2 of 5  Satisfaction guaranteed???, A TripAdvisor Member, rumson, nj, September 18, 2003

We stayed at the Hampton Inn the week of August 18 - August 22.I had specifically asked for a higher floor when I booked the reservation directly through the hotel. Upon check-in, we were given a room on the second floor of a 14 story hotel. The room was very nice, I will admit, except the view from the master bedroom's balcony was the dirty, dilapidated, side wall of the hotel next door. I called the front desk to ask to be moved and all they tell me is to write a letter and suggest that a mural be painted there because the owner of the Hampton Inn also owns that hotel. Anyway, no cooperation from anyone on the staff whatsoever, so we stayed in the room. The only benefit to staying on the second floor was to be able to view the rat, yes, I said rat, that scurried along the pool area one afternoon. Management was chasing it with a stick, and I was able to direct them to where the rat was from my vantage point. No, they did not catch the rat, although we found out later that there were 2. The manager said he'd call an exterminator. The parking deck is a good idea, however it seems that most of the hotel staff is parked there so it is difficult to get a spot. The breakfast buffet is okay, nothing special. The reason I am writing this at this point is because I did write to the owner of this hotel directly immediately upon arriving home. Not only do they not honor their "satisfaction guaranteed" slogan, they don't even give you the courtesy of a response to your letter. Would I stay there again?

Probably not. Lots of hotels right on the beach that offer more amenities, and, are much more inexpensive. Just my views.

5 of 5  Would definitely come back!, A TripAdvisor Member, Chicago suburbs, IL, June 16, 2009

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days in June and would totally come back/ The whole place is done in a cottage vacation home style of decor. In the public areas it seriously feels like a vacation home! They have a continental breakfast every morning, a bunch of pools, a small playgroud, hammocks for anyones use, and a great beach! It also seems like a wonderful place for families and people with young kids.

my husband and I were upgraded to a family suite. Our room was awesome! Two balconies, one with 2 rocking chairs. Very nice touch! Nice kitchenette, living room, a room with bunk beds and a full bed, a seperate bathroom with two showers, and then our king room with the other balcony! Clean and comfy! It also is in a great location and the beach seemed less choatic then the other hotels near us.

Overall, very nice, clean, spacious, and we would definitely stay here again! Maybe with family or babies if we have them someday!

5 of 5  This place is awesome, especially if you have kids, A TripAdvisor Member, June 14, 2009

I came here with my family. Get an ocean side room. There are literally 9 pools here. The hot tubs and three pools are underneath the buildings (great if you've had too much sun.) There is an awesome kids pool with lots of water mushrooms, spray jets, etc. There are two lazy pools where you can just sit on a float and get slowly pushed around a loop. The beach out front is an easy stroll and very nice. If you can afford to do so, it's totally worth staying here versus somewhere across the street from the beach. You will have a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. A new tower was completed in April 09. Ask for the North tower if you want to stay on the newer side. We were upgraded to a suite in the South tower and it's been great. I suspect they upgraded all of the rooms with the opening of the North tower as our suite had multiple flat screen TVs and was very nice.

5 of 5  Tropical Paradise, A TripAdvisor Member, Mint Hill, NC, May 18, 2009

This is a beautiful hotel inside and out. We felt like we were secluded at a tropical resort instead of in the middle of Myrtle Beach during Bike Week! The staff is super friendly and the hotel is extremely clean. The beds are wonderful! There are so many special touches that this hotel provides. This will be our Myrtle Beach hotel from now on!

5 of 5  Lovely hotel, great service!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Atlanta, Georgia, May 14, 2009

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites for a few days. I had checked out a few other hotels looking for something clean, comfortable and right on the beach. The Hampton Inn was the cleanest beach hotel that I have ever stayed in. They serve a great hot breakfast every morning and hot cookies every evening. The service was impeccable, the parking was free and extremely convenient, the wi fi worked perfectly and the room was just as promised...a comfortable, clean King sized bed with a clear view of the ocean. The Hampton Inn has several heated pools and hot tubs and a separate pool for kids. It is located on the ocean blvd strip but appears unlikely to service many bikers or teens on spring break. This hotel is for the savvy traveler who is used to class and comfort, at a great price.

Owner response, Pawleys Island, May 16, 2009

Our $33 million addition and renovation are complete! No more construction noise! You will have to see our new resort to believe it!

5 of 5  Beautiful!! The Only Place to Stay!!, A TripAdvisor Member, greensboro, April 28, 2009

First, let me say that there were eleven of us ladies on a trip that our company gives us each year. We can go and stay anywhere we like within the budget we are given. We always come back to the Hampton Oceanfront at Myrtle Beach.

