I've been to Myrtle Beach four times on business. Three of those times I have stayed at this hotel. After each stay I've, despite being there for work, I've felt like I've been on vacation. Yes, there is construction but if you get on the south side of the building the noise is minimal. The staff is completely friendly and accomodating, the breakfast area is well stocked and surprisingly tasty for a continental deal, the rooms are comfortable and clean and waking up to an ocean sunrise is rarely a bad thing. The hotel is down the strand from where all the action is so it's quieter and more family friendly in that regard. For work or vacation, this hotel flat out rocks. I wish I could wrap it up and take it with me everywhere I go. We were very happy with this hotel. The rooms were nice and the service was excellent. Very good continental breakfast included. This was a quiet location with no bars or restaurants adjacent. Our room overlooked the beach and pool area. There was construction going on next door to build a new wing. It was not distracting and was not going on after 5:00pm. Only 3 miles from Broadway at the Beach. We ate at Joes Crab Shack (yum) and Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant (excellent). Great Experience. We stayed at this hotel the last week of August with our 4 1/2 year old. What a great place to stay! Check in only took about 5 minutes and the ladies at the desk were friendly and funny. We were on the 10th floor, oceanfront. Our room was very clean as was the entire hotel and property. The rocking chairs on the balcony were great, we loved sitting and watching the ocean. We must have picked a good time to stay because the pools and beach were never crowded and we never had to wait long for the elevator - we never even shared a ride with anybody. One pool, the kiddie pool and jacuzzi are under cover which was nice the one day it rained. The other pool and lazy river were just steps away. Pools very clean and you could get towels at the front desk. We loved the grass area that had a playground and hammocks. The beach was steps away too. The lifeuard did the chair and umbrella rentals. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with lots of choices. Construction next door was not an issue and never bothered us. This is a hotel that we would return to on our next visit to Myrtle Beach! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. It was so clean and comfortable that we hated to leave to enjoy the beach! We had a corner suite with 2 balconies where you could relax and enjoy the ocean sounds, talk, nap or read. The sunrise and sunsets were postcard perfect. The kitchen had dishes, silverware, pots and pans and a stove and refrigerator. There was a microwave and coffee maker and a basket containing popcorn and coffee fixings. There was a fireplace and table for 4 to eat at. The sofa and chairs were great for a nap or to watch tv. The bathrooms were extremely clean...no mold or mildew. The beds are the best! Breakfast even had fresh strawberries as well as other fruits, cereals, bagels, toast, muffins, etc. You could eat overlooking the ocean. What could be more peaceful. Cookies were available in the afternoon and the staff was friendly and even called us to make sure our suite was acceptable. We enjoyed each minute at the hotel and will go back. We stayed here 8/11to8/16 on our way back tfrom Savannah, You got what you paid for here, a VERY CLEAN HOTEL, an ample breakfast and cookies in the afternoon, The pool area is well divided for families with or without children, so all can enjoy their stay. This was our 3rd year coming back to stay here, we're looking forward to next year when the new addition will be done to try that out. Great hotel. Enjoyed the hot breakfast each morning - eggs, biscuits, sausage, etc. Great location on the beach. The hotel is doubling in size and there was some construction noise, but nothing to bother our family. Excellent place to relax. From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had a pleasant stay. We came on a family vacation with our grown children and stayed in one of their suites and it couldn't have been more perfect. The breakfast has a variety of items that anyone is bound to like and the breakfast area is well kept. The warm cookies served in the afternoon are also a great treat! The rooms were VERY clean and every staff member we encountered in our week here was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful (especially when it came to recommending restaurants and entertainment). The pools were professionally cleaned every day and the beach was well maintained as well. I will be recommending this hotel to all our family and friends. We spent a week at this property and had a wonderful time. Our room was spotless, the breakfast was plentiful and the staff was warm and welcoming. Our side-view double room was very comfortable and had a small fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. There was an ironing board and iron in the closet. The beds and bedding were