Not Worthy of the Radisson Name | Read all reviews
I don't want to re-state everything the previous reviewers wrote except to say this property is not worthy of the Radisson name. Issues: ...poor or no parking ...tired, worn property, with heavy stains on carpeting throughout the hotel ...paper thin walls - I overheard every conversation, whisper, movement, shower etc of my neighbors ...not a fan of sleep number beds - I think they're overrated ...slow and limited elevators ...security - I left my room for 14 hours and when I returned my door was open - presumably housekeeping had been in to clean and failed to properly shut my door. After doing an inventory of my property (thankfully nothing missing and no boogy men under my bed) I called the front desk to complain and inform. This didn't seem too important to them - ...towels thin and worn ...desk chair broken ...air conditioning had two speeds, high and off ...used my last exact change for a bottle of cold water and received a fruit flavored water - ...no coffee - had the coffee maker, cups, sugar and cream but one minor ingredient was missing All these experiences and I was on the "Executive Level"

We booked our room on a Hotwire deal at the last minute. I assumed that because we were a hotwire reservation and a late Friday evening arrival that we'd have a view of the parking lot. Instead we had an 8th floor room looking right out into the harbor. The check-in staff was great, the staff at checkout was a little less so - college student on phone ordering food while we waited - but no problems with check out. THe hotel itself feels a little dated, and the rooms are smaller than what you might find at other 3 star hotels, but our room was very clean and looked well maintained. The pool area was one of the nicer ones we have found at a Duluth hotel. We did not have the chance to try the restaurant, so no comment on that. Overall we were impressed with the Radisson and will likely return on a future trip to Duluth. Thank you so much for your review. We are truely looking forward to you staying with us again in the near future! Spent 4 nights on a business trip to Duluth and had a faultless stay at the Radisson Harbor View. The rooms were big, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel has a revolving restaurant on the top floor with great panoramic views. The food was also good. Staff were professional and courteous at all times. This was a very nice and clean hotel. The upkeep was great! The hotel staff was very friendly giving us a lake view room and when we asked about possibly getting a fridge in our room they called a maintenance guy to bring us one for no charge! This hotel deserves credit for making our stay in Duluth great and that is why I wrote this. Thank you Radisson Duluth Harborview and Staff My wife and I were in Duluth in Mid-February and found the staff accomodating, the rooms very clean and the location great for our needs. The hotel is easy to find off of I-35 and close enough to downtown to be convienient without feeling unsafe. The staff helped us when we had car trouble and we ended up staying another day. The hotel seemed full with groups but we never heard a peep. Room Service was quick and the food was hot!Keep it up, I will return. I spent a week in March 2006 at the Radisson Duluth Harborview and was so impressed by how friendly the staff was. They made me feel as If I was thier only guest. I truly felt they were there for me from the front desk staff to the shuttle drivers. The rooms were spotless and quite nice. The sleep number beds are great and the pool area was emmaculate and well stocked with towels even approaching midnight. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel special. Stayed here with my 13 year old daughter for 2 nights on our trip to Minnesota. After trying all the lakeside properties and discovering that they were all either sold out or way too expensive for our budget, we tried the Radisson. They have very helpful front desk staff which gave me a good rate for a very nice room. There was no lake view but we faced a hillside which had some beautiful old homes on it and could see some pretty cool buildings. We had 2 comfortable beds and a nice big bathroom. The room was great and we had very friendly neighbors whom we met right next to our room. The walls are great. We never ever heard any noise from them. The restaurant had gorgeous views and was a hit with my daughter. She loved how it revolved and we got all the way around once we finished our breakfast. The breakfast is reasonably priced. My daughter ordered some stuffed french toast which she thought was pretty cool, and she is a picky eater. We had a friendly waitress and our water glasses were always full. The indoor pool is wonderful. We played air hockey on the air hockey table at night and then went for a nice swim before heading up for the night. We tried to get some ice cream out of the vending machine. It got stuck so I shook the machine, and about 7 ice cream bars came out. I informed the front desk and they said it was no problem and we could keep all the ice cream. Another great experience with the wonderful front desk. The location was pretty good. We weren't there too long and just drove down to the waterfront, parked for a small fee, and