Their first plus is the wonderful staff. Kudos to Tom, the manager, who each year takes care of all the details for us, and goes out and beyond for us! The entire staff is friendly and always makes time to speak with you.

Each morning you go down to the breakfast which is included in your stay. You never know what you will have because each day is different. It is always a delicous spread of a hot breakfast and many other wonderful items.

They have just completed the new tower at the hotel. They added more pools and now have two lazy rivers. (The new one has water cascading over palm trees!) The outside is beautiful and immaculate. The inside is just as beautiful. The huge downstairs common area is all hardwood with see through fireplaces and floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean. And if you like to work out , the gym looks out over the ocean , amazing view!

We cannot say enough about the great rooms! They have rooms to fit any family. Big pillowtop mattresses with big fluffy pillows...love it. Flat screen TVs in the rooms. You even have wooden rockers on your balcony instead of plastic chairs. Bathrooms great and always everything spotless in the rooms, which are very comfy, clean, and well decorated.

Our group all agrees that we would never stay anywhere else, and that is says alot about all of us women agreeing on the same thing!!

You will not be disappointed here.....

5 of 5  Back for our third trip!, A TripAdvisor Member, BBQ capital NC, April 8, 2009

We have been coming here for three years to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff are all wonderful and very helpful. They even had roses waiting in our room per my husband's request and added their personal touch with complimentary sparkling grape juice with a personal card from the staff. My husband is in a wheelchair so we require a accessible room. The bathroom is adequately upfitted but the shower could be larger to accomodate his shower wheelchair. It is very difficult to find comfortable, adequate accomodations for us when traveling. We are so glad we found this hotel and it will stay on our "favorites" list for years to come.

5 of 5  Another wonderful Hampton, A TripAdvisor Member, Toronto, March 17, 2009

This is about the twelfth hotel in the Hilton chain that we have stayed at on our 2009 winter odessey and it is one of the best. The location couldn't be better. We had a suite on the south-east corner, with two balconies, a huge full kitchen and great ocean views. It would have been a great place to stay longer, particularly if the weather had been warmer (rained our two days there). We had problems hooking on to the internet and the staff bent over backwards trying to rectify the problem (solved by using our own cable). The construction is almost done (April, 2009); they were doing mostly landscaping during our stay. The couch could have been bigger and I can never find a bed hard enough for my bad back. Other than that, our stay was outstanding.

5 of 5  Best hotel @ Myrtle Beach!, A TripAdvisor Member, Smithfield, NC, March 8, 2009

I went to his hotel after checking into a horrible hotel down the street. I called them at 2am to see if they had vacancies, and they did. They only had one room available, but when I called they had quoted me with a price for another one. The gentleman realized his mistake and immediately offered me a deal I could not refuse... He gave me one night free @ $211 per night! He did that because he felt bad for quoting me a room they did not have, but they were very nice overall. The suite we got was awesome.. it was a 2br 2 bth suite, even though it was just me and my husband. Everyone was great, and that is definitely where we will be staying when we go back to MB later in the summer.

5 of 5  Still a Great Place to Stay, A TripAdvisor Member, Piedmont, NC, January 5, 2009

I just returned from this location. This was probably my 10th visit here. Progress on the new addition is moving along quickly. Contrary to an earlier visit during construction, there was lots of noise coming from the construction area this time, and I was located on the south side of the building away from the source of the noise. Thankfully the noise wasn't a problem. The only sounds heard that I felt might negatively affect others was the alarm sounding on a piece of heavy equipment as it was backing up one morning around 7:15am. It was loud enough to wake anyone nearby. It wouldn't have been so bad except that the driver seemed to be inexperienced and spent a couple of minutes trying to maneuver the equipment near some cinder blocks, causing the back-up alarm to sound on and off for about two minutes.

Pros: Check-in was a breeze as it always is - very polite desk staff - clean room - and exceptional amenities, especially the comfort of the bed. Our suite had everything we needed and expected. The express check-out made our reluctant exit much easier.

Cons: The selection of channels in the living room were somewhat different than those in the bedroom. I'm not sure why. The bedroom TV had more channels - strange. Soft drink vending machines are available on every other floor. When I tried to purchase a drink one evening, I found one machine empty, one malfunctioning, and one nonexistant. As a result, I had to visit five floors before I could find a soft drink. The exercise did me good though. The floor of the parking deck was slippery during two very humid mornings. It might be time for a good pressure washing. Some type of meat (ham, sausage, or bacon) would be a very welcome addition to the otherwise pleasantly stocked breakfast area, even if there needed to be a small charge for it. The breakfast area was poorly stocked one morning (lots of empty containers) with no employees in sight to fix it. Nearby eating tables were messy with no one to clean them. This did not seem to be up to Hampton standards and it surprised me.