luxurious. The balcony had 2 rocking chairs and afternoon sun. The pool and lawn areas were well kept and the beach was beautiful. We look forward to returning. My sweetheart and I loved and enjoyed everything about this hotel, steming from the airport shuttle ride. (the driver was exceptionally nice...). Once we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with such warmth and kindness from the staff. I will admit..and I speak for my sweetheart as well.....when we return tp Myrtle Beach..we will be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites. Thanks so much again to the staff!!! Fayetteville, GA I've stayed at this hotel three times, each time booking a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite. The suites are great and reasonably priced. They have a balcony off the living room area and another slider to look out on the ocean from the master bedroom. The mini-kitchen and table are a nice addition, plus you have access to the free Hampton breakfast which is pretty good for chain hotel food. The indoor pool is nice for winter visits. Outdoor pool and a really small lazy river available in the summer. Great beach access and certainly close to all the tacky Myrtle Beach attractions like mini-golf and pancake houses. We stayed at the Hampton Inn for 5 days/5 nights. There were 3 adults and 2 children. We had a 2 bedroom suite, which had 2 bathrooms. The kids' room had a bunk bed and a queen sized bed for my mom, their grandmother. Our room had a king-sized bed. The suite was a good size, with spacious enough rooms. The beds were comfortable. Except for some mildew in the bathrooms, it was clean and housekeeping did a good job of straightening up. Breakfast was included and saved us some money each morning. They had a variety of warm and cold breakfast items. The staff was warm and helpful. It was our first time staying at this chain and we would definitely do it again! As for Myrtle Beach, itself, I would not recommend it in the winter, unless you like the cold. It's also practically a ghost town at this time of year. The summer is their big tourist season and apparently until then, the town is dead! The one good thing there is Broadway at the Beach, which has everything for the kids: Imax, Magi Quest, mini amusement park, Aquarium, etc. Not to mention the restaurants and shopping for the adults. It's basically the main attraction in Myrtle Beach, aside from the beach. It was so cold, no one swam, except for one surfer. New Year's Eve here was uneventful. They had no fireworks when the clock struck 12:00 a.m.! Apparently, they had fireworks at 8:00 p.m. at Broadway at the Beach. Located at a good wide long stretch of the ocean beach. Has a free parking garage. There are four pools and a small 'lazy river'. Short boardwalk access to the beach. Hotel was in very good condition and was very comfortable. This hotel was wonderful. My wife and I stayed at this Hampton Inn for our honeymoon were very impressed. From the time we arrived at the Hampton till the time we left everything was very clean and the employees were very friendly. This hotel offered a great view from our room. Also, the employees at the front desk were very knowledgeable about the area and many key restaurants and attractions. We would recommend that if you plan on going to Myrtle Beach, you should definitely consider this hotel. This past weekend, 9/15-9/16, I was in Myrtle Beach for my father's surprise party, and our accommodations were at the Hampton Inn and Suites. First of all, I will let you know, I spent four years working in the hospitality industry, so I am VERY nitpicky when it comes to staying in hotels. The Hampton Inn and Suites in Myrtle Beach is a fantastic property, and would definitely stay there again. We had a 2 bedroom oceanfront suite on the 9th floor. Upon entering the room, I was pleased by the spacious kitchen, which included stove, microwave, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and dishes, plus a nice counter seperating the kitchen from the sitting area. The room itself was VERY big, big "living room," plus 2 seperate bedrooms. My 9 year old was thrilled that one of the rooms had bunk beds, so he was in heaven. The beds were VERY comfortable and I slept like a baby. Unfortunately, I got the short straw, and didn't get to stay in the oceanfront bedroom, with it's own seperate bathroom, but oh well. The breakfast was excellent, the breakfast area very spacious and appealing to the eyes. We spent a lot of time on the beach and in the pool area, and actually felt sad when we had to leave. I have lived in apartments that were smaller than the room we were in...it was absolutely gorgeous. I give it a 5 out of 5. Now....as I said earlier, I DID work in hospitality, and I have NEVER stayed in a perfect hotel, so, I DO have a couple negatives about the property...nothing major though.... -carpet in the room had a big stain in the entryway.....could have easily been shampooed. -breakfast room was VERY busy. I understand it was a Sunday morning, but still VERY busy. Staff