spent the day on a lake cruise and shopping. The front desk was very helpful with giving us directions to restaurants and tips on where to go. I would definately stay here again if I ever make it back to Duluth. After reading all the negative views I was somewhat apprehensive when we found that our $59 Hotwire hotel was the Radisson. But our experience was nearly all positive. We had no trouble finding a parking spot. The front desk staff were efficient and friendly. The elevator was fast. The room was clean, and we didn't see any stains on the carpet in the public areas or in our 12th floor lake view room. We did not hear any noise in our room, either from inside the hotel or from the outside. The only negatives were a balky drain plug in the bathtub and a very small amount of mold in the grout, so I downgraded my rating from "excellent" to "above average". We did not use the restaurant or pool, so we are unable to evaluate them. We were there during midweek, so perhaps our experience would have been different during a busy weekend (tournament, wedding, etc.). Overall, this stay was very acceptable. Room: in the rear wing, facing west- some siren noise from fire station (1 blk away) and ambulances coming from I-35 toward hospitals. Room was very clean, no signs of wear or tear. Pool area: Pool was deep (deepest one I've seen in a hotel), but smaller than I'd expect. Hot tub was really small (seats about 6 friendly adults, or 4 strangers). Pool area lacks some 'ambiance', has a view of the library or parking ramp. The hotel is located on the west edge of downtown, about 3 blocks from convention center, 5 blocks from Canal Park. Upside: they had a van service that was quick, and picked us up in Canal Park and the Rose Garden. Verify times. Hotel did have some tacky photo-copied ads for Sunday brunch taped to walls in elevators, lobby, etc. Booked this Hotel through Hotwire for $59 a night over the Holiday weekend. Read a few of the reviews on here before we arrived so I was skeptical, but I arrived early (1:15) and was greeted and given my room right away. I was given a room in the Round Tower section, 3 rd floor with a view of the Lake/Bridge. Great View, for the time I spent in the room. Nice size room, Clean, even had Sleep number Beds. We went to dinner the first night to the Top of the Harbor on the 15th floor, the Restaurant actually turns as you are sitting, giving you a 360 degree view of Duluth, and what views they are. Dinner was good, my wife had the Pan Seared Walleye, I had Pork Chops, both were delicious, the service was great. Breakfast the next morning wasn't as good, food wasn't that good, and the service was disorganized. Courtesy Van was nice when we got stuck a few miles away in a Thunderstorm, they came and picked us up. We had a great experience in Duluth, and I would recommend this Hotel if you are going to Duluth. I stayed in March with 2 girlfriends for a weekend away. We got a room with 2 double beds smoking. The room was bright and clean. The sleep number beds were great. The room didnt even smell like smoke that much. We contacted the desk to get the heat working and they came right up to help. The desk staff was great with reccomendations of what to do and provided us with info about the skywalk system (which was awesome!). Parking was not a problem. When we checked in we also each got a free drink at thier lounge on the lower level. Overall a great stay! The only downs were no free breakfast and slow elevators. Just back from a trip to Northern Minnesota. We spent two nights at the Radisson Harborview. This hotel exceeded the reputation of the chain, in spades. Service at check-in was quick and easy. We received some pamphlets about things to do in Duluth. Our room on the 15th floor provided excellent views of the bridge and harbor. Sleep number beds made our stay very comfortable. Room service burgers were so good, we ordered them twice! The only negative about our stay at the Radisson Harborview was the fog that came in on the second day. No more view. Alas. /d Great, comfortable stay. View was fantastic, new beds were heavenly, room was comfortable and recently remodeled. Breakfast in the rotating restaurant was even good and reasonably priced. The hotel itself could maybe use some updating - perhaps even a major remodel - but overall was a great experience. The cups in the room were dirty. When we put water in the coffee cups and poured them out it looked like coffee...which we hadn't made any coffee during our stay. The room was a bit run down and this hotel needs a good update. The pool was ice cold and not very child or stroller friendly- large stairs up to pool entrance. This was my second stay at the Radisson Harborview. It is an average hotel, but nothing special. It needs some updating ... the peach wallpaper and gold fixtures in my lakeview room were quite dated. I wasn't impressed with the rotating restaurant. The food is average, and the service is average as well. The concept is unique though ... and the view is amazing. I loved the Sleepnumber bed. It was awesome. That was probably the best part. For the price... I think you can do better. This hotel was a nice place to stay for a few nights. No, it wasn't anything special or exciting, but it was a clean and hospitable place to stay in Duluth. The room was average sized, but the sleep number beds were comfortable and clean, and the furniture was new-looking. I wouldn't go there specifically to vacation, but if you're in the area and need a place to stay, it gets the job done. The revolving resteraunt's food was surprisingly good, as was the room service. The people were nice, and overall it was better than most of the other hotels in the area.

