high but it took over an hour for 5 of us to get our breakfast, and then it wasnt right. went to denny's down the road after that. The good thing about the hotel was its location very close to beaches and shopping and walking distance to the bridge.

2 of 5  clean but nothing else, A TripAdvisor Member, prescott, AZ, December 4, 2006

The hotel room was very clean, clean beds and bathrooms. An average hotel for the price. The staff was pleasant but lost. All excuses were" we are new". The rate quoted over phone was not honored upon check in. We had to argue with the asst. manager. They do not email your quote when you call to reserve so you take your chances. Continental breakfast was not mentioned but available on the weekend which was a nice surprise since there was 5 of us. The staff kept there cool through all the complaints at the check in/out counter. Dogs are everywhere, although we did not here any barking all night. Would not stay there again because of the hassles we encountered.

2 of 5  It's a clean room with a bed, A TripAdvisor Member, Southern Cali, June 15, 2005

Stayed here, $89 bucks for a weekend night which is decent since it's summer rates and for how close you are to the water, you can walk to the beach. Room smelled nice, was clean.

Now the negatives, we were not greeted at checkin in fact she was quite rude and didn't even look us in the face. It started off we waited a bit which was fine, we were behind a lady. This other person is there on the computer but didn't say boo to us. After a bit this couple, comes in, walks up to the other lady and started checking in. Our jaws dropped that the lady that checked us in & the other one, SAW we were waiting a while but ignored it. So we were very invisible.

She gave us the worst room in the place, out of 4 floors we got the bottom floor right next to the check in desk and maintenance room. So we had the pleasure of hearing the phone ringing at all hours plus other clanking sounds. It's like she had it out for us and we are nice people, don't get me wrong. Otherwise, we would have told off the other couple and the check in people. We just grinned and beared it.

Nice big entertainment center that could fit a 52" TV, but they had a 9" in there. Had all these rods to hang clothes, but no hangers. No Coffee Maker. Just very basic. Our window looked out into the driveway where people park to check in, so occassionally we'd get a honk or two. Had to keep the curtains closed most of the time for privacy.

Ate breakfast at Juicy's and it was fine. Our server was excellent!

Thankfully we were just there to shower and sleep, but if we were going to hang out like we usually do at hotels, this would have been so depressing.

2 of 5  Undisclosed Fees, A TripAdvisor Member, San Dimas, CA, June 3, 2004

I am mainly disapointed that it was not disclosed that payment in full was required prior to check in. I understand that the hotel owners are protecting themselves by collecting payment up front. However, it would have been nice if the visitor was notified of this prior to arrival. I was planning to leave a credit card as is customary with any other hotel and have the option, which in this case I was planning on, to pay cash when checking out (I was sharing the cost with a few friends arriving at different times).

In addition to the up front payment that was not disclosed, an additional $300.00 deposit was required. This also makes sense, however, again it would have been nice to have been informed prior to arrival.

I am also disapointed that the $300.00 deposit is so rapidly withdrawn from the account and how slowly it is credited back to the account. I have been informed, after the trip is complete and 2 days later, that it may take up to 10 days or longer to credit my account, where as the money quickly was withdrawn within 1 to 2 days.

Finally, while planning ahead and making reservations early is tipically rewarded with better rates and premium places to stay while vacationing to a popular place like Havasu Lake, it does not necessariliy apply here. The price quoted to me over the phone when making my reservation at least one month prior to check in was 209/night and I felt fortunate to have gotten what I was lead to believe was the last spot in Havasu for the weekend. When I arrived, I found that additional rooms were available for arround 175/night, but because my reservations were made in advance the lower rate did not apply to my stay.

I understand that people with lack of respect for property and sense of resposibility has forced the owner to protect him/herself. I am not even that upset about the rates. I am upset that I was not informed completely of the rules and payment procedures to stay at this hotel.

Here are some suggestions I would make to the visitor.

1) If making arrangements to stay with friends who will help with the cost of the hotel, collect the fees up front. Traditional hotel payment arrangements don't apply at the Island Hotel.

2) If you are like me, I don't like to use credit cards. However, in this case I would recommend that you use the credit card and not the check card. I have learned that the banks are eager to take the money from your account but not so eager to give it back. You may think you have budgeted accurately, but because it takes so long for the money to be returned, the budget after the trip may be tighter than you had expected.

