Pretty good | Read all reviews
I stayed here with a large group, we had 4 rooms. The hotel was pretty empty, but there was a large loud group at the pool after 10:00pm. The rate was great. The breakfast was fairly good, except it was all starches/carbs. No fruit or yogurts....the employees were friendly though. I have stayed at alot of small hotels in and around Florida, and this was not the best, but by far not the worst either. I would stay there again.

I usually don't write reviews about hotel stays, although I do use them to research places and weed out the real problem places. This motel was quite a surprise, on the positive side of things. Don't let the stark blue colors in the picture of this motel scare you off. It really was a little gem. I was going for cheap for my last night before flying home and found this motel for under $50 using 20 percent discount link for Choice Hotels (works for all Choice properties and your reservation is made thru the actual Choice site but opens a special room discount option called 'Small/Significant Organization Savings Rate' (just google that to find it as I don't want to get in trouble posting a link here, and it wont come up in the usual Choice site unless you go to the link to it. ) also, no clubs to join and no email strings and no bidding attached to this discount option). It offered quite a savings, as most places I considered were in the $75 - $90 range for that night. This motel is a older 2 story horseshoe shaped building with all exterior corridors surrounding a nice size pool. It also had a kiddie pool for the little ones. Appears it was not always a Quality inn, but perhaps was previously a Holiday Inn or a Howard Johnson prior to being renovated. Room had a good air conditioner and carpeting was newer. Interior was bright with lots of good lighting and appeared recently painted. Bed was in good condition and comfy. Although this was a chain, the owner was a war veteran and really seemed to run the place more like a ma & pa place. All the workers we encountered were extremely friendly. It just felt homey with the little touches and the courtyard area foliage and decking. Stayed just prior to Memorial day and the lobby and outside of the hotel was decorated with lots of stars & stripes and red/white/blue. Last thing I wanted to mention was the FREE breakfast spread guests at this hotel wake up to. It had those little ma & pa extras like REAL coffee mugs and HEATED waffle syrup for your U-make your own waffles. Also had a nice selection of danish, muffins, cereals, juices, and tasty fresh baked bundt cakes. My little favorite was sausage biscuits and they also had full size corn dogs and something that looked similar, but was a Jimmy Dean sausage link wrapped in a pancake. He had to have at least 20 different breakfast items. This breakfast spread, with its ma & pa touches, was way better than what I had on the start of my trip at LaQuinta USF. The breakfast alone has got to save you at least $7 per person if you ate at the Perkins next door. Hotel is located right off the highway exit so I would request a 2nd floor room on the inside of the courtyard to isolate you from the traffic noise. I would definately stay here again. We found this motel to be a great value in a very convenient location. Close to airport, Busch Gardens, University of Southern Florida. The owner maintains a clean and attractive property with outdoor pool. Very good continental breakfast. Pleasant affordable 5 days stay here for my wife and our son. For the price, it was an excellent deal. I paid about $50 a night with an internet deal. The breakfast started at 6:30 am, but they do have donuts earlier. Milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, make-it-your-self fresh belgian waffle and hot syrup, and canned fruit. Also 2 types of cereal, bread, muffins, along with standard cafeteria style biscuits, sausage patty, and processed egg patties. They had newspaper at our door by 8 am, or you can pick it up at the front desk ealier. The pool is large (10 meter) for a small hotel, but was unheated. It is conveniently located next door to Perkins, very short walk to a cuban fast serve restaurant (good platanos/spanish rice/pork/beef, etc), Quiznos, and a bar (all within a 4 minute walk). More restaurants (burger king, caribbean bakery/restaurant, etc.) within a 10 minute walk across the street. A grocery store (publix) was within a 1/2 mile walk on Florida Ave. We were about 1 mile from a Grand Prix go-cart/videogame/fast pitch baseball center with 2 go-cart track. My son got a kick out of the $20 all you can play video/miniature golf/gokart deal on Tue/Thursday..... We raced around the track soo much, my butt was sore (on Nebraska road, about 1/2 mile north of Bearss). The MOSI (museum of