While on a recent spur of the moment trip to Duluth, I thought I scored a major deal and booked a room at the Radisson for less than half price of what I had seen on many web sites. After staying in other Radisson properties, this hotel doesn't compare....at all. From the time we pulled up to the address of the hotel, to the time we left; it can easily be summarized as an adventure. Walking in the front door (what the street address leads you to), doesn't lead you to the front desk! Only by wandering around, did we chance upon finding the front desk (we didn't see any signs saying that we needed to go up a level). Check-in went smoothly, and were quite surprised to find out we were on the 15th floor, which we thought would be a treat based on the price we paid. The hotel is circular in shape, with a revolving restaurant on the top floor (more on that in a minute). We found our room, and were surprised that it had a faint odor of cigarettes. Interesting, as we asked for non-smoking. It's a small room, with 2 full size beds, desk, tv and awkwardly shaped bathroom (it's on a circular floor, so concessions were made in the design...I guess). I made sure the a/c was set to cool, and my family (husband, young son and myself) went to visit the sites. After spending time in the 90+ degrees, we came back to a semi-cool room. Not as cool as one would hope, so we decided to check out the restaurant. Revolving 360 degrees, overlooking the harbor on a port on the largest Great Lake. Sounds breath-taking and it is. Great view, not so great service. After an hour, we cancelled our order, having only received our appetizer (not a tough order, soup for me, burger for DH and pasta for DS). We go back to our semi-cool room to relax and figure out the Sleep Number beds. In theory, they'd be great. But, a full size bed for a 6foot tall man, 5'10" woman to share? Now, our DS thought it was great to have his own larger bed, but he's not quite 4' yet. We'd previously had QUEEN size beds in a double room, guess something had to go to fit into a small room. Fast forward to 2:30AM, I didn't remember seeing that the hotel was across the parking lot to the Duluth Fire Department, Station 1; but it is. Sirens and lights flashing, they were off and I was wide awake. I get back to sleep, about the time the restaurant staff arrives to work. Yep, revolving restaurant right above our room means that the restaurant needs to start their day well before I'm ready to start my day. Granted, we got what we paid for, but when you're expecting a Radisson Hotel, you expect a decent level of service. I'm just grateful I didn't pay the full price. It's not a 3star hotel, even if everything went right. It was an adventure (so said my DS when we left), and a hotel to avoid on future trips to Duluth. Nice room. Great view. Avoid the restaurant. Waited 2 hours for meal. Never got served. Walked out! This didn't seem too important to them - ...towels thin and worn ...desk chair broken ...air conditioning had two speeds, high and off ...used my last exact change for a bottle of cold water and received a fruit flavored water - ...no coffee - had the coffee maker, cups, sugar and cream but one minor ingredient was missing All these experiences and I was on the "Executive Level" We had called earlier in the week before we left to see if any rooms were available during our stay and were told there was a convention and there were no rooms. When we drove into Duluth on Friday night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant on top (I've already left a terrible review for that place) afterwards we decided to try our luck and see if anything was available. They did in fact have a room available with a decent view for a really discounted price. The room was small, the beds were small and even though they are the new Sleep Number beds no matter what setting we put them on they were totally uncomfortable. The air conditioner was set on full blast all night and no where did I find somewhere to turn it off. You can't close the blinds so you wake up early with the sun even if you don't want to. The shower has little to no water pressure and the tub doesn't drain well. It was clean but very obviously well used and it was beginning to show it's age. And my biggest pet peeve of all. No plastic cups. Just glass cups with little Radisson toppers on them. I've seen the stories and I just will not drink out of something that sits in that room for every customer. Ick. We checked out and were glad to. Spent Saturday night at the Comfort Suites and it was 10 times what the Radisson was. I am a member of the VIP program offered by the Radisson Harborview in Duluth. This program offers savings on rooms and dining at the Top of the Harbor restaurant. However, there is nothing VIP about this hotel. First, the good news. The views are quite nice. I recommend requesting a