The one change I would like to see is some form of recognition for a repeat customer such as myself. I certainly don't expect the desk staff to remember me since I only visit here 2 to 3 times a year. But every time I check in, I am asked if I have stayed here before. It seems like the Hampton would have some sort of flag in their computer system to let their staff know when they are dealing with a repeat customer. This didn't detract from my visit - it is simply something missing that is commonly found at similar locations.

Please don't let my cons sway you away from this location. I love it here and this is where I will stay on my next visit. The few inconveniences are almost meaningless when I look at the big picture. Most of my cons are in fact things that this Hampton Inn has led me to expect. Book a room here - you will be glad you did.

5 of 5  perfect get away at the Hampton, A TripAdvisor Member, Charlotte, January 2, 2009

I wanted to get away by myself and needed a place where I felt safe and comfortable. The Hampton Inn at Mrytle Beach was perfect for both. The staff was very friendly which helps when you are traveling alone. The hotel suite was clean, comfortable and quiet. I am cold natured, so I appreciate being able to turn the heat up and warm the room to my satisfaction. No doubt this will be a future get away spot for me in the future. Hampton Inn keep up the good work and your great quality of service.

5 of 5  Best Hampton In(n) the World!, A TripAdvisor Member, Portland, OR, October 7, 2008

I've been to Myrtle Beach four times on business. Three of those times I have stayed at this hotel. After each stay I've, despite being there for work, I've felt like I've been on vacation. Yes, there is construction but if you get on the south side of the building the noise is minimal. The staff is completely friendly and accomodating, the breakfast area is well stocked and surprisingly tasty for a continental deal, the rooms are comfortable and clean and waking up to an ocean sunrise is rarely a bad thing. The hotel is down the strand from where all the action is so it's quieter and more family friendly in that regard. For work or vacation, this hotel flat out rocks. I wish I could wrap it up and take it with me everywhere I go.

5 of 5  Wonderful location and service, A TripAdvisor Member, East Berlin PA, September 12, 2008

We were very happy with this hotel. The rooms were nice and the service was excellent. Very good continental breakfast included. This was a quiet location with no bars or restaurants adjacent. Our room overlooked the beach and pool area. There was construction going on next door to build a new wing. It was not distracting and was not going on after 5:00pm. Only 3 miles from Broadway at the Beach. We ate at Joes Crab Shack (yum) and Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant (excellent). Great Experience.

5 of 5  Can't Say Enough Good Things About The Hampton Inn!, A TripAdvisor Member, NE Ohio, September 4, 2008

We stayed at this hotel the last week of August with our 4 1/2 year old. What a great place to stay! Check in only took about 5 minutes and the ladies at the desk were friendly and funny. We were on the 10th floor, oceanfront. Our room was very clean as was the entire hotel and property. The rocking chairs on the balcony were great, we loved sitting and watching the ocean. We must have picked a good time to stay because the pools and beach were never crowded and we never had to wait long for the elevator - we never even shared a ride with anybody. One pool, the kiddie pool and jacuzzi are under cover which was nice the one day it rained. The other pool and lazy river were just steps away. Pools very clean and you could get towels at the front desk. We loved the grass area that had a playground and hammocks. The beach was steps away too. The lifeuard did the chair and umbrella rentals. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with lots of choices. Construction next door was not an issue and never bothered us. This is a hotel that we would return to on our next visit to Myrtle Beach!

5 of 5  Wonderful stay!, A TripAdvisor Member, Cleveland, September 1, 2008

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. It was so clean and comfortable that we hated to leave to enjoy the beach! We had a corner suite with 2 balconies where you could relax and enjoy the ocean sounds, talk, nap or read. The sunrise and sunsets were postcard perfect. The kitchen had dishes, silverware, pots and pans and a stove and refrigerator. There was a microwave and coffee maker and a basket containing popcorn and coffee fixings. There was a fireplace and table for 4 to eat at. The sofa and chairs were great for a nap or to watch tv.

The bathrooms were extremely clean...no mold or mildew. The beds are the best!

Breakfast even had fresh strawberries as well as other fruits, cereals, bagels, toast, muffins, etc. You could eat overlooking the ocean. What could be more peaceful. Cookies were available in the afternoon and the staff was friendly and even called us to make sure our suite was acceptable. We enjoyed each minute at the hotel and will go back.

5 of 5  The Cleanest!, A TripAdvisor Member, CLIFTON PARK, N.Y., August 27, 2008

We stayed here 8/11to8/16 on our way back tfrom Savannah, You got what you paid for here, a VERY CLEAN HOTEL, an ample breakfast and cookies in the afternoon, The pool area is well divided for families with or without children, so all can enjoy their stay. This was our 3rd year coming back to stay here, we're looking forward to next year when the new addition will be done to try that out.