did a great job keeping everything stocked though. Alot of people had to eat standing up -pool area, while quite ample, was nothing to be impressed with. The lazy river is TINY, REALLY TINY, and pools under the building were "boring." -The kids play area was just ok....could be a little bigger. -Elevators were PAINFULLY slow. We waited at times for 5 minutes for the elevator, and then it stopped on every floor. Nothing pisses me off when people get on on the second floor to go to the first. TAKE THE STAIRS! These were very minor inconveniences that I could easily overlook. I would still give this property a 5 out of 5, and I can see why it is the #1 rated property in Myrtle Beach. Hope this helped! Our family visited Myrtle Beach for the first time this summer and it was a wonderful experience. Our stay at the Hampton Inn was a huge part of that experience. The rooms were comfortable. The access to the beach was great and the view from our room was fantastic. Trip Advisor provided some excellent information. I would stay here again. We arrived on Monday, August 13th and departed on Sunday, August 19th. Our stay at the property was nearly perfect and the weather was great! We were in a 12th floor, two bedroom family suite over looking the beach. The balcony had two wooden rockers that were perfect for relaxing later in the day and enjoying the terrific view of the ocean. The room was clean and well maintained and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed from silverware, plates, glasses to a microwave, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. Save your money on Breakfast items and go downstairs to the buffet. They always had a nice selection. One complaint we had were the elevators. during peak times in the morning and afternoon, you sometimes waited 5 minutes for it to come. An in room safe also would have been nice to store valuables in while you were at the beach, even though we never had an issue with anything missing.Other than those to minor things, excellent experience. I would recommend to anyone! All the other reviews on this property really helped me out. Drive to Broadway at the Beach, it is were all the action is at night. Arrived on Sunday, Aug. 5th and only stayed one night because of business in Charlotte on Tuesday. It has a very nice Lobby, the rooms are nice and have a Microwave, frig., Iron, Hair dryer and every thing a traveler would need in my opinion. The hotel is located directly on the Beach. Just take the elevator down to the LL (lowest level) straight out the doors past the 4 or 5 pools and Lazy river, on to the walk over directly on to the beach. The beach area in front of the Hampton Inn has a Life Guard on duty. The beach is clean and water was great the day we visited. The Hotel has a great b'fast that had biscuits & gravy, Fruit, yogurt, pastries, coffee, juice, milk, ceral, and B'fast pizza. We really enjoyed the visit. I do Recomend asking for Ocean Front, so as to get a balcony overlooking the Atlantic, just my preffrence. The hotel also has a covered parking garage. clean, kid friendly, nice staff, great location.... the rooms are clean, nice down comforters, free internet, large bathroom...everything I look for in a hotel room for a very reasonable rate. Lovely staff, beautiful accomodations. Gorgeus beach. Very clean. Perfect for families. Staff goes way beyond what is expected. Delicious breakfast. Room spacious, clean and has everything you need. This was such a wonderful hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. We had the family suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was very spacious and the location was outstanding. The views were excellent. This hotel was very clean and quiet. I loved the access to the beach and the pools. The breakfast each morning had a good variety and they changed the items each day. I would highly recommend this hotel to ANYONE who takes a trip to Myrtle Beach. I know I will stay here each and every time I come back. This is a fantastic property- one of the nicest I've visited. First of all, it's clean. Very clean. There's no sign of mold in the bathroom, the furniture was free of nicks and bumps and the maid service did a thorough job. Next, the room itself. I was in a double queen, and it was a nice size with what I'd consider a larger bathroom. The hotel provided toiletries, and patrons could pick up a free USA Today in the lobby. The beds were extremely comfortable; probably the best I've ever seen in a hotel. The hotel property itself had some nice amenities. There are four pools, including a small wave pool. There's also a jacuzzi. It's just a short walk to the ocean, which is nice. There's also a well kept, very pretty lobby area where breakfast is served every morning. Off the breakfast/lobby area is a small room with high speed internet. There's also a very small area where guests can buy a variety of essentials. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful- in fact, they went out of their way to make the experience pleasant for all of their guests. Indeed, they were some of the nicest hotel employees I've met. Finally, the clientele. I visited in late June and expected the hotel to be filled with teenagers and young children. There were children in the building, but they weren't the majority of the guests. And those children that were staying at the hotel were, for the most part, well behaved. There's no real downside to this property. The exercise room is a bit small, but that was insignificant compared to the great staff, great location and the beautiful room. This was my second year staying here. I took my four grandkids and my daughter down with me. We booked a two bedroom oceanfront suite, it was more than enough room for all six of us. We needed more towels--they were brought up immediately, as well as more pillows. The staff was so pleasant and friendly. We got there early and our room was ready, which was a plus. The kids enjoyed the pools and the hot breakfast each morning saved me money with four growing boys! I will definitely be returning next year. We stayed here 4 years ago, and after this trip, when we come back, I know we would stay here again. We are Hampton Inn fans to begin with. They have never let us down in all our travels. The Hampton Inn MB oceanfront is immaculate, friendly, perfectly located, and the beach in back of the hotel is beautifully kept. The rooms well maintained, and bright. The desk friendly, and the FREE breakfast enjoyable. The rocking chairs on the balcony wonderful. The pool was clean and heated. The guests were friendly and courteous. The rating of Trip Advisor is #1 for good reason. There are ...No complaints! I stayed at this hotel Memorial day weekend, it was crowded and noisy outside but once you enter the lobby of the hotel you feel the tranquility. The room was clean, and the view was awesome, I felt like I was in paradise amongst a bunch of "wild hogs" :-) ....They have a clean pool and very relaxing hot tub, as well as easy access to the beach. The only thing this place was missing was room service. I will stay here again, as I was very pleased. We have just returned from a week end at the Hampton Inn & Suites/Ocean Front in Myrtle Beach SC. May 5th -May 7th. It was our first time their and we were celebrateing my boyfriends birthday..... We were very very pleased with this hotel. Customer service was great. We were greated with a smile and check in went smooth. the lobby was pretty. The breakfast was delightful. We stayed on the 6 floor with an oceanfront view. How romantic it was to sit in the beautiful rocking chairs looking out at the ocean (AWESOME.) Our room was very clean and so was the restroom.. The decor was also nice. I'm glad that i read the reviews on this hotel. We decided that when we come back this is where we would stay. My family of 5 (kids age 10 to 2) and I went here the last week of April. I did a lot of checking and researching prior to booking, and although it wasn't cheap, I decided to heed the advice given on TripAdvisor, spend the extra money and hope for the best. What we found was everything and more than we could expect from an oceanfront stay. The room was near perfect (one lightbulb out) and huge for our family. The kitchenette is what we look for to enjoy eating in when possible as it is convenient and saves money. Great view. Awesome pools/lazy river/sauna.....Pools were heated pefectly. I just can't say enough about staying here. Great breakfast......Whether you are booking for a stay w/kids or business or as a couple, feel safe in choosing this hotel. I will be back next year, and I'll book at no other hotel in Myrtle Beach. It was well worth the extra money. I used to work in Holiday and Hampton Inn. This is the best Hampton Inn I have seen yet. Very clean, comfortable beds and pillows, and the decor just feels like home. This hotel has a very friendly staff, internet area was nice with 2 computers, the lobby was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were very nice and I really liked the rocking chairs on the balconies. That was so different. Became very useful when I was sitting on my balcony watching that beautiful sunrise you can see from your balcony. I was there over the Cheerleading competiton, did not have a problem at all with noise and the people were very nice. The continental breakfast was nice and good. The only thing I think this hotel could use is a larger gift shop. This was my first trip to Myrtle Beach and I would have loved to have had a gift shop in the hotel, while I was there it was too cold to go out and shop. Overall the hotel was very nice and staff was great. Very nice place. GO there! We booked this hotel the night before and were surprised to find an oceanfront room available since it was Easter weekend. The hotel decor/lobby is beautiful ! Staff was extremely friendly. Room was beautiful, bed very comfortable and loved the balcony! Great swimming pools and very clean. Will definitely be staying here again and soon! My friend had this hotel booked for a cheerleading competition and said "why don't you come?" The point of this review is not to sound spoiled but we are very lucky that my husband's company usually takes us to 5 star and occasionally 5 diamond resorts. I decided to go but didn't expect much from a 2 star hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. It was so nice to be on the ocean. We listened to the waves all night. Breakfast was fine. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We had a ball. It was a short drive to Broadway at the beach. The staff was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. When we went is was 142 / noc. This place was the best... clean, beautiful, great pool with a lazy river, playground on the beach, fireplace going in the morning during breakfast, rocking chairs overlooking the ocean. Just heaven!!!!! The best vacation I ever had... One of the most enjoyable stays we have ever had at a hotel in the USA Great rooms, comfortable and nicely furnished. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a Hotel in Myrtle Beach. With many hotels of questionable quality on the oceanfront, the Hampton Inn is definitely a diamond in the rough! Seems like a new property (or at least newly renovated). Great beds, great decor and a good breakfast (for a complimentary continental). All rooms have balconies with rocking chairs and all rooms are clean, clean, clean!! Would definitely stay again if my travels take me back to Myrtle Beach! My wife and I stayed at this hotel based on the good reviews we saw here. The hotel lived up to the reviews. We had no problems and our King Suite was very nice. Customer service was great. The breakfast was very good and the fresh cookies in the evening were wonderful. My wife and I go to Myrtle beach several times a year and we will be staying here from now on. Me and my husband spent the first two nights of our honeymoon at the hampton inn oceanfrontin myrtle beach. we booked our room about a month and a half in advance and we could only get a smoking room. we are not smokers, so i was hesitant. i took plenty of air freshner, but it turns out we did not need it. we could not even tell anyone had ever smoked in the room. we absolutely loved our room. the bed was absolutely wonderful. the tv was big. and the view was great. we were on the fourth floor. i would definetely recommend this hotel to anyone. i'm sure the rate would be a little high in the summer, so i would probably only stay there in the winter / off season. This Hampton Inn was terrific the last time we stayed there in 2005. But I just wanted to let members know that they are doing major construction at this time. It looks like they are doubling the size of the property which will be great when completed but may not be great for those staying there in the near future. It looks like they will probably be finished by next season. I visited Trip Advisor and looked for a hotel in Myrtle Beach that its members reviewed. The Hampton Inn and Suites Ocean Front was ranked pretty high. I decided to give it a try and to my pleasant suprise, what I saw on the website is exactly what I got. The hotel is clean and the employees are all friendly and responsive to your needs. While the hotel is not brand new, for the most part, it has been well maintained. Bedding is great. Balcony is sizeable with the rocking chairs-just like in the pictures. Closet is REALLY TINY! The in-room fridge and microwave are nice pluses. Bathroom-again clean. Especially liked the enclosed lobby breakfast area and open porch/balcony that are ocean front. Continental breakfast options are plentiful and hearty enough to get you through the morning. I appreciated the security -parking and pool area required your key to gain access. Down sides are few: Slipcovers on a couple of the chairs in the lobby area could stand a washing. Entrance to the hotel could be marked better. The hotel is building another tower and it looks worse than it sounds. Our room, on the 9th floor, was two rooms away from the construction site but it did not interfere with sleeping. Next year, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Great hotel for a beach stay. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good enough to start your day. I've stayed at beach hotels before and this was one of the cleanest. There is a 1inch toddler pool, a 3 inch lazy river pool (with tubes), and two larger pools. The toddler pool and one of the larger pools are covered, but not totally indoor. The beach is just footsteps away from the pool area and there is a shower to wash off the sand before you reenter the hotel. It's also located on a less crowded end of the beach. This place is totally worth the extra bucks. It's great for kids too due to the included breakfast. There is also access directly from the parking deck to the first three floors with your door key. This was perfect with kids. There is construction with the new addition, but they did a good job of not making it disturb guests. Wonderful ocean views from a larg room with a balcony. It is right on the beach with no roads to cross. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the parking is very well organised. The entrance to the car park is directly from the coast road and can be easily missed. There is construction work going on but we were not affected by this. This is a hotel very much up to the Hampton Inn standards. The pool was disappointing. The indoor pool was very steamy and smelled of chlorine. It was too cold for the outdoor pool and there is a childrens pool which sepentines in and out of the hotel building.. Our family of four just stayed here for a week this past April. It is a very clean, comfortable hotel. Our room was spotless, with crisp white bed linens (no garish bedspreads here) and towels. Breakfast room was very bright and pleasant, complimentary breakfast was fine with lots of healthy and light choices. Very friendly staff. The pool area was simple but quiet and peaceful. In retrospect, we with our two kids might have been better served at one of the more 'kid-friendly' hotels in the area with more water options. This was our first time at Myrtle Beach, and I found the typical layouts of these hotel pools (basically just converted garages) to be a bit odd. In fact, the kiddie pool at the Hampton is actually within the parking garage. Not my cup of tea! Outside pool is fine. If you are single or traveling without kids this place is particularly attractive, in my opinion. As others have said, they are in the process of expanding the premises, which should be done by next year. It didn't really bother us, but I did wake each morning to the sounds of construction. Also, there is no restaurant currently in the hotel. Be prepared to get in the car to eat. My wife and I just returned from a four day visit to this location - it is probably our sixth visit here. The Hampton Oceanfront is still one of the best things going at Myrtle Beach but there are a couple of things you might want to be alert for. Expansion of this property is underway. From the drawing in the lobby, it appears they are doubling the size of the existing building. The construction has just started to the north of the existing building. Although the potential for noise problems was lurking, we were not distracted by the workers, the concrete trucks, the huge crane, and other heavy equipment. It probably helped that our room was at the extreme other side of the building. While we were there, a sign was erected on the vacant lot to the south indicating that a thirteen story condo(?) unit is "pre-selling" there. This is a likely indicator that construction could start soon on the OTHER side of this property. As much as I love this place, I might avoid it for a little while. Please keep this in mind when booking a room. Check-in was a breeze as always. The lobby was spotless and the breakfast area was well-stocked each morning with the average items including cereals, fruit, doughnuts, danish, bagels, muffins, and biscuits. Other items are offered intermittently such as sausage and eggs. Note: the scrambled eggs were not good - they did not taste like real eggs. In fact they didn't taste like anything I've tasted. Might want to avoid them. The 24-hour offerings of juice, coffees, and hot chocolate are a real plus. During this visit we realized the carpet was pretty dirty throughout. I can only imagine what a chore it is to keep the carpet clean in a place like this. Our bare feet got real dirty real quick in our room or out in the hall. The refrigerator in our room had an ill-fitting door that seemed to keep our food from staying good and cool. Upon check-in, our room had an overpowering smell of a room deodorizer which resembled Downy fabric softner. Although this scent was not offensive, it was REAL strong and didn't go away after a couple of hours. After opening our balcony doors continuously for a couple of hours, the smell faded away. Other than these three very small things, out visit was smooth sailing. The good things that stood out include the cleanliness of the entire building, nice towels, spotless bathrooms, incredibly comfy beds, politeness of all staff members, attention to keeping the pool area neat and uncluttered, and access to drinks 24/7 in the lobby. The cool night breezes during our late evening walks made the coffee and hot chocolate very welcoming. As always, please don't forget to check with the local Chamber of Commerce before booking your trip. LARGE back-to-back motorcycle rallies in May can scare your kids (and YOU) and keep you awake at night. The majority of the rally participants are courteous but the few that aren't can make you wish real quick that you were somewhere else. Thank you for your excellent review. Our team strives to provide southern hospitality at its best. Please know that this Hampton Inn & Suites will be completely renovated this Winter....new carpet, bedding, flat screen TVs throughout. Also a new identical tower with more breakfast seating, parking, and a huge lazy river will open April 1, 2009. Ross M. Lindsay, III Co-Owner I stayed at this Hampton Inn for 4 nights while on business in