downtown/waterfront room. The property is, in my experience, kept clean. The location is good. You have easy access to downtown, Canal Park, and Miller Hill Mall is a 10 minute drive. Superior, Wisconsin (if you have the interest...I wouldn't bother) is also a short drive away. The bad news. The hotel is noisy. Soundproofing was not a priority when the place was built. The elevators in the tower (all of 2 for the tower) are PAINFULLY SLOW. If there is a hockey tournament in town, be prepared to be annoyed by tons of prepubescent boys. If there's a wedding or conference at the property, be prepared to walk...you can't find a place to park. The check-in process is slow due to the fact that there is usually only one (if you're lucky two) not-so-bright person working the very small desk just inside the front doors. If the property is full, you may get put in the annex which is ok but not what you think of when you see the tower (and they don't tell you that this may be a possibility when you make reservations). The bad news continued. The Top of the Harbor is a revolving restaurant...wonderful views and ambiance. But, the food and service spoil the experience. The cooks tend to overcook everything. Order your steak medium rare and it comes medium well. The salmon is usually charred. The burgers are usually charred. The service is like the elevators (see above). A casual and relaxing meal of 1-1.5 hours turns into a 2.5 hour epic saga. On Friday evenings, they have a musical trio going table to table. The restaurant is not that big so, if they are within 8 tables of you, you can't hear yourself think. So, if you don't want them playing something for you but others do, you're screwed. The only saving grace, sometimes, is the Sunday brunch. Overall, if you can secure a waterfront view room in a non-peak time, go for it. Just plan all other activities, including dining, outside of the hotel. Go to the Top of the Harbor around 4pm for a drink in the "lounge" area. You get the revolving restaurant feel without the headache of dining there. If you're looking for a nicer, more peaceful time, pay the extra money and stay at a nice place in Canal Park. I will not be renewing my VIP membership as there is absolutely nothing VIP about the Radisson Harborview. We booked this well in advanced, requested a dorm fridge for our room. Got there, parking is a problem, it's not convenient for a traveler at all, limited space. The room itself had a wonderful view from the 9th floor, the problem being when I opened the drapes to look there were spider webs all over the inside of the drapes, along the top of the window and yes...occupants with the webs. The dorm fridge was not in our room as requested when I booked this, I called to the desk in which they said they would run it up. We waited almost an hour so I called again, after about 20 minutes a maintenance man showed up, said they had brought it to the wrong room. At this time I told him about the spiderwebs etc. he looked at the drapes and took his feather duster and swiped over the drapes. The molding was coming off of the wall down on the floor, there was paint chips all over the floor surrounding the air conditioning unit, guess we expected more from the Radisson than this. We will never stay there again. The best part of this hotel is the revolving restaurant at the top of the building, the food is wonderful and the view is out of this world, this restaurant is open to the public so you do not have to stay at the Radisson to use it, which is what we will be doing in the future...staying elsewhere, fine dining there. We did get a response from the Radisson when I filled out my satisfaction survey, nothing personal...corporate response... This used to be one of the only reasonably priced hotel options in town, so many annoyances at the Radisson just had to be tolerated back then. Now there are more options and many of them are a better experience than this. Radisson has upgraded the hotel a bit in recent years years, but you will still spend great deal of your time in Duluth waiting for the slow, slow elevators here. It is called Radisson Harborview, but honestly this hotel is not nearly as close to Canal Park and the harbor as other hotels are. Pool is hard to find and very unappealing. The elevators are slow. We got the "bed and breakfast" package thinking that there would be something above and beyond an average hotel room. We checked in and got to our room and realized there was nothing different from any other room, just more expensive. I inquired downstairs and was told there was a coupon for breakfast I was supposed to receive and I was then given it. The coupon states: "Free complimentary breakfast" and I was told that it's good for either a family of four or a couple. It also said in the bottom that it had a 15 dollar value. So you'd think that if you went to get breakfast after spending more than 15 dollars extra on a "bed and breakfast" experience, you could order two simple breakfasts and not have to pay more. Nope, they just deducted 15 bucks off the price and we had to pay the rest. I have no idea how they can charge extra for this "upgrade". What a horrible ploy. Really a bad way to make money off guests. The stairs from any of the rooms in the tower to the skyway level end up in