science and industry) was about 5 miles north off 275, the Lowry Zoo (wonderful place to spend the day!) was about 8 miles north, the aquarium was about 12 miles away, and Busch Garden was about 10 miles north. We got the triple threat ticket, and save about $10 off gate price for the Zoo, aquarium, and MOSI, but the coupons were all over for them, so it might not be worth it. The MOSI was a little disappointment, like many other MOSI in other cities, poorly maintained computers and exhibits disappoints me. They had a display that was well made to teach about triangulation method for finding distance to the stars, but someone painted over all the angular measurement, so the kids can't see the degree... What a shame! No one took the time to glue a new template on over the painted surface..... Why do they let these exhibits go down hill all over the countries? I don't understand? The hotel is old, and show its age. The door doesn't latch well, and the maid failed to secure it one day. The sheets are old, and worn paper thinned. The staff is friendly. The guests are friendly. The kids' eyes glow at the hot waffle machine, and they were goooood off the griddle. The OJ and milk were always available. So the breakfast was well worth it to start the day. You know, if you expect the ritz, then pay the ritz price. For a comfortable affordable stay, you can't beat this quality inn. I booked this hotel just before New Year's because it was the cheapest point value hotel in the area. It was 6000 points a night, so I stayed 2 nights for free! It's not fancy, but I was pleased since it was free. Rooms are standard for a 2-star or so. Clean room, but some of the furniture, carpet, etc were a little dated. But that was ok! Staff was great, breakfast was even better. Parking is free, location is farther away than lots of other hotels, but honestly it's sooooo easy to get around this town. We traveled downtown in 15-minutes, and we're tourists. Busch Gardens would be very close if you have a car. Wireless internet was great and free. Breakfast was cereals, donuts, fruits, bagels, cream cheese, toast, peanut butter, jelly, several juices, eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, coffee, etc. You really get a meal here! I also recommend Cherry's Restaurant, which is within walking distance. Just go a block west of the hotel, and it's off the street in a little strip mall. They have great tv's for sports, good food with a discount for hotel guests, beer, and children were right at home if you're with the fam. I don't know if I would think it was so great if I'd had to pay $60-80 a night, but it was a great place to get 2 free nights for 12,000 points. Courtyard has a nice pool (it was nicer than the 3-star hotel I stayed at!). Cute little sheltered area to enjoy the Florida air. This place would be great for families on a budget looking for a pool, wireless internet, and a breakfast that'll fill up the whole family! This little hotel really surprised us. We were in town only for 1 night and this hotel fit the bill. It was reasonably priced (49.00 w/discount + tax) and clean. It had a few imperfections like a cigarette burn on the vanity, and a tiny stain on the carpet, but for the price it was completely satisfactory. The bed was very comfortable, the cable TV reception was clear and the A/C was nice and cold. The best part about this hotel is the complimentary breakfast that is served in the lobby. Some of the offerings were fresh juice, coffee, danishes, bagels, sausages wrapped in pancakes and home-made waffles. It was all delicious! This hotel is a gem and we would definately return! It was fine for what we needed. Courteous staff. Breakfast was mainly sugar. Very nice kept up grounds. We meet extremely nice people staying there. Nothing special, but not bad.I would stay there again, but not in the cold months, if youre planning on using the pool. I only wished there was a hot tub! We wanted so much to like this place because the staff is outstanding and very helpful.Still, this older facility presents its guests with problems that should not happen, and the staff then has to scramble to catch up. First, the facts. Decent location right off the interstate. Nice grounds and a really nice looking unheated pool and kiddie pool. Rooms are relatively clean with old appointments, and the bed was not overly comfortable. They started by booking us into a smoking room, but were more than willing to change when we told them our nonsmoking preference. The next room was okay except when we woke up in the middle of the night and turned on the bathroom light, a bunch of little bugs headed for the hills. There also were a couple of beetles that I captured and removed. We mentioned all this to the manager the next day, and he agreed to move us upstairs, where we stayed for our last day in bug-free comfort. The manager said this sometimes happens with a first-floor unit that opens to the outdoors, as their rooms do. Before moving, we had trohble with the room's telephone. The cord kept shorting out. We mentioned that and a repairman took care of it instantly. When our laptop would not recognize the hotel's wireless internet service, the manager on duty even let us use his laptop to check email. That's being extremely accommodating, in our book. Breakfast is a sort of standard mini-buffet, with a waffle maker, cereal, juice, pastries, doughnuts and sausage patties. Not bad. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. My room was very clean. I liked the pool area. The was a Perkins next door but otherwise you needed to drive and turn around as main access to interstate was the other way. The only disappoinment was that I had read about some nice cxomments about their breakfast. It was not all that great. I would go to the Perkins or the Cracker Barrel My family stayed there Memorial Day weekend. The Hotel and the room were clean. It was within 6 miles from the zoo and Busch Gardens. Hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. Well worth the cost of the room. The only issues were the pool area was used for partying after 10:00 p.m. Older inn, but safe and clean, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Wished we could have had larger beds than doubles, and the AC unit seemed to be disconnected somehow with its housing in the wall, letting in some moisture. But otherwise, this inn, though older and in need of some updating, was a great value. The rating above would be "above average" in its price category, but I gave it a neutral because it's certainly not as nice as more expensive and/or newer properties. Stayed March 8, 2007 after flying into St. Pete's with our 3 sons (11 - 15). No fold-away bed available. Room is OK for a value hotel. Good breakfast with wafflemaker. This was a quick overnight and off to Busch Gardens in the morning. Used Choice Club points for a free stay. No complaints just a little worn. Tim, Halifax, Nova Scotia I stayed at the Quality Inn at the Bearss exit. This is an older hotel which has been fairly well maintained. My room could have been cleaner and had a strongly perfumed scent. The breakfast was above average. I might stay here again. My husband, two kids, and I stayed here for one night (8/3/05.) We took a chance. The room was clean. Your basic room with 2 double beds. The pool was ok. The breakfast was great. Better than we expected. Next door is a Perkins where you get a discount off your meal if you show your room key. It was close to all the major attractions, and about 15min from downtown. It was worth the $44 price, which we got off the choice hotels website. A good spot for a night or two. This is a nice hotel for the money. For uner $50 had a clean room overlooking a beautiful courtyard with pool and gazebo. Great, Centralized location right off RT#275.

Staff was courteous and responsive but the rooms were literally falling apart! Anything that was screwed to the wall was falling off-Ex: curtain rods, t-paper holders, tissue dispenser, towel bars. All walkways to rooms had stains and spills that seemed to be there quite a while-needed mopped up. Bird in lobby was so annoying that it counter-acted the enjoyment of the free breakfast. Motel was generally quite run down and I am surprised that Quality Inn has thier name on it. It did have a good location and we felt safe there unlike some other compriably priced motels. Good value for the more cost conscieous travelers. Nicely landscaped pool area. Get a second floor room! There were ants around the vanity area! The tub sank! I felt as though I was standing on a water bed! I was only able to book a "smoking permitted" room, and needless to say, it stunk! We used our choice points and stayed a couple of free nights at this hotel in March 2006. We arrived at the hotel around 4:00 PM to check in. They did not have a record of my reservation. I have booked numerous hotels on the choice website and this is the first time this has happened. I had a printed copy of my reservation so the clerk honored my reservation. If we would have arrived late in the evening this could have been a problem. The hotel is an older hotel that they seem to be tryig to fix up. The room was clean and the carpets looked newer. The outside walkways had peeling paint. We did have trouble with the toliet once but was able to get it working by adding water to the tank. The pool area looked nice, but it was too cold to swim in. The paint on the bottom of the pool was peeling. The free breakfast was much better than average. It had several hot items. Overall our stay was ok. I