February. The staff was very friendly and I found the hotel to be very clean and neat. I had a room on the 9th floor that was equipped with a microwave, coffee pot and over sized fridge. The balcony had 2 rocking chairs. The room was comfortable, but the closet very small which might be an issue for a family on vacation with lots of luggage. The free breakfast was ok. It had choices of cereal, fruit, muffins, bagels, etc. It also had a hot selection that changed each day of either eggs, sausage, ham, or french toast. The Hampton Inn is in the process of adding a second building that will be complete in April of 2009. So expect construction if you plan to stay there in the near future. I stayed at this location last weekend and was very pleased. I have visited family in myrtle beach for many years and stayed at quite a few hotels in this area. The Hampton Inn Ocean Front was a pleasant experience. The room was clean and the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Many of the hotels in this area require a 3 night minimum which has always been frustrating to me, since I am visiting family; I may only need one or two nights on each trip. The Hampton gave me this option and it was appreciated. At many of the myrtle beach hotels, they have plastic chairs on the room balcony The Hampton had wood rocking chairs. This was a nice touch. I will stay here again. Stayed at this Hampton last weekend (Sept 28-30) after staying there in July 2005 to rave reviews. The hotel is still quite nice with good service, clean rooms (mostly), and above-average free breakfast. This year, we stayed on the 12th floor which is up there a bit. However, the elevators were not a problem as they arrived quickly with one exception (during checkout on Sunday morning). The room showed a slight bit of wear and tear with mildew along the ridge between the shower tile and wall (easily fixed if the hotel would remove the caulking and replace it) and a few carpet stains. Otherwise, the hotel was still very clean, especially for Myrtle Beach. The pools had an interesting mix of temperatures. The outdoor pool was only warm when in direct sunlight (fwiw, the outside highs were 87 Friday, 81 Saturday, and 79 Sunday). The lazy river was always warm, and the covered pool was cool on Friday but heated to a great temperature on Saturday and Sunday. I would still recommend this hotel to visitors but also believe management needs to take a little more care to ensure it remains among the top ranked in Myrtle Beach. On a side note, the beach was almost non-existent during the mid-morning high tides and flies were a weird problem on Friday afternoon (though the winds seemed to correct that problem the other two days). We stayed in a 2 bedroom 6th fllor suite. We had three sons and a girlfriend. We had ample room for everyone with a pull out sofa couch in the living room area and set of bunk beds and a queen bed in one bedroom and a dqueen bed in my husbands and my room which looked out on the ocean. There was a nice balcony overlooking the pools and beach. We had a nice kitchette as well with a stove top, microwave and fridge. The free breakfast was good especially with four hungry kids. It was an added plus. We enjoyed the fireplace and porch overlooking the ocean every morning. At night i enjoyed reading by the fireplace. The kids liked the large hot tub and easy access to the beach. The lobby was closed for replacing the floor. The room was clean and we were very pleased with the help we received at the front desk trying to find different activities. We would stay here again on a return trip and recommend this hotel to families with kids. We all enjoyed our stay. There also was a covered parking ramp. We had easy access to getting places but note that you are a bit further down on the main strip so you will have to drive to get places. We were visiting Myrtle Beach to attend a friend's wedding and based upon the reviews we read decided to stay at this hotel. We also convinced several other friends to stay at the hotel - the free airport shuttle came in very handy - as we only rented one car and people had different flights/days as we assembled for the wedding. The location is great if you want to spend time on the beach - you can simply walk from the pool area to the beach. We reserved an umbrella and two chairs for the 2 days we were there. The sun was really hot and the umbrella was a necessity. Cost was $15 a day, discounted for multiple days if paid for in advance. The lifeguard set up our spots and placed a reserved sign on the chairs with our name, so we could come and go as we pleased. I had to receive a fax at the hotel and the front desk waived the fax charge for the first incoming fax. We also used the free internet access in the business centre and I logged on to the web from the free LAN access in the hotel room, all of which worked very well. Parking is convenient in the structure in front of the hotel, albeit it's quite ugly on the road side. The breakfast is basic and very busy - don't expect much here - it's plastic