the kitchen area of the hotel. So, unless you want to explore the kitchen, exit on the lobby, wrap around the lobby, find the stairs that go down one more level, and then continue down the skyway. Parking was another joke. Where are their hotel guests supposed to park when there is a wedding with 100 guests downstairs? We drove around for 15 minutes trying to find a spot. We finally parked under a sign (in the hotel parking lot) that said "Park at your own risk", whatever that means. The room was set up so bad and smelled like urine. I don't know why everything in this hotel smelled like urine. The remote control only worked when it wanted to. The air conditioner/heater was either on full blast heat or off mode, making for a night of constantly turning the knob down, then back up. You basically had to step over the toilet to get the sink and shower. The restaurant upstairs was severely understaffed for breakfast. Not the best way to start the morning on a romantic weekend. Very low level of service, but hey, it's a hotel-run restaurant, what should one expect. So, I guess in this case I didn't get what I paid for, just an overpriced chain hotel that is in desperate need of replacement. Don't get any "upgrades"! My husband and I and our 3 kids went to Duluth for an overnight stay for a family wedding. We rented a room a pretty pricey room at the Radisson. The room was rather small (although nicely furnished and clean!), the parking was pretty terrible, the noise level in the hallway was ridiculous -- (this was a weekend, so honestly this wasn't the hotel's fault.--although pets shouldn't be allowed!!!) ** High points!*** The Staff was nice and VERY friendly! They offered us free shuttle service and picked us up from the wedding. The view was wonderful from our room! The kids LOVED the revolving resturant at the top of the hotel ... the food was reasonable and good! The sleep number beds were EXTREMELY comfortable ...! Small problems -- Noise, Parking, Slow draining bathtub, & the Price made it a place we won't stay again. I stayed in the Presidential Suite which ran at $230 per night. I expected a lot more for the price so that contributed to my disappointment. The view however was spectacular. The room furniture looked to be 25 years old and definitely showed the signs of wear. Dirty looking couches and a toilet which would flush repeatedly on its own as if it were possessed by evil spirits. The "kitchen" looked like a remodeled closet and boasted an old dorm refridgerator and an ancient tiny discount store microwave. The only meal ordered at the hotel was breakfast which was very ordinary. I would advise anyone planning to stay in Duluth to choose hotels in the immediate Canal Park area - the Radisson was a 15 to 20 minute walk from there but more in the heart of downtown which has very little to offer. My wife and I stayed at the Radisson Duluth Harborview this past weekend. I booked late and most other hotels were full except for this one. At $130 a night (city view) our room was adequate with a queen sleep number bed. They don't have full cable service and even some of the existing channels were spotty (no a/v hookups either if you want to plug in a dvd player or Playstation). We went to the resturant on the top floor to have a drink and were going to order some food but the service was so bad we ended up leaving before we could order. The waitress asked,"is there a problem?" I wanted to say at $20-$30 bucks a plate I expect better timely service. We walked down a few blocks to Pizza Luce and had one of best pizza's of my life instead. When we got back there was a wedding party going on on the main floor. While waiting for the elevator (very slow here, by the way)I spotted a man who I recognized from at the Harborview restaurant. I asked him how the food was and he said,"okay." He said that him and his wife went for a drive and now they couldn't find parking. This was an elderly man. The front desk clerk basically told him there was nothing she could do. Go plug a meter and wait. He said, "I expect better from a pricey hotel like this." When I went to bed that night I woke up multiple times due to loud bass booming dance/rap music. I spoke to the front desk the next day about it and she said "oh, that was our wedding reception, sorry". Don't stay here if want to leave the parking ramp after 6 pm and you really don't expect much. Could do ALOT better. The Radisson Harborview was an OK hotel, but for $180 should've been much better. The hotel was clean but fairly dated, and the rooms and bathrooms were a bit on the small side. Our view was horrible--if you stay there, insist on a lake view--and the parking area was full by 4:00, forcing us to park on the street and plug the meter. I've stayed at a number of Radissons and have become somewhat loyal to them, but feel rather burned by this experience. (We didn't try the restaurant or pool, so I can't comment on those.) I wouldn't stay there again. The parking ramp was small and dirty. Our room on second floor faced the parking ramp(nice view for 140+ a night. Bathroom tub was very dirty. During the night our smoke detector started to beep. There are only two elevators to serve the sixteen story tower which seems inadequate. Also the revolving restaurant is tired, tired, tired! Our