Holiday Inn Benton

Upon arrival we found the hotel to be extremely clean and neat. The front desk personel were very helpful and considerate. They answered questions and the pool was a refreshing treat. In the morning the breakfast bar hit the spot with delicious waffles and fruit. We make this our home away from home when visiting the lake.

Our soccer team stays at this hotel when we are in town for tournaments. I called to book our rooms and there were not enough standard 2 bed rooms available so she gave us what was available and upgraded the rest to suites at no extra charge. My room was excellent, very roomy. The staff was very nice and helpful. There is a nice breakfast in the dining area and also coffee and cookies in the evening. It is easy to access a computer with one in the lobby. The pool area is nice expecially for a bunch of 13 year old soccer players. I would definately recommend this hotel to others!

We spent December 22 thru 24, 2006 at this hotel. Since many members of our family were nearby for Christmas and we couldn't all stay at the "Grandmother's home", four of us had rooms here. The staff definitely had "Southern Hospitality". They were always cheerful and helpful. When one couple asked if their room had a refrigerator, they were upgraded to a suite that had one (no extra cost). The rooms were very clean. The bathrooms had new "Simply Smart"shower heads, thick towels, etc. The indoor pool has been remodeled and the area was a wonderful 80 degrees. The dining area was very nice and clean with several tables. The fantastic continental breakfast had everything from cinnamon rolls, muffins, fresh fruit, waffles, french toast, cereals, hard boiled eggs, etc. From 4pm until 11pm, guests could have complimentary cocoa, coffee, fruit and Mrs. Fields cookies. A computer was available in the lobby. We enjoyed the arcade room and pool with our little granddaughter who stayed one night with us. She thought the whole place was great, especially with the Christmas tree and other decorations. We will not hesitate to stay here again.

We had stayed here in the past several times and it was just great. This last visit, the pool was down (and had been since October). The heater in the room they gave us was on the floor with exposed wires and stuff. The carpet in the entry was shabby. We checked out and found a functioning pool.

Hotel is under renovation. Carpets in room and hall are dirty and also are paint spattered. Lower moulding is ripped off entire hall, exposing walls. Security lock is ripped off exterior entrance. Entire first floor smells like cigarettes. We arrived too late cancel the room and it would have been too much trouble to try to find another hotel within driving distance after dark.