plates/ cups/utensils - we had to scout out a spot to eat each morning and due to the high volume and turnover, it's really quite messy, but satisfactory. The beds are very comfortable and other than the breakfast area the hotel is very clean, although the rooms are beginning to show some wear and tear/soiled seat covers, carpets, etc. A great hotel for a beach break, especially if you are with kids, but not luxurious or fancy. We booked our room at the Hampton Inn & Suites Mrytle Beach after reading the reviews on this website. We stayed in a King ocean front room. The king bed with the pillow top mattress was very, very comfortable. The extra clean and nicely furnished room lived up to the excellent reviews . Most hotels in the area have outside hallways which are cold and windy during cooler months but the Hampton Inn & Suites had interior hallways with access to rooms and pools which is a big advantage during the winter months. The cookies they served each evening was a nice touch and we were able to enjoy them by the fireplace the first evening there while the temperature was cool. The breakfast bar was adequate but did not really live up to rave reviews that it had received. The pool area was the only disappointment with a small lazy river and only one large indoor hot tub with a fairly rough sitting area. Other hotels I have stayed at in the Myrtle Beach area have several smaller hot tubs which offer more privacy than just one large hot tub. Overall this was a good place to stay especially during cooler months.

We stayed one night in February. After seeing its ratings on Trip Advisor I expected more than I got. We had problems at check-in because their computer said the room was not available, however that was an error. The bathroom in the room was moldy - my wife cleaned it off with a cloth so that signals a problem with housekeeping. The inside pool area was not clean and the doorways were badly rusted. The breakfast area is not big enough for the numbers of guest - too little seating. The area next to the hotel had construction going on and the overall look of the place was a little worn. Myrtle Beach oceanfront as a whole is a bit seedy and over developed. We had heard this from other visitors and sadly it is all too true - we will not be returning. This was our 4th visit and we were disappointed as we have had nothing bad to say in the previous visits. We requested the same side of the hotel as always and upon arrival we were told that side was full. I had requested in my reservations as always what side I wanted and somehow my request was totally ignored even though we had made the reservation weeks in advance. The lady at the desk was rude and said she thought the side I requested had a "hideous" view. What kind of employee would say that about their hotel? She told us we could come down the next morning and try to get moved. My husband went down the next morning and they said they would move us and they would call, but if we had not heard anything by noon to call them.. Of course we did not hear from them and my husband had to go down. They said they had called earlier but no one answered. I don't know why they could not have left a message. We had lived out of the suitcase which was a nuisance the night before so we would not have so much stuff to re pack. We moved to the other side with the "hideous" view. The room had a very stale odor. We had to spray everytime we came back into the room. The rocking chair on the balcony was peeling and everytime you got out of it you had to wipe your skin off. The pillows needed to be replaced, but other than that the room was fine. We only ate breakfast at the hotel one morning. There was no one attending the area, the food needed to be replenished and there was no table available to sit at. The trash was overflowing out of the can and still no one in sight. Like I said earlier, this was our fourth visit and may have been our last. We have always gotten our reservation requests in the past and been treated kindly and with respect by the staff, but I am sad to say it was not the case this time. They need to realize that the staff is representative of their hotel. It only takes one employee to ruin a good reputation. It definitely put a damper on the start of our vacation. We are planning a visit to Myrtle Beach in November, but we will be staying elsewhere. They certainly did not seem to appreciate returning customers so I guess they will not care. We were very disappointed in our stay at Hampton Inn and Suites/OceanFront.The rooms have seen their best days, and the price that you pay, does not match the quality of the rooms,or the attitude of the employees. They are not very helpful, and seem irritated,if asked about something. Our room had plenty of flaws. No lights seemed to work, the bathroom did not feel clean, maybe because of the datedness of the bathroom.TV remote did not work at times.A/C did not cool properly,it was needed because it was very stuffy in the room.I do not think we will stay here in the future, unless we have to.