first and last visit here. I stayed at this property as a guest of a convention that was paying for my room. This payment was confirmed at check in. I needed to be at a web conference that required java. Java does not work in this hotel. either the server can't handle the bandwidth or there is a java blocker installed on the server, ergo I could not make my web meeting. Upon my return saturday evening there was not a parking space to be had so I had to park on the street. A huge headache to begin with made worse by the city of Duluth's overnight parking ban. I drove for 20 minutes and got six blocks from the hotel and still could not find a place to park. So I parked on the street and got a ticket. When I checked out Sunday morning the front desk did not have my billing information from the convention so I had to pay for my own room. They also didn't care that I had received a ticket for parking on the street. The only comment was "Parking is a problem here". I didn't receive a response to my query" Where do you park?" I didn't get a response about the lack of Java either. The irony is that I got better web service on the street in front of the Holiday Inn 2 blocks away. When I informed them of this i got the shoulder shrug. I also did not get a response to my email outling my experience. On my next trip to the Duluth Superior area I will stay in Superior. I am very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your recent stay with us. I am requested an explaination from our internet service provider as we have web meetings frequently in the hotel. I can also understand your frustration with parking in downtown Duluth. I apologize that the parking issues effected your stay with us. I know that as a leading provider of Yes I Can Service in Duluth, we can do a much better job of providing you with the services you expect. I hope that you will consider giving us another opportunity to accommodate you in the future. Dealing with assistant manager and general manager after a problem with billing was unsatisfactory. Pay close attention to billing. my account was billed before we got to the room. This was my first visit to Duluth and was looking forward to a three day getaway with my husband. I did all the planning of the trip. When we arrived at the Radisson, the young girl at the counter couldn't help me with our reserved room. She'd given it away a few hours before. She didn't believe I was who I said I was and didn't check into her mistake until I gave her my credit card so she could verify the reservation. When she realized what she'd done she didn't know what to do about it. I waited about 10 minutes (in which time two other customers came up to the counter with complaints) and then she just walked in the back room like she couldn't help me. The asst. general manager saw me waiting, not being helped and made a rude comment about the girls' service, and then put us in a different room. The motel was very busy. Bantum league hockey teams, a collegiate men's and women's bball team, the Moose Lodge Convention anda Women's Mid Conference were all being held. The kids were hitting all the buttons in the elevator and it really slowed down everything. Some people were taking the service elevator instead. The lakeview was ok from where we were located on the 11th floor. We had a side view of the canal. The parking was ridiculous. We left for the evening and came back to no parking in the lot or the adjacent lot. The asst. manager told us to park three blocks away and I told him that was unacceptable. He told me not to get mad about it and he went outside and found us an illegal parking spot on the entrance road leading to the upper ramp. There were many vehicles parked where ever could be found. I went in the hotel and canceled for the second night. I was glad I did because the next morning we showered and the shower fluctuated from warm to scorching throughout the whole shower. It never stayed at a comfortable temperature. For the next night, I called and reserved us a room with a jacuzzi and king bed (Cost $15 less) at the Hampton Inn on the canal with a spectacular view ON Lake Superior. The Hampton even served a complimentary hot breakfast. I will definitely visit Duluth again! I will definitely not think of staying at the Radisson knowing how relaxed and comfortable we were at the Hampton Inn. Their bed put the "Sleep Number" bed to shame. Ample parking to spare! My husband booked this hotel for a birthday surprise for me. We have stayed here about 1 1/2 years ago on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time here so I was very excited to come back. One reason we picked Radisson was due to their sleep number beds. Parking was okay. We found a spot but it partially was due to the fact that we got there at 3pm and beat the rush to check in. Check in was fast and efficient, nothing special. We got a room on the 5th floor in a different part of the hotel than last time. It was in a long hallway that you needed your key to enter it by. We arrived to find our room not a sleep number bed room, but a dark out-dated room with the shiny polyester bedspread. We immediately called the front desk to be informed that all sleep-number bed rooms were full and the only other room availabole was a smoking room with double