First, the price: USD 300 for a junior suite with terrace and breakfast in NYC mid-week?! So I figured there had to be a catch. Bad location? A block from my client on 42nd, so no. Hard parking... My spouse and I booked one night at the Tudor Hotel for a quick New York getaway over the Memorial Day weekend, driving down from Boston early Saturday. We called ahead to confirm our Quikbook... What a delightful surprise to find this gem. Courteous staff, immaculate facility, excellent location and much more.My first impression of a warm and friendly place stayed with me throughout... My wife and I stayed here 3 nights -- we used priceline and got a great rate (under $100 per night) for a Fri, Sat & Sun night in April. Our room was small but was a corner room - even had an East... We stayed at this hotel for six nights in late April. We were concerned after booking this hotel on Priceline and then seeing the reviews on this site. But those worries were completely unfounded... | ||||

We have been visiting New York (and other US and Canadian cities) for almost 25 years - usually two or three times a year. Our Easter 4-night stay at the Tudor was our first disappointment.The... Room is old. With the price I paid, should have stayed somewhere better. I called the hotel directly, requesting a room with two beds and a quiet area away from the elevator and was told that there would be no problem. When I arrived, there were no rooms with two beds... super shabby around the edges. lamp in room had no lightbulb, and desk girl wanted to give my husband attitude about him asking for one. mattress had no mattress pad until i asked for one... Like pretty much everyone else on here (or so it seems), I too got a room here via Priceline. After submitting a ridiculously (for NYC) low bid of $98 for a "3.5 star upscale" hotel and learned... | ||||