5 of 5  Great Hotel, Enjoyed the Ocean, A TripAdvisor Member, Elizabethtown, Pennsyvlania, July 28, 2008

Great hotel. Enjoyed the hot breakfast each morning - eggs, biscuits, sausage, etc. Great location on the beach. The hotel is doubling in size and there was some construction noise, but nothing to bother our family. Excellent place to relax.

5 of 5  Outstanding!, A TripAdvisor Member, Fairfax Station, VA, July 7, 2008

From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had a pleasant stay. We came on a family vacation with our grown children and stayed in one of their suites and it couldn't have been more perfect. The breakfast has a variety of items that anyone is bound to like and the breakfast area is well kept. The warm cookies served in the afternoon are also a great treat! The rooms were VERY clean and every staff member we encountered in our week here was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful (especially when it came to recommending restaurants and entertainment). The pools were professionally cleaned every day and the beach was well maintained as well. I will be recommending this hotel to all our family and friends.

5 of 5  Perfect, A TripAdvisor Member, CT, April 27, 2008

We spent a week at this property and had a wonderful time.

Our room was spotless, the breakfast was plentiful and the staff was warm and welcoming.

Our side-view double room was very comfortable and had a small fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. There was an ironing board and iron in the closet. The beds and bedding were luxurious. The balcony had 2 rocking chairs and afternoon sun.

The pool and lawn areas were well kept and the beach was beautiful.

We look forward to returning.

5 of 5  Perfect, pleasant, enjoyable!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Fayetteville, Georgia, February 20, 2008

My sweetheart and I loved and enjoyed everything about this hotel, steming from the airport shuttle ride. (the driver was exceptionally nice...). Once we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with such warmth and kindness from the staff. I will admit..and I speak for my sweetheart as well.....when we return tp Myrtle Beach..we will be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites.

Thanks so much again to the staff!!!

5 of 5  Great Suites, A TripAdvisor Member, Raleigh, North Carolina, January 13, 2008

I've stayed at this hotel three times, each time booking a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite. The suites are great and reasonably priced. They have a balcony off the living room area and another slider to look out on the ocean from the master bedroom. The mini-kitchen and table are a nice addition, plus you have access to the free Hampton breakfast which is pretty good for chain hotel food. The indoor pool is nice for winter visits. Outdoor pool and a really small lazy river available in the summer. Great beach access and certainly close to all the tacky Myrtle Beach attractions like mini-golf and pancake houses.

5 of 5  Great choice for families, A TripAdvisor Member, Ft. Lauderdale, January 1, 2008

We stayed at the Hampton Inn for 5 days/5 nights. There were 3 adults and 2 children. We had a 2 bedroom suite, which had 2 bathrooms. The kids' room had a bunk bed and a queen sized bed for my mom, their grandmother. Our room had a king-sized bed. The suite was a good size, with spacious enough rooms. The beds were comfortable. Except for some mildew in the bathrooms, it was clean and housekeeping did a good job of straightening up. Breakfast was included and saved us some money each morning. They had a variety of warm and cold breakfast items. The staff was warm and helpful. It was our first time staying at this chain and we would definitely do it again!

As for Myrtle Beach, itself, I would not recommend it in the winter, unless you like the cold. It's also practically a ghost town at this time of year. The summer is their big tourist season and apparently until then, the town is dead! The one good thing there is Broadway at the Beach, which has everything for the kids: Imax, Magi Quest, mini amusement park, Aquarium, etc. Not to mention the restaurants and shopping for the adults. It's basically the main attraction in Myrtle Beach, aside from the beach. It was so cold, no one swam, except for one surfer. New Year's Eve here was uneventful. They had no fireworks when the clock struck 12:00 a.m.! Apparently, they had fireworks at 8:00 p.m. at Broadway at the Beach.

5 of 5  Nice oceanfront hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Houston, Texas, October 26, 2007

Located at a good wide long stretch of the ocean beach. Has a free parking garage. There are four pools and a small 'lazy river'. Short boardwalk access to the beach. Hotel was in very good condition and was very comfortable.

5 of 5  Excellent Hotel A++++, A TripAdvisor Member, York, PA, October 13, 2007

This hotel was wonderful. My wife and I stayed at this Hampton Inn for our honeymoon were very impressed. From the time we arrived at the Hampton till the time we left everything was very clean and the employees were very friendly. This hotel offered a great view from our room. Also, the employees at the front desk were very knowledgeable about the area and many key restaurants and attractions. We would recommend that if you plan on going to Myrtle Beach, you should definitely consider this hotel.