3) If you don't like crowds, stay away from holiday weekends in Havasu. Over all, I had a good time, but the attitudes of the employees (in all of Havasu City, not just this hotel) reflect the poor attitudes of the majority of young (and some older) irresponsible visitors. A trip to Havasu over a holiday may be something you do once or twice, but I have been there many other times on off weekends and week days and have enjoyed the lake much more.

1 of 5  Absolutely Horrible, A TripAdvisor Member, eastcoastdude1, July 9, 2008

Well we called to book our rservation over the phone and couldn't get through to the front desk for over an hour. Finally we got through and booked a king bed balcony room. When we arrived, the front desk clerk looked like he just woke up. Messy hair and jeans that looked like they were about to fall off. When we got our keys, it showed we had a room with 2 double beds. We told them we reserved a king and they said sorry but they don't have anymore king beds left. This was ridiculous, especially since we booked it 1 month ago. They didn't offer any refund and said they are sold out and can't do anything about it. Then we asked about the restaurant and bar but they said it closed down over a month ago. But all over the websites they say they have one. They don't even give you a free breakfast. They also claim free wireless internet but it is only in the lobby and it wasn't working half the time. We asked them what to do and they said they didn't know how to fix it. The room was extremely outdated. at least they had a nice view of the lake but that was the only good thing about our stay. $99 per night....yeah right never again. This hotel was just a larger motel 6!!!!!

1 of 5  Motel YUCK.........., A TripAdvisor Member, ORANGE COUNTY, CA, June 28, 2008

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.......They have unexperienced juveniles with bad attitudes running this hotel. When I asked to speak to the manager CHERYL, I was told 'she comes in when she wants, like....maybe noon, maybe 1, just like, whenever...." Yeah, that's a good way to run a business. We booked a KING, GROUND LEVEL, NON-SMOKING LAKE VIEW ROOM-we were given a 3rd floor room with 2 double beds and a view of the parking lot. The room STUNK of stale cigarettes and mildew. There was no coffee maker and the fridge was unplugged (it never did cool down) and the air-conditioning was off-it took until the next day to reach a decent temperature. There were 3 other cars in the parking lot, so we're not quite sure WHY we were remanded to the 3rd floor......There is NO restaurant (even though they advertise one), work men milling about everywhere (CONSTANTLY SMOKING), the lobby is FILTHY, the employees look like they should be at the beach, not at all dressed for work; and, get this-THE NEWLY POSTED EMPLOYEE ONLY PARKING IS CLOSER THAN THE HANDICAPPED PARKING!!! That pretty much gives you an idea of where their guests rank. We called the front desk at 8pm (6/25/08) and got NO ANSWER! They never did answer the phone that night, and when we went to the front desk, there was no one there and the door to the office was CLOSED. There is no 'secure boat parking'-our friends had their boat cushions stolen-even though they advertise 'SECURITY'. I won't even get into the bug infestation or the bedding-both of which are surely homeless shelter rejects. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR-SPEND A COUPLE OF DOLLARS MORE AND STAY IN A REPUTABLE PLACE. THIS PLACE COULD REALLY MAKE YOU PHYSICALLY SICK IT'S THAT DISGUSTING................AND PATHETIC.

1 of 5  Cockroach Inn!, A TripAdvisor Member, Phoenix, Arizona, November 19, 2005

Bug Infested with cockroaches and their droppings. Need I say more. First Cabin Club of Lake Havasu made our accomodations for us.

1 of 5  lasting impression, A TripAdvisor Member, California, August 9, 2005

The rooms were infested with bugs...On the floors and in the beds. We were eatin alive. The staff smoked non stop and the lobby and elevator area was enough to gag you..Had to ask 4 times for the extra bed we ordered when we made our reservations 2 months in advance...Enough said!!!

1 of 5  Terrible , A TripAdvisor Member, chino hils, california, July 11, 2005

Filthy, bug infested, bad customer service, very smelly, flat pillows, tiny dirty bathrooms, rude unhelpful staff. Save your money.

1 of 5  Dont go here, A TripAdvisor Member, Riverside, Ca., July 8, 2003

This is possibly the worst hotel in lake havasu. If you plan on having a good time dont stay here. The staff sucks, the rooms suck, and the girls suck.... Our power was out for three days, our air conditioner didnt work, the beds were falling apart, and we were still charged full price..
