This Motel needs to be seriously upgraded. I wonder if Holiday Inn knows they are using their name. Rooms are very small and yucky, no caffienated coffee available, only decaf. No extra towels available upon request. Front desk staff in the restaurant smoking everytime I went to ask for something. Did get caffienated coffee in the lobby (at least that was what I was told), but the trash can had cigarette ashes all over it and the floor, and the lobby smelled like cigarettes. Stay away.

4 of 5  Good, A TripAdvisor Member, H-Town, May 27, 2007

I just stayed at this hotel over the memorial weekend and had a good time. Front desk was nice and they call you in the morning to tell you the weather. Very friendly family hotel and quiet during the night, if you don't get a room in front of the pool (alot of kids swimming at night). There were 2 problems that I encountered though. First, the beds are a bit uncomfortable and hard. Second, when housekeeping cleans your room, they leave the curtains opened, exposing everyhing. Not only did I expereince that, others did too because while I was walking around the hotel, I could see inside their rooms and no one was inside. Other than that, I would return again.

2 of 5  eh- it wasn't great, A TripAdvisor Member, alexandria, VA, November 9, 2007

I stayed here for 2 nights to attend a funeral. First of all it is built like a motel, with the outside stairwells and doors and the vent air conditioning which is either too cold or too hot. Not what I expected from a holiday inn. The front desk people were fine and the place was $70 a night- so cheap. The pool looked pretty nice but I didn't swim. My room wasn't dirty but it wasn't super clean either. It was cramped. The beds were soft. It was quiet though, until the maids came through with their carts. I'd stay at the Hampton inn across the street if I had to do it over.

Owner response, Cental Texas, October 28, 2008

The old Holiday Inn of Seguin was just reflagged to a new hotel chain and is no longer a Holiday Inn.

The new Holiday Inn Express is a four story, fire sprinkled, fully handicap accessible modern building that will be included in the City's ISO rating of a 2/2. Only two other cities I know of got this high of a rating. This building has two elevators, a swimming pool, one of the best fully equipped gyms I have ever seen (machine weight stacks of 200 plus pounds which will tax a hard core gym rat) and a very visually beautiful interior. The rooms are executive style suites with large LCD TV's and Serta beds. Families will enjoy the large rooms available in many of the suites.

The Handicapped will find the rooms very pleasant and as Texas has a very stiff TAS law that exceeds ADA, you will not feel in any way a hardship with your stay in this sparkling new building.

This building is at 2801 Jay Road which is in walking distance to Chili's, IHop, and a really great new Italian Eatery. Seguin is located in Texas at the intersections of IH-10, State Highway 123 and State Highway 46, just 45 minutes from Austin and San Antonio, 25 minutes from New Braunfels and San Marcos and right on the edge of the hill country. This building will also be within 3 miles of the new I-130 Toll way linking Seguin to Georgetown and I-35 which is scheduled to be completed in late 2011 or early 2012 .

The old postings are no longer relevant to this new Holiday Inn Express.