5 of 5  Awesome Experience, A TripAdvisor Member, New Hampshire, September 20, 2007

This past weekend, 9/15-9/16, I was in Myrtle Beach for my father's surprise party, and our accommodations were at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

First of all, I will let you know, I spent four years working in the hospitality industry, so I am VERY nitpicky when it comes to staying in hotels.

The Hampton Inn and Suites in Myrtle Beach is a fantastic property, and would definitely stay there again. We had a 2 bedroom oceanfront suite on the 9th floor. Upon entering the room, I was pleased by the spacious kitchen, which included stove, microwave, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and dishes, plus a nice counter seperating the kitchen from the sitting area.

The room itself was VERY big, big "living room," plus 2 seperate bedrooms. My 9 year old was thrilled that one of the rooms had bunk beds, so he was in heaven. The beds were VERY comfortable and I slept like a baby. Unfortunately, I got the short straw, and didn't get to stay in the oceanfront bedroom, with it's own seperate bathroom, but oh well.

The breakfast was excellent, the breakfast area very spacious and appealing to the eyes. We spent a lot of time on the beach and in the pool area, and actually felt sad when we had to leave. I have lived in apartments that were smaller than the room we were in...it was absolutely gorgeous. I give it a 5 out of 5.

Now....as I said earlier, I DID work in hospitality, and I have NEVER stayed in a perfect hotel, so, I DO have a couple negatives about the property...nothing major though....

-carpet in the room had a big stain in the entryway.....could have easily been shampooed.

-breakfast room was VERY busy. I understand it was a Sunday morning, but still VERY busy. Staff did a great job keeping everything stocked though. Alot of people had to eat standing up

-pool area, while quite ample, was nothing to be impressed with. The lazy river is TINY, REALLY TINY, and pools under the building were "boring."

-The kids play area was just ok....could be a little bigger.

-Elevators were PAINFULLY slow. We waited at times for 5 minutes for the elevator, and then it stopped on every floor. Nothing pisses me off when people get on on the second floor to go to the first. TAKE THE STAIRS!

These were very minor inconveniences that I could easily overlook. I would still give this property a 5 out of 5, and I can see why it is the #1 rated property in Myrtle Beach.

Hope this helped!

5 of 5  Great Place to Stay, A TripAdvisor Member, Maryland, August 27, 2007

Our family visited Myrtle Beach for the first time this summer and it was a wonderful experience. Our stay at the Hampton Inn was a huge part of that experience. The rooms were comfortable. The access to the beach was great and the view from our room was fantastic. Trip Advisor provided some excellent information. I would stay here again.

5 of 5  Almost Perfect!, A TripAdvisor Member, Sterling Heights,Mi, August 24, 2007

We arrived on Monday, August 13th and departed on Sunday, August 19th. Our stay at the property was nearly perfect and the weather was great! We were in a 12th floor, two bedroom family suite over looking the beach. The balcony had two wooden rockers that were perfect for relaxing later in the day and enjoying the terrific view of the ocean. The room was clean and well maintained and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed from silverware, plates, glasses to a microwave, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. Save your money on Breakfast items and go downstairs to the buffet. They always had a nice selection. One complaint we had were the elevators. during peak times in the morning and afternoon, you sometimes waited 5 minutes for it to come. An in room safe also would have been nice to store valuables in while you were at the beach, even though we never had an issue with anything missing.Other than those to minor things, excellent experience. I would recommend to anyone! All the other reviews on this property really helped me out. Drive to Broadway at the Beach, it is were all the action is at night.

5 of 5  Great Family Place, A TripAdvisor Member, Hot Coffee, Ms, August 11, 2007

Arrived on Sunday, Aug. 5th and only stayed one night because of business in Charlotte on Tuesday. It has a very nice Lobby, the rooms are nice and have a Microwave, frig., Iron, Hair dryer and every thing a traveler would need in my opinion. The hotel is located directly on the Beach. Just take the elevator down to the LL (lowest level) straight out the doors past the 4 or 5 pools and Lazy river, on to the walk over directly on to the beach. The beach area in front of the Hampton Inn has a Life Guard on duty. The beach is clean and water was great the day we visited. The Hotel has a great b'fast that had biscuits & gravy, Fruit, yogurt, pastries, coffee, juice, milk, ceral, and B'fast pizza. We really enjoyed the visit. I do Recomend asking for Ocean Front, so as to get a balcony overlooking the Atlantic, just my preffrence. The hotel also has a covered parking garage.