beds. We immediately checked out and found a great place somewhere else in Duluth (look for our review on that place soon). If you dont mind overpriced rooms that are outdated and dark, feel free to stay. Please know that there are much cheaper rooms in Duluth that are better quality. The only pros about this place is that the room did have a nice sized fridge and a microwave. When we stayed her last time, the room we stayed in was part of the circular part of the building, making the rooms smaller but more cozy that way. The room we got this time was bigger... but grosser. I was very disappointed in my stay at the Radisson. Next time, I will just stay at the Holiday Inn down the street. I know I was happier at the Holiday Inn from a previous stay. The Holiday Inn also offers a parking garage as opposed to an open outdoor ramp at the Radisson. Upon checkin the front desk staff was nice, but they did not go out of their way to explain anything to me. From my experience in the past, most of the hotel staffs will tell me where to go to find my room, when checkout time is, etc. After the guy handed me my key he supplied none of that information. Not a big deal, I just had to ask him questions. We got to our room and it was a big disappointment. The hotel itself is cylinder shaped. So the rooms were awkwardly set up. For instance the chair was positioned on the opposite side from the tv. The room was also very small. The Radisson chain advertises their "Sleep Number" bed which I found to be uncomfortable. We had a king size bed and the "Sleep Number" bed is just an air mattress covered by sheets. You can position the bed to be firmer or softer by a remote. However, sleeping on an air mattress is not exactly comfortable to begin with. I expect that sort of comfort if I am camping, not staying at a Radisson. I believe that some of their rooms do not come with the Sleep Number bed, I'd recommend not getting one if possible. The bathroom was also small. The sink/vanity was located inside the bathroom with the toilet and shower (a big pet peave of mine). When you need to get ready with more than one person in the room, having the vanity/sink inside the shower area is not a good idea. There was no fan in the bathroom. The shower itself was terrible. Only half the water came out of the shower head and the other half came out of the faucet for the tub. If you are a business traveler and rely on the free internet service from hotels, beware. The first night all went smooth. The internet worked just fine. However, the second day we weren't able to get online. The hotel confirmed that morning that the wireless internet was down. However, it was STILL down the next morning! I contacted the front desk to see if they had any other options to do any other type of internet such as dial-up and was told they did not. So the hotel knew the internet was down and more than 24 hours later it was still not fixed! Obviously the Radisson to tries to appeal business travelers but doesn't try to fix a simple problem such as the internet. Other people have commented on the view of the harbor. That is great if you are one of the few rooms that actually face the harbor, however we were not as lucky. You may want to request this prior to checking in. Overall, I can say with confidence that I will not stay here again. We did not try out the other hotel ammenties such as the restuarant, fitness room, pool, etc so I cannot comment on them. This hotel was not worth the price. Save your money and stay elsewhere. My husband and I stayed at the Radisson Habor-view Duluth over a weekend in July. We were extremely disappointed with the room and parking situation. Our toliet was spraying water on the floor when flushed, our tub didn't drain, our door rattled loudly when every other room door in the hall closed. There was also not near enough parking at this hotel, don't expect to find anything after 3pm especially if they have a wedding reception. I bought these issues up to the hotel and they did nothing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay there again on our trips to Dultuh. I got this hotel free through frequent flyer awards, but I would have been angry had I paid for this stay. The taxes for 2 nights were $40, which was out of pocket! If you get a cheap price, then stay here. The location is good if you want to explore a different part of town. We did and ended up finding a great Thai & breakfast place, and could walk to the show at Pizza Luce we came to see. It does have skyway access if you're there on a cold weekend. The bedroom was nicely decorated. And for not having a lakeview, we had a nice, partial-lake view. It is about 1/2 mile from the canal, so walking is an option if you're in good shape. HOWEVER, we didn't try the rooftop hotel because we don't usually trust hotel food; the elevator was extremely slow, the hottub was full of young children (that's just wrong) after 9:00 and the water level was down about a foot; our neighbors were extremely loud - could hear talking, and the doors slamming and and toilet flushing could wake the dead; the fire alarm beeped loudly about 6 times over the weekend; one of the beds would not adjust; parking was a nightmare and often full. My partner said the Holiday Inn down the street looked much nicer.