probably will not stay in this hotel again unless I can’t find anything that looks better. Just got back from spending a few days at the Quality Inn. The hotel itself was older but very clean. Stayed in a room off the back of the hotel with an adjoining door to the next room. When the neighbors took a shower it seemed like they were showering in the middle of our room. Could hear their alarm going off in the early morning hours and I can assume they heard ours as well. Breakfast was ok for the usual breakfast bar. Two days in a row the cleaning people didn't shut our door properly so our room was open the entire day while we were out. Luckily nothing was missing. Addressed it at the front desk...got an "oh wow". We booked this Motel for a 3 night stay during our trip to Busch. What a mistake. The first night, we decided to leave. We could barely sleep from the filthiness of the room. The side of the bed had a stain the size of a dinner plate of unknown origin but appeared to be blood. The blankets and bed covers were stained and looked to have never been washed. Obviously, don't even ask about the upholstery on the chairs. A/C blew all nite and never got the room very cool. Exterior: stairs up to room rusted through on one step. Of course, you would only notice that when a wind came through and blew the cigarette ashes away. These were left by the numerous trashy people that were lurking on the walkways. There were at least 10 people standing or sitting around the outside smoking, talking on cell phones, or looking slightly dazed by drink, drugs, perpetual malaise or a combination of all. Our kids tried to swim in the sub zero swimming pool but it was just too cold. Cannot really blame them for the cold but I thought the pool was advertised as heated. The ducks swimming in the pool the next morning didn't seem to mind, however. Staff was friendly though. No complaints. Breakfast was okay. This was definitely not a good option for a family stay. For a one night stand .......maybe........if you were alone and just needed to crash. For $10 more, we moved to the Comfort Inn on East Busch. Closer and the difference was like night and day........... Whatever you do, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! We had a really bad experience here. First off, in our room, we discovered that the bathroom door was extremely hard to lock. Then, we discovered that the bathroom was covered in mold and just overall looked disgusting. We then found out that the pool wasn't heated, so it was extremely cold. Also, they had these swing things that were covered in gunk. When we got back to the room, we discovered that they never gave us any bath towels, so we called the front desk. They said that they would bring over some towels immediatly, but they never came. Overall, I would never stay at this hotel ever again! I suppose it was ok for just 1 night, but it still was a very unplesant experience Room we requested was king n/s with micro/frig. Told N/A when checking in so took one without micro/frig. Ice machine so noisy we asked to be moved and they gave me room next to first room. Said "no way" and got room on side of parking lot. Latino in room above me up all night. Thought he might leave but he didn't. Called desk next night and they sent someone to threaten police visit. Next day we checked out--2 days early. Think they have long-term construction people living there. Bird in reception area so noisy I hated to eat free breakfast. No smiles at reception desk even on check-in. No apologies for noise. No customer service attitude. I hear the Holiday Inn Express at Wesley Chapel is decent. Had fair experience at Qinta near Busch a few years ago. Will not return to Quality Inn if they paid me. I rented 4 rooms for a one-night stay in Tampa. I chose the hotel because of name recognition and because it was the closest hotel to where we had to meet earlier in the night. We arrived at the hotel around 11pm, and checked in. Half of the rooms we were given were smoking rooms even though we booked non-smoking. We were told that there were no other rooms available but that one of our rooms would be upgraded to s suite. The non-smoking suite had trash left over in it including cigarette butts and a fishnet stocking. The rooms were so dirty that we felt more comfortable not taking showers than taking a chance on stepping in to one of them. Had a horrible experience with management at this hotel, but I'll just leave it at that. This was the worst hotel experience of all time, and I was incredibly embarrassed to my friends that I booked it. I just came back from staying at this hotel. The lady, Janice, was the most rude individual and not to mention that the grout wanted to come out and have breakfast too! My suggestion: find another hotel!