5 of 5  Perfect vacation, A TripAdvisor Member, Dobbs Ferry, New York, July 31, 2007

5 of 5  Wonderful Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, O Fallon, MO, July 17, 2007

This was such a wonderful hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. We had the family suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was very spacious and the location was outstanding. The views were excellent. This hotel was very clean and quiet. I loved the access to the beach and the pools. The breakfast each morning had a good variety and they changed the items each day. I would highly recommend this hotel to ANYONE who takes a trip to Myrtle Beach. I know I will stay here each and every time I come back.

5 of 5  Believe the Reviews, A TripAdvisor Member, Sterling Heights, MI, July 4, 2007

This is a fantastic property- one of the nicest I've visited.

First of all, it's clean. Very clean. There's no sign of mold in the bathroom, the furniture was free of nicks and bumps and the maid service did a thorough job.

Next, the room itself. I was in a double queen, and it was a nice size with what I'd consider a larger bathroom. The hotel provided toiletries, and patrons could pick up a free USA Today in the lobby. The beds were extremely comfortable; probably the best I've ever seen in a hotel.

The hotel property itself had some nice amenities. There are four pools, including a small wave pool. There's also a jacuzzi. It's just a short walk to the ocean, which is nice. There's also a well kept, very pretty lobby area where breakfast is served every morning. Off the breakfast/lobby area is a small room with high speed internet. There's also a very small area where guests can buy a variety of essentials.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful- in fact, they went out of their way to make the experience pleasant for all of their guests. Indeed, they were some of the nicest hotel employees I've met.

Finally, the clientele. I visited in late June and expected the hotel to be filled with teenagers and young children. There were children in the building, but they weren't the majority of the guests. And those children that were staying at the hotel were, for the most part, well behaved.

There's no real downside to this property. The exercise room is a bit small, but that was insignificant compared to the great staff, great location and the beautiful room.

5 of 5  Second Year--Loved It!, A TripAdvisor Member, Norfolk, VA, June 29, 2007

This was my second year staying here. I took my four grandkids and my daughter down with me. We booked a two bedroom oceanfront suite, it was more than enough room for all six of us. We needed more towels--they were brought up immediately, as well as more pillows. The staff was so pleasant and friendly. We got there early and our room was ready, which was a plus. The kids enjoyed the pools and the hot breakfast each morning saved me money with four growing boys! I will definitely be returning next year.

5 of 5  Never disappointed, A TripAdvisor Member, Brunswick, Ohio, June 22, 2007

We stayed here 4 years ago, and after this trip, when we come back, I know we would stay here again.

We are Hampton Inn fans to begin with. They have never let us down in all our travels.

The Hampton Inn MB oceanfront is immaculate, friendly, perfectly located, and the beach in back of the hotel is beautifully kept.

The rooms well maintained, and bright. The desk friendly, and the FREE breakfast enjoyable. The rocking chairs on the balcony wonderful.

The pool was clean and heated.

The guests were friendly and courteous.

The rating of Trip Advisor is #1 for good reason.

There are ...No complaints!

5 of 5  Excellent Experience, A TripAdvisor Member, Winston Salem, NC, June 22, 2007

I stayed at this hotel Memorial day weekend, it was crowded and noisy outside but once you enter the lobby of the hotel you feel the tranquility. The room was clean, and the view was awesome, I felt like I was in paradise amongst a bunch of "wild hogs" :-) ....They have a clean pool and very relaxing hot tub, as well as easy access to the beach. The only thing this place was missing was room service. I will stay here again, as I was very pleased.

5 of 5  Near Perfection, A TripAdvisor Member, Concord, NH, April 29, 2007

My family of 5 (kids age 10 to 2) and I went here the last week of April. I did a lot of checking and researching prior to booking, and although it wasn't cheap, I decided to heed the advice given on TripAdvisor, spend the extra money and hope for the best. What we found was everything and more than we could expect from an oceanfront stay. The room was near perfect (one lightbulb out) and huge for our family. The kitchenette is what we look for to enjoy eating in when possible as it is convenient and saves money. Great view. Awesome pools/lazy river/sauna.....Pools were heated pefectly. I just can't say enough about staying here. Great breakfast......Whether you are booking for a stay w/kids or business or as a couple, feel safe in choosing this hotel. I will be back next year, and I'll book at no other hotel in Myrtle Beach. It was well worth the extra money.

5 of 5  Best Hampton Inn I have stayed in yet!!!, A TripAdvisor Member, Mechanicsville, April 25, 2007

I used to work in Holiday and Hampton Inn. This is the best Hampton Inn I have seen yet. Very clean, comfortable beds and pillows, and the decor just feels like home. This hotel has a very friendly staff, internet area was nice with 2 computers, the lobby was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were very nice and I really liked the rocking chairs on the balconies. That was so different. Became very useful when I was sitting on my balcony watching that beautiful sunrise you can see from your balcony.

