Hotel OK; staff not very smart

2 of 5  Hotel OK; staff not very smart, A TripAdvisor Member, California, July 15, 2008

Party of five stayed at this hotel for one night, unplanned stay. The hotel itself was clean enough, standard fare for Holiday Inn Exp. The rooms and grounds were basic, but clean.

The front desk staff was new and not trained. She did not know anything about how many priority club "points" it would cost to pay for the room; she didn't understand the question. Only one staff on duty on a busy Saturday evening in the summer. Staff was unable to problem-solve when the guest computer in the lobby didn't work properly. The breakfast was OK; again the standard stuff for HIEx.

5 of 5  Great Hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Northern Ontario, August 10, 2008

Excellent hotel. Comfortable beds, great complimentary soup and crackers on arrival, good breakfast, friendly staff.

5 of 5  comfy and welcoming, A TripAdvisor Member, Quesnel, Canada, July 20, 2008

We were very excited to see a Holiday Inn Express as we arrived in Dryden as we have had good experiences with this chain before. We were not disappointed, we arrived just a little too late to take advantage of the complimentary soup and crackers but thought it was a nice idea.

Our room was on the first floor as we had a lot of luggage. We stayed one night during our trip across Canada and enjoyed this hotel very much. The front desk staff were very friendly and we took a dip in the pool which was nice after a long day in the car.

Continental breakfast was supplied, included yogurt, toast and hard boiled eggs. Walmart and Tim Hortons are not far away for anything you need.

This newer hotel was nice and very warm inside despite the -40 outside.

4 of 5  Lack of fridge only problem, A TripAdvisor Member, Lund, Sweden, July 24, 2008

We stayed just 1 night here.

No major problems at all - typical Holiday Express.

My only suggestion would be that the rooms need a fridge.

4 of 5  Very comfortable hotel, A TripAdvisor Member, Thunder Bay, Ontario, October 31, 2005

Very impressive. Stayed here for one night on business and found the room to be extra large and very very comfortable. My room was on the second floor and there didn't appear to be an elevator so may want to request a first floor room if carrying a lot of luggage. The bathroom was also very spacious with lots of towels but the shower was not very powerful. There is a pool and small fitness centre on site. No restaurant or bar in the hotel but they do serve continental breakfast which isn't that bad. I've had worse but I've also had better. Very basic hotel but also very comfortable.

3 of 5  Good for large group, A TripAdvisor Member, Manitoba, March 4, 2008

Stayed for 2 nights with a group of 35. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable but could use a fridge. No elevator to the second floor.

No restaurant or bar but continental breakfast was good, they also offered soup, cheese and crackers starting at 5:00pm. A 5 minute walk east takes you to Tim Horton's, Extra Foods, A&W, 5 min West you hit the PI bar and restaurant.

A good stay, would recommend.