I was there over the Cheerleading competiton, did not have a problem at all with noise and the people were very nice. The continental breakfast was nice and good. The only thing I think this hotel could use is a larger gift shop. This was my first trip to Myrtle Beach and I would have loved to have had a gift shop in the hotel, while I was there it was too cold to go out and shop. Overall the hotel was very nice and staff was great. Very nice place. GO there!

5 of 5  Great Experience !, A TripAdvisor Member, Raleigh, NC, April 11, 2007

We booked this hotel the night before and were surprised to find an oceanfront room available since it was Easter weekend. The hotel decor/lobby is beautiful ! Staff was extremely friendly. Room was beautiful, bed very comfortable and loved the balcony! Great swimming pools and very clean.

Will definitely be staying here again and soon!

4 of 5  very nice Hampton Inn, A TripAdvisor Member, Washington, DC, May 22, 2009

This place must be pretty new. Everything looked new. Beautiful oceanfront hotel in Myrtle Beach. Only complaints: bed was a little on the hard side and Hampton Inn's don't have a bar or restaurant for evening dining. Other than that, it was great! Nice to have a small frig & microwave in room and the whirlpool was a nice stress reliever! The fitness room was small but all equipment I needed was there (eliptical, treadmill, free weights) and it overlooks the lobby and large windows to see the ocean while working out! Would stay here again.

4 of 5  Word of caution, A TripAdvisor Member, Hanover, Pennsylvania, September 24, 2008

This Hampton Inn was terrific the last time we stayed there in 2005. But I just wanted to let members know that they are doing major construction at this time. It looks like they are doubling the size of the property which will be great when completed but may not be great for those staying there in the near future. It looks like they will probably be finished by next season.

Owner response, Myrtle Beach, SC, March 15, 2009

We are currently doubling the size of our hotel to 228 rooms. Construction will be completed by April 2009 and we plan to open by Easter.

4 of 5  What You See, Is What You Get, A TripAdvisor Member, Maryland, July 13, 2008

I visited Trip Advisor and looked for a hotel in Myrtle Beach that its members reviewed. The Hampton Inn and Suites Ocean Front was ranked pretty high. I decided to give it a try and to my pleasant suprise, what I saw on the website is exactly what I got.

The hotel is clean and the employees are all friendly and responsive to your needs. While the hotel is not brand new, for the most part, it has been well maintained. Bedding is great. Balcony is sizeable with the rocking chairs-just like in the pictures. Closet is REALLY TINY! The in-room fridge and microwave are nice pluses. Bathroom-again clean.

Especially liked the enclosed lobby breakfast area and open porch/balcony that are ocean front. Continental breakfast options are plentiful and hearty enough to get you through the morning.

I appreciated the security -parking and pool area required your key to gain access.

Down sides are few: Slipcovers on a couple of the chairs in the lobby area could stand a washing. Entrance to the hotel could be marked better. The hotel is building another tower and it looks worse than it sounds. Our room, on the 9th floor, was two rooms away from the construction site but it did not interfere with sleeping.

Next year, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

4 of 5  Great hotel for your beach stay, A TripAdvisor Member, Lawrenceville, GA, June 26, 2008

Great hotel for a beach stay. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good enough to start your day. I've stayed at beach hotels before and this was one of the cleanest. There is a 1inch toddler pool, a 3 inch lazy river pool (with tubes), and two larger pools. The toddler pool and one of the larger pools are covered, but not totally indoor. The beach is just footsteps away from the pool area and there is a shower to wash off the sand before you reenter the hotel. It's also located on a less crowded end of the beach.

This place is totally worth the extra bucks. It's great for kids too due to the included breakfast. There is also access directly from the parking deck to the first three floors with your door key. This was perfect with kids. There is construction with the new addition, but they did a good job of not making it disturb guests.

4 of 5  Wonderful Ocean Views, A TripAdvisor Member, Blackpool. Lancashire, June 3, 2008

Wonderful ocean views from a larg room with a balcony. It is right on the beach with no roads to cross. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the parking is very well organised. The entrance to the car park is directly from the coast road and can be easily missed. There is construction work going on but we were not affected by this. This is a hotel very much up to the Hampton Inn standards.

The pool was disappointing. The indoor pool was very steamy and smelled of chlorine. It was too cold for the outdoor pool and there is a childrens pool which sepentines in and out of the hotel building..

4 of 5  Nice Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, New York, May 16, 2008

Our family of four just stayed here for a week this past April. It is a very clean, comfortable hotel. Our room was spotless, with crisp white bed linens (no garish bedspreads here) and towels. Breakfast room was very bright and pleasant, complimentary breakfast was fine with lots of healthy and light choices. Very friendly staff. The pool area was simple but quiet and peaceful. In retrospect, we with our two kids might have been better served at one of the more 'kid-friendly' hotels in the area with more water options. This was our first time at Myrtle Beach, and I found the typical layouts of these hotel pools (basically just converted garages) to be a bit odd. In fact, the kiddie pool at the Hampton is actually within the parking garage. Not my cup of tea! Outside pool is fine. If you are single or traveling without kids this place is particularly attractive, in my opinion.

As others have said, they are in the process of expanding the premises, which should be done by next year. It didn't really bother us, but I did wake each morning to the sounds of construction. Also, there is no restaurant currently in the hotel. Be prepared to get in the car to eat.

4 of 5  A Nice Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Clark, NJ, March 1, 2008

I stayed at this Hampton Inn for 4 nights while on business in February. The staff was very friendly and I found the hotel to be very clean and neat.

I had a room on the 9th floor that was equipped with a microwave, coffee pot and over sized fridge. The balcony had 2 rocking chairs. The room was comfortable, but the closet very small which might be an issue for a family on vacation with lots of luggage.

The free breakfast was ok. It had choices of cereal, fruit, muffins, bagels, etc. It also had a hot selection that changed each day of either eggs, sausage, ham, or french toast.

The Hampton Inn is in the process of adding a second building that will be complete in April of 2009. So expect construction if you plan to stay there in the near future.

4 of 5  enjoyable stay, A TripAdvisor Member, concord, nc, February 27, 2008

I stayed at this location last weekend and was very pleased. I have visited family in myrtle beach for many years and stayed at quite a few hotels in this area. The Hampton Inn Ocean Front was a pleasant experience. The room was clean and the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Many of the hotels in this area require a 3 night minimum which has always been frustrating to me, since I am visiting family; I may only need one or two nights on each trip. The Hampton gave me this option and it was appreciated. At many of the myrtle beach hotels, they have plastic chairs on the room balcony The Hampton had wood rocking chairs. This was a nice touch. I will stay here again.

2 of 5  Lower Your Expectations for Service, A TripAdvisor Member, Annaplois, May 16, 2009

Front desk manager has forgot she works for corporate company. Stiff no smiles it was awful experience.Think her attitude has resulted in the entire front desk team to have poor costomer service. Only employee who was nice was head of housekeeping, she asked to let her know if we needed anything. Pools are great think their 6 maybe more lost count great hot tubs heated pools.

2 of 5  Dissapointed, A TripAdvisor Member, North Carolina, February 27, 2008

We stayed one night in February. After seeing its ratings on Trip Advisor I expected more than I got. We had problems at check-in because their computer said the room was not available, however that was an error. The bathroom in the room was moldy - my wife cleaned it off with a cloth so that signals a problem with housekeeping. The inside pool area was not clean and the doorways were badly rusted. The breakfast area is not big enough for the numbers of guest - too little seating.

The area next to the hotel had construction going on and the overall look of the place was a little worn. Myrtle Beach oceanfront as a whole is a bit seedy and over developed. We had heard this from other visitors and sadly it is all too true - we will not be returning.

2 of 5  Disappointed, A TripAdvisor Member, Wake Forest, NC, October 9, 2007

This was our 4th visit and we were disappointed as we have had nothing bad to say in the previous visits.

We requested the same side of the hotel as always and upon arrival we were told that side was full. I had requested in my reservations as always what side I wanted and somehow my request was totally ignored even though we had made the reservation weeks in advance. The lady at the desk was rude and said she thought the side I requested had a "hideous" view. What kind of employee would say that about their hotel? She told us we could come down the next morning and try to get moved. My husband went down the next morning and they said they would move us and they would call, but if we had not heard anything by noon to call them.. Of course we did not hear from them and my husband had to go down. They said they had called earlier but no one answered. I don't know why they could not have left a message. We had lived out of the suitcase which was a nuisance the night before so we would not have so much stuff to re pack.

We moved to the other side with the "hideous" view. The room had a very stale odor. We had to spray everytime we came back into the room. The rocking chair on the balcony was peeling and everytime you got out of it you had to wipe your skin off. The pillows needed to be replaced, but other than that the room was fine.

We only ate breakfast at the hotel one morning. There was no one attending the area, the food needed to be replenished and there was no table available to sit at. The trash was overflowing out of the can and still no one in sight.

Like I said earlier, this was our fourth visit and may have been our last. We have always gotten our reservation requests in the past and been treated kindly and with respect by the staff, but I am sad to say it was not the case this time. They need to realize that the staff is representative of their hotel. It only takes one employee to ruin a good reputation. It definitely put a damper on the start of our vacation. We are planning a visit to Myrtle Beach in November, but we will be staying elsewhere. They certainly did not seem to appreciate returning customers so I guess they will not care.
